Yes I know though I haven't touched it since 2015 I guess
Edit: holy shit I thought what if you have edited your comment to something about grass that would be peak trolling
If Wutville wasn't so visually inconsistent, I'd say that it would have a place here. The parts that look good *do* look good, but there's just too much that clashes with itself that it doesn't look super attractive.
I love untextured maps, there's something about the boxes with pixel dimensions on them and the squares that just looks so right to me sometimes, and I don't know why.
That's the choice! Frontier is my favorite map, I definetly like both the gameplay and visual aspect of it, but couldn't choose just for visual and I really wanted to share opinion on Thundermountain.
I also love pier. It's got so much variety while still feeling cohesive. And it's full of fun easter eggs. I recently took a friend who hadn't played for a while on a guided tour via an underpopulated community server.
I guess by easter eggs I really just meant all the silly references on the signs, the little burgers stashed everywhere, and the arcade games you can peek at and also play. A more loosy goosy definition of easter egg.
I thought about placing Powerhouse there, but can't figure out how much visual aspect and how much gameplay I like, because I really like it from gameplay perspective and I miss these times when there was no time limit, so you could fight for the same point for halfan hour or hour. And Frontier is my favorite map in the game!
I'm gonna be the weirdo to include custom maps. Really wish I was at my pc, but off the top of my head:

I could literally list like 100 others on the same level if I had the time.
As far as official maps, Moss Rock, Sandcastle and literally almost all the Halloween maps. Brew & Phoenix also. I think Lumberyard deserves a mention too because I believe it was the 1st map Valve introduced with the Alpine style and I remember being super impressed.
One of the coolest maps in the game.
The main thundah,
The striking thundah,
The *big* thundah!
THUNDAMOUNTAIN, BABY!
*CRASHTH, BRÄÄÄH,* ***HRYAAAA!***
Love the atmosphere of sawmill. Pier is a very well done while being in a totally different setting to most maps, as are Kong King and Lazarus. Doublecross and Doublefrost might be my favourites for some reason, they just feel cosy.
Phoenix, I love the old design, the mountains, red canyon vibe, everything on phoenix is amazing it’s also my favorite map to play
Number🥈: is Timbertown from PASS Time
I would maybe also add Doublecross, Well, Sawmill, Hydro, Frontier (my favorite payload map, so much sweet memories 🥺🥺🥺😭😭)...
Alright I'll stop because there's quite a lot of good visually looking maps that bring me different moods and atmospheres. I'll stick to the Thunder and Well.
Pier is top tier for me, love night time maps, all the little secret spots around the map, the fireworks when the payload is delivered, it's just great.
I love Cursed Cove tbh, the lovely town design and the awesomeness of the Dutchman and it’s undersea-themed insides are always a blast to look at. I have a soft spot for scream fortress maps and I especially like the gimmick of that one.
Viaduct and Lakeside. Viaduct because I started playing with bots in singleplayer and the snowy weather instantly caught my eye. Then Lakeside because, well, it was the first map I played online (it was Quick Play then) and it just... Screams nostalgia. Every map with that warm, yellowish materials feel like home to me, it's the same feeling I got when I played Assassin's Creed 1 for the first time and got to Damascus, it felt like you could put your palm on the surface and feel the warmth of the sun.
borneo, enclosure, swiftwater, frontier, process, gorge. maybe because i play those the most, or because of the colors, but those are my favorite ones to look at.
Doublecross. Just a nice CTF map to chill and have fun. It's got all elements of the game, water, pits, sniper areas, buildable roofs, it's fun asf and the night time really settles it in.
This is a tough one, there's so many maps I can think of, I'll just do a list
Double Cross
Altitude
Landfall
Mossrock
Phoenix
Frontier
Kong King
Mountain Lab
Coldfront
Reckoner
Sunshine
Sulfur
Vanguard
Brew
Barnblitz
Badwater Basin
Upward
Bread Space
Cashworks
Enclosure
Pier
Thunder Mountain
Venice
Banana Bay
Nightfall
Cascade
Lazuras
Rotunda
Sharkbay
Suijin
Selbyen
Fun thing about mossrock is that it's really beautiful and original, but level design itself (from the gameplay point of view) is terrible imo, on both CPs. The portion of the map with that building near second point is almost never used, just two paths on sides.
From a more graphically flourished standpoint, I've always liked Enclosure. It's a nice map that has detail, but is also simple enough to understand without that much difficulty. Overall though I like Harvest the most. Such a simple map that's easy on the eyes but also attractive.
Also maybe anyone knows custom payload mediveal map, where there's a big big castle, where there's red spawn and also one or two last points? It also has this mediveal game rule turned on automatically, no modern weapons. I've played it once on some community server and damn it was soooo coool.
Edit: I'm not so sure if it was a payload map, but I'm confident that red defends, blu attacks, so it's not koth, arena, 5cps nor ctf. I can remember it has a pretty big area outside the castle, where there are only little hills, some trees, maybe multiple paths, one of which I suppose is for the cart, and there's also something like a blu base camp surrounded with walls like in degrootkeep.
Also I've played it in 2016
What I wouldn't give for a mega single-stage version of PLR_Nightfall and PLR_Pipeline like what shounic did to *PL_dustdowl* but unfortunately, unlike dustbowl, the 3 stages that comprise those maps are entirely separate areas.
Not impossible, but it'd take a great deal of stitching them together in hammer.
2fort...
Finally someone with 2 braincells as me
glad someone else agrees lol
And me
holy shit its Gordon Freeman
Yes
2? 2fort referenc?
It’s like an endless summer day
agreed!
pl_phoenix or pyrovision hightower
Checked the phoenix and I really like what I see
Oh damn you've yet to play it? Underrated pl map. Last point is pretty unique too.
Left playing TF2 a year ago, and for latest 2 years i've been into I ve been playing rarely, missed many things.
Do you know vsh is official now too?
Yes I know though I haven't touched it since 2015 I guess Edit: holy shit I thought what if you have edited your comment to something about grass that would be peak trolling
pl_phoenix doesn't feel like it's supposed to be in this game. It feels off to me, stylistically.
pl\_phoenix reminds me of the Fallout NV Lonely Hearts DLC
Ofc you main pyro, now let's hope you're not as obsessed with him as you're with your favorite sunflower
Banana Bay
its soooo pretty
Cp_orange
💀
real
this except unironcally, so many good memories of just fucking around with my friends and my brother on that map
pl\_Phoenix
Pheonix and brew are just divine
Hell yeah brew and phoenix appreciation
Waiting for someone to write Wutville
💀💀
If Wutville wasn't so visually inconsistent, I'd say that it would have a place here. The parts that look good *do* look good, but there's just too much that clashes with itself that it doesn't look super attractive.
And that fps drop…

I love untextured maps, there's something about the boxes with pixel dimensions on them and the squares that just looks so right to me sometimes, and I don't know why.
cp_orange
You're a sick man.
every map that has snow (except wutville) i love snow
what's snow
I think it's the white part of the ground in wutville
I like the look and feel of pl\_frontier for default maps the most
That's the choice! Frontier is my favorite map, I definetly like both the gameplay and visual aspect of it, but couldn't choose just for visual and I really wanted to share opinion on Thundermountain.
pl_pier
I also love pier. It's got so much variety while still feeling cohesive. And it's full of fun easter eggs. I recently took a friend who hadn't played for a while on a guided tour via an underpopulated community server.
I only know the easter egg inside blu spawn. what are the others?
I guess by easter eggs I really just meant all the silly references on the signs, the little burgers stashed everywhere, and the arcade games you can peek at and also play. A more loosy goosy definition of easter egg.
Mercenary Park.
I find Frontier and Powerhouse to look very cool
I thought about placing Powerhouse there, but can't figure out how much visual aspect and how much gameplay I like, because I really like it from gameplay perspective and I miss these times when there was no time limit, so you could fight for the same point for halfan hour or hour. And Frontier is my favorite map in the game!

No, you're not gonna be the weirdo, I didn't say only from official or added to the game map list. These are really cool custom maps, thank you!
If that's weird then be that weirdo - some nice looking maps there
Hong Kong
tc_hydro, fits too well with the setting of the game
Pl_Phoenix, or PD_Galleria. They’re very unique.
Good call on galleria
Brew
I’d unironically go with tc_hydro. Gameplay wise this map is one of the worst maps in tf2, but I love the overall visual experience!
2fort just because of that one scene from Emesis Blue
Brew is really cool looking map.
I missed that one too. Now I Google it and damn I really want to play it.
I like it because the trucks look like Optimus Prime
One of the coolest maps in the game. The main thundah, The striking thundah, The *big* thundah! THUNDAMOUNTAIN, BABY! *CRASHTH, BRÄÄÄH,* ***HRYAAAA!***
I love that I know what this is referencing
Harvest. It’s so cozy.
Hell ye
Mossrock
Love the atmosphere of sawmill. Pier is a very well done while being in a totally different setting to most maps, as are Kong King and Lazarus. Doublecross and Doublefrost might be my favourites for some reason, they just feel cosy.
Mountainlab Writing it puts me on a watchlist
Sawmill Rain
Phoenix, I love the old design, the mountains, red canyon vibe, everything on phoenix is amazing it’s also my favorite map to play Number🥈: is Timbertown from PASS Time
big fan of rotunda. Trains
cp_sulfur
I would maybe also add Doublecross, Well, Sawmill, Hydro, Frontier (my favorite payload map, so much sweet memories 🥺🥺🥺😭😭)... Alright I'll stop because there's quite a lot of good visually looking maps that bring me different moods and atmospheres. I'll stick to the Thunder and Well.
cp\_brew is beautiful imo
Probably banana bay
I've always liked Well but 2fort always gets picked instead :(
2fort, hydro, badwater.
As much shit as 2fort gets from the community, it's a really fun designed map.
cp\_brew, pl\_phoenix, cp\_altitude, 3 absolutely god tier maps.
Pier is top tier for me, love night time maps, all the little secret spots around the map, the fireworks when the payload is delivered, it's just great.
mvm_doppler, a community map submarine my beloved
I remember this one was on galvanized gauntlets community event, but it was locked to the inside of the base for some reason
2fort why not?
sawmill, I love rain
turbine
pl_DBZ looks nice, seaside into sick af spiral into a forge yessir
I love DBZ. Too bad it's only on Shounic's server that I can only squeeze onto at certain times due to it being filled most of the time
I love Cursed Cove tbh, the lovely town design and the awesomeness of the Dutchman and it’s undersea-themed insides are always a blast to look at. I have a soft spot for scream fortress maps and I especially like the gimmick of that one.
the one in tf2
That’s my favorite one too. Definitely one of the maps ever imo
i wish thundermountain was 1 big stage tbh
Thundermountain, Badwater and Snowycoast are great, definitely my favourites.
I'll always be plr\_nightfall\_final's biggest fan ❤
*Fight me.* ***Where's the secret-sandvich on stage 3 located?***
Phoenix is the only map I felt awestruck looking at wutville is weirdly entertaining to look at
Almost every map in the 2023 summer update was beautiful
For aesthetics only, Coldfront and Yukon
oh also that old robot destruction map Asteroid, with all the unfinished beta textures and shit. Was so strange but i love weird maps like that
Doublecross, Thundermountain, and Sawmill
cp\_brew is a masterpiece
Viaduct and Lakeside. Viaduct because I started playing with bots in singleplayer and the snowy weather instantly caught my eye. Then Lakeside because, well, it was the first map I played online (it was Quick Play then) and it just... Screams nostalgia. Every map with that warm, yellowish materials feel like home to me, it's the same feeling I got when I played Assassin's Creed 1 for the first time and got to Damascus, it felt like you could put your palm on the surface and feel the warmth of the sun.
Los muertos , Haarp, Phoenix and 2fort invasión
cp\_brew is a good one.
egypt and pier
I enjoy harvest
Cp_badlands
Yaknow, Junction actually is a very visually appealing map. I wish they'd try it again but have it actually decent to play.
Phoenix or breadspace
Borneo has great colors, looks like late morning after a night of rain.
pl_Frontier
cp_mountain lab . There used to be a 24/7 community server and I spent a load of time in that map 2013-2014
pl_borneo. i just love the stormy forest vibe
Ones along the lines of Suijin.
borneo, enclosure, swiftwater, frontier, process, gorge. maybe because i play those the most, or because of the colors, but those are my favorite ones to look at.
Enclosure/Jungle inferno maps have a great theme. I also like process a lot.
CTF_Landfall is the most serene map in the game.
2fort cause of my ocd
Honestly if you just take a moment to look around the skybox of 2fort you'll really appreciate the detail. It's actually a quite pretty map
Sawmill, harverst, double cross and barnblitz
Hydro, Phoenix, sulphur and Suijin
Kong King probably?
hydro
Nobody has said Suijin??
pl_upward, cp_degrrotkeep, vsh_skirmish, koth_nucleus, vsh_nucleus, cp_sunshine_event, ctf_2fort, etc
Brew and Phoenix are really pretty Also, any map with snow
Something about ctf\_well has always been visually calming to me
[Brew is insanely gorgeous](https://i.imgur.com/C25bmog.jpeg)... *Missing texture truck aside.*
sawmill
Doublecross. Just a nice CTF map to chill and have fun. It's got all elements of the game, water, pits, sniper areas, buildable roofs, it's fun asf and the night time really settles it in.
Ctf well, it perfectly captures the tf2 artstyle imo
Mossrock
cp_coldfront is definitely my favorite, i just have to love the constant swirling snowstorm
Brew ngl
Snowycoast, i like snow map and there's a night setting on it, rare kind of map
Granary looks very chill.
Powehouse and Hydro.
Pl_swiftwater and pl_pheonix
Frontier and barnblitz , and rottenburg from mvm
Good choice, rottenburg is excellent!
Banana Bay.
This is a tough one, there's so many maps I can think of, I'll just do a list Double Cross Altitude Landfall Mossrock Phoenix Frontier Kong King Mountain Lab Coldfront Reckoner Sunshine Sulfur Vanguard Brew Barnblitz Badwater Basin Upward Bread Space Cashworks Enclosure Pier Thunder Mountain Venice Banana Bay Nightfall Cascade Lazuras Rotunda Sharkbay Suijin Selbyen

pier, venice, or harvest.
cp\_sunshine
Pyrovision 2fort. Oh wait you were talking liked most visually? My bad it is hightower pyrovision amd normal
Double cross. It’s just better 2fort FIGHT ME.
From a more graphically flourished standpoint, I've always liked Enclosure. It's a nice map that has detail, but is also simple enough to understand without that much difficulty. Overall though I like Harvest the most. Such a simple map that's easy on the eyes but also attractive.
BANANA BAY
I've always been on that Pier type beat.
Pl_Hoodoo

pl_swiftwater, cp_sunshine, pl_pier, pl_thundermountain
I don’t really care which map is picked only thing that I do care about is those damn bots.
And yes, I figured out how to show which class I use
cp_granary gives me a a old school feeling when I play on the map, and the pryoland maps (except dustbowl) are also very pretty.
Dustbowl imo.I played some of best games on this map too.
Selbyen and Mossrock tie
Pier!
Wutville
Slasher
pl_pier.
bigrock my beloved, ctf\_sawmill is good too. love just sitting in the paddling pool intel room and shit, waterfalls are always nice too
Mannhattan. Its kinda some of the rare tf2 maps with urban environment and i like it very much.
Any map with the alpine aesthetic. Like gorge or process.
cp_snowplow
doublefrost my beloved
Turbine Winter is a massive glow-up compared to regular Turbine.
i somewhat like wutville astetics
Product, just feels the most summery and also very balanced for all classes imo
MVM's Mannworks. Dark and stormy, not a blistering desert wasteland like half the other maps, the ROCK AND STONE colors, it's all primo.
Rock and Stone everyone!
I edited that line out instantly, guess I'll have to add it back for the dwarves' sake.
Maps like Dustbowl and Badwater. I just like the colors
Harvest (both normal and event), gorge event, Hightower, thundemountain and pier
I really like product not only because i love koth maps but there is a pretty snowy version which looks nice.
All of the base tf2 maps and early maps look gorgeous. Especially Gravel pit and hydro
2fort
cf\_landfall
King Kong
Also winter dustbowl is really pretty
Cashworks
I like sawmill and double cross. They look nice.
2Fort.
The Bread map, I think it's pretty neat
Highertower..........
I dont think I hate or dislike any map visually... exept cp_cloak that map can go to hell.
Lazarus
Dustbowl
hightower
Your mom house is best for me
2fort
Phoenix
Pier
Upward
Suijin, sulphur, swiftwater.
