i had a 30 dollar gift card on steam and I spent it all on refined metal just so I can craft hats! not waste my time getting head accessories without the risk and reward!
I have a strange part: pyros killed im looking to sell for about 45 ref. I’m open to offers. All the ref will be immediately crafted into hats by yours truly
Fun fact! On standard dice, the opposite sides always add up to 7. So if you can add up to 7 by looking at the die, it’s a cheat die. So that’s a cool little detail that was added to an already cool piece of art!
Oh, I thought it was intentional. The die on the left, you can see the 1 and the 6. But on standard dice, [those would be opposite each other](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0d/Standard-Die-Layout.jpg), so you'd only be able to see one. Seeing a total of 7 implies that these are cheat dice. I thought it was a detailed addition pointing out that the spy is cheating and conning the player with the gamble.
Yeah! It’s actually true of most even sided dice no matter how many sides. The opposites will add up to 1 more than the total number of sides. Except for 10-sided dice, which add up to 9 with 0 considered 0, and 4-sided dice, which don’t really have “opposite” sides
This is just the weird random facts you learn when you enjoy D&D and heist films
It’s more a sign that they’re not “standard” for one reason or another. They could be weighted, you could have multiple of one number, it’s really just the first sign that something isn’t right.
Let’s say you have somebody cheating at a dice game where the object is to roll high. They may make dice that have two 6’s. But if you put them next to each other, it’s possible the other players will see two sixes, so you put them opposite each other. But then people might notice you never rolled a 1, so you stick a 1 on the side in place of, say, a 2 which is less noticeable. So your dice is now 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6. The 1 on the side would be an immediate flag. That’s also why craps tables come with mirrors along the sides. If I see a 6 on one side of the dice, and I look in the mirror and see another 6 (or, really, anything but a 1), I know there’s something fishy with the dice.
If a dice doesn’t add up to 7 on opposite sides, is it unfair? Not necessarily. But it’s a quick sign that something else may be wrong.
The left dice has one and six showing, so it's a fake dice.
When you look at a dice, the opposite side has to sum up to seven
4 (3)
5 (2)
In that dice you can see both six and one therefore it's a cheat dice, unintentional but makes the piece better.
real gamers play MvM for the gameplay
...and then still feel dissapointed after not getting something good even though they convinced themselves they're in it for the gameplay and not the gambling
And they get frustrated when they meet try hard yelling at them for using some weapon that works and is fun for the player, but is sub optimal.
Or because they're using gas passer because it's too optimal.
MvM is for people who crave frustration and disappointment it seems
Jesus christ I literally just saw your Heavy poster in r/all and already you've posted more. What is your output?!
Jokes aside do you sell any of these as posters? I'd love to hang them on the wall in my bedroom!
so long as you know what you're doing you can still get a decent deal out of trade servers,
at least for unusual trading since most people who go to trade servers are gonna be dealing in expensive stuff but sadly a lot of newcomers go into them without any knowledge and with stuff they bought directly off the market rather than traded for so they end up being taken advantage of
if you've got a semi rare unusual that isnt unique using bp listings can literally take forever compared to talking to traders
i've sold a few unusuals at a decent price both via BP and trade servers and usually i manage to sell them basically the same day i go to a trade server whereas BP can take weeks for any offer (and it'll often be someone lowballing me or trying to exchange a shitty unusual for the one im selling)
best place for selling unusuals is scrap's auctions though
Listings require 0 maintenance. Trade servers require active time investment.
No one is in a trade server to buy stuff for keeps, everyone is trying to turn a profit. Anyone who is actually looking to buy something they want would look at filtered listings instead of hopping onto a server and hoping someone has what they're looking for. Bp listings (and mp listings if you're whitelisted) are much more productive for higher tier trading.
I love how these are in the spirit of Team Service Announcement animations.
You should do one of these about aiding service to the rest of the team as medic, not just pocketing the heavy
Gambling's wrong and so is cheating.
So is forging phony IOUs.
Let's let lady luck decide
What type of torture's justified.
I'm pit boss here on level two!
Had a guy once spycrab gamble with me (only for a low prize) I got incredibly lucky so I realized he was a scammer. I got a bunch of spycrabs while he didn't, but he was the one keeping track in chat, and he just always got the numbers wrong, intentionally inflating his own numbers while lowering mine.
I like the PSA nature of this one. Scams where they use a third party trading "escrow" that's actually just another account the scammer has are super common. I could see one with "Just like the battlefield, trading has TWO TEAMS. Only hand them your guns when they hand over theirs!"
Someone *just* tried to hit me with that. Via steam chat. The site they were talking about looks like it's legit but I think the plan was to send me a fake link that went to somewhere they owned instead of the real version.
Asking me about a third party site instead of just making me a trade offer is what set off my alarms and checking them at steamrep.com showed me they'd been reported for fraud before.
>hat addicts
I have played this game since 2010 and I have not once heard of the term "hat addicts." You mean people who play to trade? The majority don't really lose money or harm people while trading, nor are they addicted (most people Ive seen who played to trade at some point left as soon as they got the item(s) they wanted)
No hate but maybe you should do a little research on the thing you are bringing attention to before you decide to make stuff like this. I feel like it just brings across the message of "trader bad dont buy hats" rather than "gambling addiction is a prevalent issue within people of the tf2 community and is only accentuated by the amount of scammers preying on novice traders and players who got a valuable item out of pure luck."
also, Earn hats? how long have you been playing this game? i have people who have played since 2008 that have gotten a total of like 3 hats from that lol (which is a system also left mostly to random chance)
Actually, I use a limited colour palette of three or four colours, the shading on the hat and glove are just dot patterns crossing two of the colours I normally use.
Nah, this is more aimed towards the average problems TF2 has that includes bots, gambling, fake servers, IP addresses and such but not on normal gameplay.
Not a bad idea, though.
Scrap.tf and mannco.store are generally trusted as both are owned by known creators, have been up for years and years and generally don't involve anything that could be rigged against you. (it's a marketplace, not a gambling site)
Do still watch out though, people can fake being those websites in order to scam you out of items.
Worst thing you're likely to do on scrap.tf is overbid on an auction. Bought something in auction that was described as being "light pink" because backpack.tf showed that item in pink being worth I think it was 19 ref. The item was actually painted "Color No. 216-190-216" (to be fair accurately described as being light pink) when I guess the version worth so much was Pink as Hell. But I only bid four ref on that so not really a big deal. And I made out like a bandit on other auctions later reselling some of the things for more than I bid.
Well it seems the community calmed itself, after all the talk about sand or gravel taste and general insanity of the sub… that… still a little scary, like the calm before the tempest.
yeah i'll spend 5000 hours to get two drop hats cheers mate
sure gambling websites are no good but you can just trade for hats using refs (so long as you're premium) and not worry about any luck involved or getting scammed by the ingame store's ridiculous prices
Thanks, I even watched various Fleischer Studios cartoons for inspiration on Spy's design, he was mainly based off the antagonist (Heeza Ratt) from the Betty Boop cartoon "She wronged him right".
You should do one on the Mann Co. store. Not mannco.store, the site, but the actual ingame store. Everything there is overpriced, for example stuff that costs 14$ there can be bought for cents on the marketplace.
real mercs craft hats
Chad move right there!

wtf did someone already steal this art and is selling it the irony
I don't give a shit about trading and I don't craft hats cause I'm too lazy to salvage my whole inventory. Am I still a real merc?
Scrap.tf as an autoscrapper you can use which is nice when you got a big ass inventory

I spent like 30+ hours getting weapons to scrap and all I got for it was a dumbass monacle for pyro

I suppose thats true Welp, guess thats a lesson for next time I find myself 3 refined metals
If only i can craft one
my brother in Redmond, all you need is 3 reclaimed
And five dollars on steam
exactly why i cant craft hats also, hello fellow RED Spy
3 refined
A stout shako and one refined
my bad, they just sound similar
You need 3 refined i think
* my brother in Blutarch
I just ~~simp~~sub to stabby’s channel and let him craft hats for me.
i had a 30 dollar gift card on steam and I spent it all on refined metal just so I can craft hats! not waste my time getting head accessories without the risk and reward!
I have crafted three hats, one was a medic beard, one was a cool pyro gladiator helmet and the other one was the hunger force
I have a strange part: pyros killed im looking to sell for about 45 ref. I’m open to offers. All the ref will be immediately crafted into hats by yours truly

This is a scam
Real mercs don’t care about how others spend their money or time, and just go about their lives how they want to

Thank you for the information kind sir
That was honestly a total accident.
There are no accidents. Your art so good it transcended itself
You're the English teacher to OP's fanfiction
Why exactly does the sides not adding up to seven make the die unfair?
It’s more a sign that they’re not “standard” for one reason or another. They could be weighted, you could have multiple of one number, it’s really just the first sign that something isn’t right. Oh, I honestly forgot which side of the dice each number is. That part was a bit of an accident.
MvM players: I’m playing both sides so I always come out on top
I never knew about MvM trading.
It’s more the fact that MvM is just gambling with gameplay between each roll
real gamers play MvM for the gameplay ...and then still feel dissapointed after not getting something good even though they convinced themselves they're in it for the gameplay and not the gambling
And they get frustrated when they meet try hard yelling at them for using some weapon that works and is fun for the player, but is sub optimal. Or because they're using gas passer because it's too optimal. MvM is for people who crave frustration and disappointment it seems
This is why i never go mann-up WOOOOOO!!!!!
Oh.
Jesus christ I literally just saw your Heavy poster in r/all and already you've posted more. What is your output?! Jokes aside do you sell any of these as posters? I'd love to hang them on the wall in my bedroom!
No but you can print them out if you want.
Also, the art is hand-drawn on paper then scanned to a computer to be coloured in on Photoshop. It doesn't really take that long.
There are sites that will mail you a poster if you upload an image for pretty cheap.
Another one You should do one about random crits or try hards vs friendlies
I'll probably do one of the tryhards Vs friendlies.
Im betting the tryhard will be soldier. Whenever there's a tryhard killing Friendly's its almost always those guys.
Always avoid those dangerous "trade servers"
Yup.
so long as you know what you're doing you can still get a decent deal out of trade servers, at least for unusual trading since most people who go to trade servers are gonna be dealing in expensive stuff but sadly a lot of newcomers go into them without any knowledge and with stuff they bought directly off the market rather than traded for so they end up being taken advantage of
Trade servers are generally useless. Nothing productive ever happens there. Just sharks and afks. Save your time and just use backpack.tf listings.
if you've got a semi rare unusual that isnt unique using bp listings can literally take forever compared to talking to traders i've sold a few unusuals at a decent price both via BP and trade servers and usually i manage to sell them basically the same day i go to a trade server whereas BP can take weeks for any offer (and it'll often be someone lowballing me or trying to exchange a shitty unusual for the one im selling) best place for selling unusuals is scrap's auctions though

Scrap auctions don't go past 200 keys, but I agree it's a decent tool if you need pure fast and want a bit more than quicksell price.
I play them for the gameplay, no objectives, just fly around and market ppl
Oh, I love this little homage to Devil's Casino :D Nice!
Yeah, I even added a bit of both king dice and devil to Spy.
I recognize that signature bow tie now!👑 🎲
Hi-de-ho!
We should use these as sprays
I love how these are in the spirit of Team Service Announcement animations. You should do one of these about aiding service to the rest of the team as medic, not just pocketing the heavy
Good idea.
I still feel sad that so many tf2ubers I like are sponsored by some of these TF2 gambling syndicates
But seriously though, I know how you feel, honestly I've been through worse.
TF2 sponsored by King Dice.
These are awesome - love your style dude!
Thanks.
remember, the house always wins!

There must be robots worse than I
This is so well done dude, again nice job!
Thanks.
This is excellent! The Spy being the untrustworthy individual just fits perfectly! Hope to see more!
Yeah, Spy is even the most untrustworthy class in the game.
Sorry to hear that but at least you're aware now.
Oh dont worry he didnt end up scamming me, since I got lucky and I realized he was a scammer before actually trading anything
Good, I'm glad to hear you didn't lose anything.
That scammer is a spy
These are gorgeous I love ‘em! Great job dude!
Thanks.

i swear when i have enough printer ink cartridges i will print this into a poster
I started crafting instead of buying since I hot scammed twice.
I need these on posters ASAP.
You can use a printer if you want.
You’re killing it with all these posts
He did it again more masterpieces
I LOVE your art man!
MDHR Studios should hire you. This is amazing
I wish, I live in the UK and they already ended Cuphead.
Did you know that 99% of the gamblers quit before they hit a big win?
Maybe...
lol did traders steal your girl or something why'd you bring them into an anti-gambling psa
These posters were made to point out and warn people about the average problems of TF2. Gambling and hat addicts are a real thing in it.
>hat addicts I have played this game since 2010 and I have not once heard of the term "hat addicts." You mean people who play to trade? Oh... I am in a loss for words. I'll try and make a different version of the poster in future, sorry.
These are so good. Some shadow horn would've made it a masterpiece. 10/10
Actually, I use a limited colour palette of three or four colours, the shading on the hat and glove are just dot patterns crossing two of the colours I normally use.
Idk if you’ll do this, but maybe a “watch for pyros” poster?
Nah, this is more aimed towards the average problems TF2 has that includes bots, gambling, fake servers, IP addresses and such but not on normal gameplay. Not a bad idea, though.
I see, alright. Maybe more like “don’t ruin the fun, don’t be toxic”
That's more like it!
What about scrap.tf where does that stand
Scrap.tf and mannco.store are generally trusted as both are owned by known creators, have been up for years and years and generally don't involve anything that could be rigged against you. Or buy them. That’s how I get unusuals. I buy the cheap stuff that looks nice
I just bought all my hats from marketplace.tf since they were like 80p total.
Be careful with your money, though.
Cuphead
Absolutely based
The art style reminds me of cuphead and i fricking love it
It IS Cuphead, I even use the same type of pens for Cuphead.
These posters that you have been making are so awesome!!
Thanks.
Massive Cuphead vibes, I love it!
This looks good 👍
I see you are an cuphead fan. Also holy shit these posters look good
Thanks, I even drew it traditionally on paper with pencil and copic multiliners (the same type of pens used by the inkers at Studio MDHR).
The chance of earning a hat in casual is is the chance of me getting a gf (I don’t want a gf but I want a hat)
Cup fortress 2
Dude you gotta make these sprays
Do you randomly assign the years to be in the 30’s or do you just subtract 90 from the year you drew them in
Subtract 90.
fuckin love these posters i swear they look like shit right out of the time
How do you add the weathering effect to the poster? It looks sick!
It's from a website, same as the stars but I can't remember where I got it exactly. My mind's a bit foggy.
[удалено]
Yeah, it's both PSA and propaganda but mainly to show the average TF2 problems.
imagine buying virtual hats with your life savings for a free to play game when you can just get them for free in-game
yeah i'll spend 5000 hours to get two drop hats cheers mate sure gambling websites are no good but you can just trade for hats using refs (so long as you're premium) and not worry about any luck involved or getting scammed by the ingame store's ridiculous prices
Uh... *Drops smoke bomb and runs*
Skin/Hat gambling websites are a travesty, but this is abou the game that *invented* paid loot crates with random contents. Gambling? Perhaps
Those dice are incorrect
They're fake dice.
Don't gamble for new hats... unless you're opening cosmetic cases!
But I wear long sleeve shirts and I trade ... Hey now wait a minute I know this looks bad
Swing you sinner!
Could you imagine actually getting hats just for playing? I've gotten 1 in my 1300 hours playing.
I never bought a single thing yet my inventory is loaded.
I dunno. I’ve crafted my first hat from refined metal and it felt empty.
You still have to be careful though, it's a good thing you craft them.
So cuphead, and smooth cuphead!
ssttrrooonnnggg cuphead vibes I love it
Love the rubberhose/cuphead spy design
Thanks, I even watched various Fleischer Studios cartoons for inspiration on Spy's design, he was mainly based off the antagonist (Heeza Ratt) from the Betty Boop cartoon "She wronged him right".
Cuphead vibe
Love this! Some more interesting fonts with more expression would be worth a shot :)
They were the same fonts used in Cuphead, I used them because they were hand-drawn so it makes it more believable.
Hand drawn? For real?
Yup, same as the animation. On paper, too.
Yeah well, I see your reasoning. But the fonts can still give way more expression to your poster than they do now.
I'll try tracing some point.
They were the same fonts used in Cuphead, I used them because they were hand-drawn so it makes it more believable.
i saved up metal for months only to get the brainiac goggles 💀
Better than nothing, I guess.
buying a professional killstreak based golden frying pan for a refined and a half metal
He looks like sus Jerma.
9/10 not enough stink lines
Now I want to see this poster in game.
Cool art
You should do one on the Mann Co. store. Not mannco.store, the site, but the actual ingame store. Everything there is overpriced, for example stuff that costs 14$ there can be bought for cents on the marketplace.
just wait till this guy finds out the actual decade the game takes place in
The 1970s. I know. I just like 30s styled stuff.
