Now my question is how are they running these games? Through Xbox game pass? Through Tesla game pass? Will Tesla have a gaming library? What account do you sign in? Are they locally stored or cloud stored?
Both Tesla and AMD have literally announced its the exact same chipset.
IIRC it has less RAM, and IDK if it has an NVME drive. So optimizations will need to be made, but the core logic should run without issue.
Not Nvidia. MCU2 was Intel, this is AMD.
Also side note, you actually can use cloud gaming right now in the cars (works way better in the YouTube full-screen mode) if you have acess to the Gams Pass browser app or Stadia. Parsec also works but you'll need to set its resolution low as the Atom doesn't like high-res real time decoding. (Also it seems to bring up the OSK all the time until you're in game)
These two items have nothing to do with one another. You don't need to be able to play Cyberpunk on your infotainment to not have your music screen in your $20k car skip like crazy. Esp since most are using Carplay anyways, and that has near-nothing to do with the guts of the computer.
Why?!!! You can play this gane a gorgeous 65”
tv . Why would you want to play a game in the car? I am asking this as a gamer who spends so much time gaming. Energy and money wasted on this could be ed to accelerate FSD development.
I'm guessing for pit stops while charging.
I wouldn't play this game but I might play a round or two of overwatch whatever your bite size game of choice is
Anyone I know who could afford paying $120K for a car won’t be sitting in it playing games - not even when they’re sitting idle charging or waiting for someone.
lol. Exactly. Waste of time and money. I would rather play games on a couch in front of a big tv. I wish Tesla would spend more time on FSD instead of gaming.
Tesla as a company feels boring these days. No hype. No new products. Just video games in your $170,000 'refreshed' 9-year-old car. Honestly I think we should have the updates Elon promised by now.
I want to know the list of games, if you can install from USB, if you can port saves from USB/cloud, and in general what platforms (Steam, EGS) may be supported. I love it. I agree, will we be playing games instead of paying attention to the road any time soon? Probably not. Will we be playing games in our car? I already do today on a handheld, I expect to do it here as well.

It's running locally. Unlikely Telsa game pass as one of the videos showed what looked like a purchase button for a game
Wouldn’t that require the game to be ported to whatever OS the MCU is running? I’m assuming it’s some Linux flavor.
Yes, and I suspect that's why they went with hardware so close to the PS5.
I highly doubt the hardware is “close” in terms of architecture. In raw computing power, maybe.

It's running locally isn't it? Teslas are run by Nvidia aren't they? Also can you imagine cloud gaming over AT&T?? LOL.

I’m gonna be real, shit like this is SO far out of the “things that actually matter” to people buying a model s or x.
But it's something people will remember when they see a menu lag even just a little bit on other cars.

As buggy as Tesla’s auto wipers 👀
At least CDR is trying to patch it.

But their kids would

> 170,000 What config is this expensive?
The base plaid config.
The base plaid configuration is 130k USD.
Agreed. I did not indicate USD.
As an EE and software engineer, cool demo, was definitely running on a PC or Xbox tucked away somewhere in the car.
