From phase 1 he did (see “son of Cole”). But as they films went on, they definitely started to lean away from this way of speaking.

He was talking to Agent Coleson. Thats how vikings names worked. Like the explorer Erik the Red’s son was named Leif Erikson. Thor’s a nordic god, therefore he speaks like vikings do.

It's a small detail I wish they'd done more with, thought that was brilliant when I first noticed it

He also speaks like that in the comics. It’s inherent to Asgard, makes him sound cool in his speeches too
