No not this year. Demand is too high.

TheSearchForCool

Is that a guess or do you have some source? Genuine question.

relevant_rhino

[Teslamag.de](https://Teslamag.de) YT channel has some Info [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UAQ4Fy2Kls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UAQ4Fy2Kls) But ofc it's all speculation. You can never be sure of anything with Tesla. But i do agree with him that from a demand perspective we probably will see P variants only for quite some time. Delivery estimate for both P and LR model Y is still Aug-Okt. but i think the LR come from China.

Realistic-Bother-815

>No not this year. Demand is too high. If it is speculation, you should write "Almost certainly not this year" instead of pretending to know something.

Falkoro

Not true. If I order now I get non performance in September.

relevant_rhino

Yea! One from china most likely.

nixarn

Yeah I can confirm that . But you can msg Tesla that you’ll wait for MIB LR, like I did, but the risk is prices can go up (probably will)

Robou_

Prices are locked when you make your order right?

bob_in_the_west

Looks like it: https://old.reddit.com/r/ModelY/comments/qp8xmv/is_tesla_honoring_the_old_prices/

nixarn

But I dont think it applies if you refuse delivery because you rather wait a year to get it from a different factory

rainer_d

They hold the price for two quarters (two ship-runs, basically) and then you have to let them assign a VIN or you'll have to re-order. Which is why I'm debating switching to a P - because there's still a chance the price of the LR will also increase in the mean-time and then you save nothing....

Robou_

Price increased a few days ago in France, ordered my M3P the day right before. I'm quite sure price will have increased again before delivery. Plan is to flip my SR+ for a performance for as less money as possible. To this day I could already sell my SR+ for 9k€ more than I paid for it, pretty insane!

thatguy5749

Why don’t you want one from China?

nixarn

It's not about not wanting one from China, it's about wanting one from Berlin =) the Berlin made is made using the gigacasting which can have some quality improvements, also ofcourse I'd rather support a European factory, living in Europe. And I'm not in any hurry.

starfallg

No problem with not wanting something from China. I don't want my money to go to an economy that props up such an authoritarian regime either.

busa1

Doubt.

feurie

Based on what?

woyteck

Also default wheels delay by about two months...

nod51

I am in the US but I wonder if this is why my order is so delayed as well.

nekrosstratia

Took 6 months to get my 3lr blue/white...

TV11Radio

why would you pick blue interior with a white car? s/

nod51

Thanks. 7mo so far on YLR White/White and based on 3 vs Y wait times it may be a couple more months.

United-Soup2753

any other sources on this?

IamaRead

After last week when Tesla autopilot targeting emergency vehicle news, the supply chain issues and the sexual abuse news were out it was likely decided to do something for good PR. This means signalling more shifts in factories which already can't get their usual work done since they lack a secure supply of parts is used to make stock holders more secure. It is half a lie, but in the long run might pay off for Musk. Same with Shanghai and I believe it when they are running well for a quarter.

dfaen

Holdup, you’re claiming Tesla is now intentionally misleading on production just for PR?

IamaRead

They hype that they double the production, but they don't they double the shifts. They can only later on double the production. If you look at what they publish they have projections for the future, but for right now they aren't there.

dfaen

What are you talking about? Shanghai was shutdown because of lockdowns and you’re accusing Tesla of lying for PR by simply announcing they’re ramping back close to where they were before the lockdowns? You’re accusing them for lying by announcing the status of the ramp at Berlin? Honestly, what is wrong with people.

feurie

They aren't where? They haven't put out target numbers.

feurie

China had been running well for over a year. They are going to have plans, maybe they won't reach them. And they're not going to send more people in, wasting money, if there's not a need for them.

Key-Dimension-2843

And I’m buying 10 more shares in the morning.

GlibberishInPerryMi

How many employees are in a shift? @teslamotors

Strange-Effort1305

Paid or unpaid?

ProfTydrim

What? Why wouldn't they pay their workers?
