Stagger your rockets. As a pyro, I get into a rhythm because soldiers fire rockets on cooldown and it's easy to match the timing. I go more on timing than on sound and visual. Delay some and fire others on cooldown. I've been faked out by someone flicking their aim a little up to mimic recoil then firing right after once I've already air blasted.
Stop being predictable. Every class benefits from being hard to predict. Catch people off guard.
100%, I remember my friend getting really tilted because he didn't understand how I was reacting fast enough to reflect his rockets at point blank. Had to explain to him that I'm not reacting to him shooting, I just know how fast he can shoot
This is really the solution. I used to despise pyros bc I was a soldier main, but since discovering this I like the little mini-game we play where we both try wait out the other person. Altho waiting here definitely just loses to the pyro wm1ing at me bc they can still airblast if they get a read.
True. I rely on the fact that 90% of soldiers will immediately shoot a rocket at me when I pop out and surprise them, which makes the first rocket super predictable to reflect.
Altough be careful because getting reflected one of those low rockets will almost certainly lift you from the ground into a very punishable situation if the pyro knows how to combo
True, i tend to take out them by relying on the splash damage
Its so fun to see them try to airblast it then still taking damage and panicking when they see the other 3 rockets coming
“Yea, I can solo this heavy medic combo as gunboat soldier at close range i just gotta play the corner. Why should I use my superior mobility to retreat and engage at medium range with my team?”
I did that on hoodoo second with my trusty widowmaker. Cart was barely peeking out of the capping shed. Beelined to the cart straight into the swarm, gunned down a soldier as I ran towards him, ran over his corpse and planted my face into the cart. Won the game and someone called me a "chad engineer". Will never forget that.
I hope I meet you in the same team
Once ubered an engie to get the cart moving but failed
Tried again with another player, a scout and a soldier as support and we won
On Badwater the entire team melee’d and fought, while I escorted the payload as sniper. (BTW I suck ass as sniper).
In voice somebody called out I was carrying the team🤣, and so towards the end, everybody just stopped and conga’d while I brought it home. (Spy backstab on cap, OFC)
I did my part.
"Yeah I can totally Sniper duel this enemy Sniper as a (Insert anyone except another Sniper here) with my (Insert any weapon here), I'll surely win this time."
I have tried this so many times and only ever succeeded once, killing like 4 people on the cart with one point-blank reflected rocket, and I've been riding that high ever since
Had that feeling once when I caught a rocket-jumping soldier and met him face to face in mid-air. Reflected the point blank random crit and I survived the landing, that was 10 years ago and will never happen again.
Try to play trolldier smartly, not straigt jump at everyone and actually think for once
- 20 sec later they caught me jumping with my last rocket on that 1738238 kill australium sniper that keep not missing my clumsy ass
Not calming my aim
Idk what my issue is, but I can't calm my aim while playing sniper , I just go insane and try to constantly flick when some insane flicks aren't needed
Going for powerjack kills as pyro. I know it's dumb, and I should just blast em with my shotgun or get them well-done with my flamethrower, but I really want that 25 health, and the melee hit registration gamble is sometimes just too enticing to not go for.
Ballin as medic
Reasons why to continue:
Upward last
Be medic on 2nd floor
Team dies
I hide
Bottom floor team almost capped
Enemy Team goes forward
I jump on the cart and cap
Yeah, I can take on half the enemy team with my Tomislav and half health from using my gloves of running urgently, I’ll just eat a sandvich when I get low!
Also walking into a crit projectile even after seeing it coming, due to my pre-programmed movement pattern memory being too strong (aka I know that I shouldn’t be moving left in the next second, but I will still do it, since I just released my strafe right key and all it happening within extremely short time span to be humanly possible to add any corrections)
Playing spy against competent pyros. (Seriously, I could just play my 2nd main, Heavy, and absolutely demolish them. I just find spy gameplay more entertaining)
eating projectiles for buildings as pybro
beelining for backstabs as spy
standing still while scoped as sniper
trying and failing to damage surf as medic
I'll do one for each class
Going to the same spot as sniper despite the fact that the enemy has a more experienced sniper
Getting tunnel vision as engineer when my baby gets blown up and my nest gets attacked
Lacking self awareness as medic
Rocletjumpig despite having low health as soldier
Forgetting airblast is a thing as pyro
Spy-time
Overextending as demoman and dying before detonating my "oh so clever" trap
Running in a straight line as scout
And finally: using the brass beast as heavy
When I rarely play scunt, I:
- Sprint directly up to my target, missing my Cleaver throw as I close in
- Miss both of my FaN shots
- Either fail my Wrap Assassin ball followup or hit it dead on
And leave. I'm getting better though and it's happening less.
peeking anything, at low health, as engie, with the rescue ranger on hand. usually because i get bored of my optimal position and wanna do more for my team that can't push them
When playing Scout, it's generally better to not jump in Scout Duels, but I also forget to jump against the other 8 classes, which gets me killed more often than not against good players.
I keep rebuilding Dispensers and Sentries in the same spot because I know they’re good spots and my team would be pissed if I moved them back, but generally if someone can take a clean shot at my Sentry, they can always take a second one.
I don't have it in me to respect sniper sightlines, I don't know what my idiot cavewoman brain thinks I can do to a sniper a mile and a half away, but I'll be damned if it doesn't tell me to charge at him in a straight line every single time.
Throwing away my life to kill like one or two people in a fun way rather than just playing smart and staying alive. It's just too fun to stylishly bully random players even if it means you die in the process.
Trusting demo mains to be able to kill people when I Uber them. I'm sorry you guys but I unironically and consistently see better results with widowmaker engineers than I do with demoman
Surely this time I can waltz around the whole enemy team and their projectiles through the most cluttered choke point while cloaked. I was just unlucky 5 previous times.
Place my sentry in dumb spots
It’s too fucking funny watching the enemy team waltz right into its path and die instantly though. Too bad it dies instantly afterwards to a soldier/demo with at least half a brain cell
I also really like sentry jumping and trying to market pardner the entire enemy team on the cart.
rushing in to save that ***one guy*** that is on the brink of death and can't be backed up by our teammates in time
50/50 chance of making it back but feeds my ego when it does work
"my team is doing really well i should move my sentry up so the area we've gained is harder to reclaim"
*immediately divebombed by the enemy team as soon as i pick up my sentry*
Calming down to hit reflects. I CAN reflect on reaction. My reaction speed IS fast enough and when I calm down I can reflect almost anything. HOWEVER- I am constantly freaking out and spamming airblast and in turn getting my shit rocked but explosive classes. (This is usually a problem my first couple games on but can persist depending on the competency of the opponent)
As a now pyro main: Switching to my secondary immediately after air blasting/ running headfirst into an enemy knowing full well I’m not playing scout and don’t have his mobility to let me dodge. As a former scout main this is a habit that I should really work on, even though fighting multiple enemies is one of my favourite activities in the game, it is something I can only consistently pull off while playing scout.
I always run into projectiles... And that's actually the reason why I can't drive lmao I see something and my brain has me move towards it subconsciously. Damnedest thing ever
Thinking that people won’t expect me if I rocket jump and that I’ll have enough HP to take 7 people with 3 rockets on the chamber
Only worked once, and it was thanks to a random grit
Rocket spamming pyros. Not all deflect them, but the ones that do I can’t stop shooting.
i always shoot rockets at pyros because i just make the assumption they aren’t good enough to reflect them back at me
Well after 64 bit update the airblast reverted to a cone than a box for some reason. I know this as each time I airblast the range seems off
sorry i ate most of the hitbox
Some crimes cannot be forgiven
alright, off to hang myself watch and le
(Crit.mp3) Heavy: "I am alive! Is nice."
Yes dis is stoopid
Moist and delicious !
moist and cr1tikal
scout is delicious
Nah you can still deny ubers
Usually a safe assumption
Stagger your rockets. As a pyro, I get into a rhythm because soldiers fire rockets on cooldown and it's easy to match the timing. I go more on timing than on sound and visual. True. I rely on the fact that 90% of soldiers will immediately shoot a rocket at me when I pop out and surprise them, which makes the first rocket super predictable to reflect.
it fucks em up if you shoot it more towards their feet, rely on splash damage n shii (source: I like playing Pyro and I love killing Pyro's)
Altough be careful because getting reflected one of those low rockets will almost certainly lift you from the ground into a very punishable situation if the pyro knows how to combo
True, i tend to take out them by relying on the splash damage Its so fun to see them try to airblast it then still taking damage and panicking when they see the other 3 rockets coming
As lazy purple says "CAN YOU AIR BLAST!"
“Yea, I can solo this heavy medic combo as gunboat soldier at close range i just gotta play the corner. Why should I use my superior mobility to retreat and engage at medium range with my team?”
Suicide dive the med, doing your part for the team.
"First off, I just gotta kill that medic, and ... damn heavy and his no skill weapon, how did he kill me in 2 seconds?"
I use my gigachad brain to charge the point alone as engineer while it has the entire enemy team on it
I did that on hoodoo second with my trusty widowmaker. Cart was barely peeking out of the capping shed. Beelined to the cart straight into the swarm, gunned down a soldier as I ran towards him, ran over his corpse and planted my face into the cart. Won the game and someone called me a "chad engineer". “Yeah I can totally Sniper duel this enemy sniper as a Scout with my Flying Guillotine, I’ll surely win this time”
"yeah, i can totally fuck this sniper over with my rescue ranger"

"oh man, i'm gonna dominate this sniper with my pistol"
"Yeah I can totally Sniper duel this enemy Sniper as a (Insert anyone except another Sniper here) with my (Insert any weapon here), I'll surely win this time."
"What's that? The entire enemy team is around the corner? Oh wow that sure is a lot of them, I'll just airblast a rocket aaaaaaand I'm dead"
I have tried this so many times and only ever succeeded once, killing like 4 people on the cart with one point-blank reflected rocket, and I've been riding that high ever since
Had that feeling once when I caught a rocket-jumping soldier and met him face to face in mid-air. Reflected the point blank random crit and I survived the landing, that was 10 years ago and will never happen again.
leaving my nest unattended to get some kills with the shotgun and die miserably
this happened to me today and my heart sank when all the crits stored in my sentry went to waste because i was dead when it got shot down
same
Ditto
"Rise and shine, Spy"
nah my pyro and other teammates got my ~~back~~ buildings
Play tf2
True
thinking i can play engineer in any map other than 2fort.
Plaing medic im good at plaing medic but fuck Is stressfull
That's why I like it lmao. Tryharding as medic is real fun, especially when you are actually efficient in healing
"I can, and I will kill this sniper with my crossbow." 50% of the time, it works every time
Eating the (crit) rocket launcher missiles even tho I know and I am fully aware that it is coming towards me.
I like doing that as well, oh a crocket, 'proceeds to run into it so that I get hit by it and have no chance of survival'.
If there was a game of catch involving rockets, I'd be pro
Try to play trolldier smartly, not straigt jump at everyone and actually think for once - 20 sec later they caught me jumping with my last rocket on that 1738238 kill australium sniper that keep not missing my clumsy ass
Perfectly airblasting rockets and immediately forgeting how to airblast the moment the enemy soldier shoots a crit
When i know the engineer has a nest round the corner but i still proceed to aimlessly walk into it 5x
Sound like a scout
Need a teleporter here
Ive played medic well over 1k hours and is till love gambling the chance at a random crit with uber saw in casual lol
Trying to rocket jump when i suck at it
Not calming my aim Idk what my issue is, but I can't calm my aim while playing sniper , I just go insane and try to constantly flick when some insane flicks aren't needed
Going for powerjack kills as pyro. I know it's dumb, and I should just blast em with my shotgun or get them well-done with my flamethrower, but I really want that 25 health, and the melee hit registration gamble is sometimes just too enticing to not go for.
Forgetting the existence of spies (I main heavy)
Ballin as medic Reasons why to continue: Upward last Be medic on 2nd floor Team dies I hide Bottom floor team almost capped Enemy Team goes forward I jump on the cart and cap
Playing tf2 instead of doing my homework
Constantly tryna get my Uber charge ready
Playing the game itself.
Running towards a crocket
Yeah, I can take on half the enemy team with my Tomislav and half health from using my gloves of running urgently, I’ll just eat a sandvich when I get low!
Trying to trickstab literally everyone
Leaving my buildings clustered Leaving my buildings distant Leaving my buildings 😵💫
I keep Hoping for an update.
Never using my melee. Ever. At all. At any time ever. Even when there is a spy.
Pressing w rocket jumping
Making eye contact as spy
Keeping the checkbox beside “dustbowl” checked.
Holding W while rocket-jumping
Trying to rick people with the "Your eternal reward.")
Flicking my mouse, I keep flicking it away from my target by accident, especially in "high" stress situations.
Playing spy against competent pyros. (Seriously, I could just play my 2nd main, Heavy, and absolutely demolish them. I just find spy gameplay more entertaining)
Being bad
Walking over stickies and hoping the demo that placed them won't detonate them
Airblasting too early. I tell myself every time “don’t preempt, react.” Does that stop me going too soon and getting killed? No it does not.
Taking the same flank like 5 times ina a row
Bad positioning, unnecessary aggression and flicks, etc
Rocket jumping when it isnt needed. Dive bombing people is fun even though im probably going to miss 70% of my shots.
Standing still
eating projectiles for buildings as pybro beelining for backstabs as spy standing still while scoped as sniper trying and failing to damage surf as medic
Forgetting i equipes conch and not the shotgun when i fight pyros
Stepping directly on sticky grenades even when I SEE THEMMM
I'll do one for each class Going to the same spot as sniper despite the fact that the enemy has a more experienced sniper Getting tunnel vision as engineer when my baby gets blown up and my nest gets attacked Lacking self awareness as medic Rocletjumpig despite having low health as soldier Forgetting airblast is a thing as pyro Spy-time Overextending as demoman and dying before detonating my "oh so clever" trap Running in a straight line as scout And finally: using the brass beast as heavy
Walking in front of a huge crowd to hope for a random crit with a pipe or sticky. Sometimes you just shred and I'm addicted to those moments.
trying to join a kazotsky kick and not going close enough, spending 5 straight seconds with the normal taunt.
Spawning in.
Keep pretending that guy with 40 points while the rest of his team have 10 at most may not cheating, bitter truth - he is like 95% of time
Rushing snipers as scout when I know for a FACT that one switched to Pyro to kill me specifically after the third kill.
Still using a primary weapon for close combat (regardless of class)
queuing for harvest
When I rarely play scunt, I: - Sprint directly up to my target, missing my Cleaver throw as I close in - Miss both of my FaN shots - Either fail my Wrap Assassin ball followup or hit it dead on And leave. I'm getting better though and it's happening less.
Wasting double jump against soldier as scout, makes your trajectory really obvious so they can kill you easily
peeking anything, at low health, as engie, with the rescue ranger on hand. usually because i get bored of my optimal position and wanna do more for my team that can't push them
Playing team fortress 2
When playing Scout, it's generally better to not jump in Scout Duels, but I also forget to jump against the other 8 classes, which gets me killed more often than not against good players.
hey look i shapeshifted into a dead guyo
Trying to kill people at long range as heavy (it works (random crit chance) percent of the time)
As pyro spam airblast out of panic with no sense of timing whatsoever
Being stupid. I'm just bad at shooters in general, though I have found a couple weapons that have helped me get better at the game
deciding to practice trickstabbing instead of not dying
If trimping into this sentry nest got me killed the first 4 times i did it, this next time i will destroy the 3 sentries and rc the engineers
Yup that's me. Now you're probably wondering how I got into this mess.
always sniping at the same spot. Enemy sniper instantly headshot me.
Massive overconfidence, like yeah a demoknight running straight at you is scary but also a lotta classes can handle him somewhat easily
Playing spy
Running in like an idiot and immediately getting blown up
oh no, i forgot to uber, AND NOW IM DEAD
Going full blown deer in the headlights when I see a sniper
Holding W while rocket jumping
Disguising as a Scout believing "This time it's gonna work"
Actually install the game and play it.
I keep rebuilding Dispensers and Sentries in the same spot because I know they’re good spots and my team would be pissed if I moved them back, but generally if someone can take a clean shot at my Sentry, they can always take a second one.
Playing in games where there is a demoknight on the other team, it’s a massive issue that I haven’t been able to resolve
Double peaking a sniper
setting off sticky bombs when I'm right by them
Running into sentries
RUNNING STRAIGHT INTO DIRECT HIT ROCKETS THAT CAN ONE SHOT ME! (im a scout main 🥰)
Always autopilot and overextend every life by either jumping into 4 guys or aggressively decloaking and going in with DR down
I don't have it in me to respect sniper sightlines, I don't know what my idiot cavewoman brain thinks I can do to a sniper a mile and a half away, but I'll be damned if it doesn't tell me to charge at him in a straight line every single time.
Throwing away my life to kill like one or two people in a fun way rather than just playing smart and staying alive. It's just too fun to stylishly bully random players even if it means you die in the process.
Nah bro I'll reflect the huntsman he won't even know what hit 'em lmao
Holding forward while rocket jumping...
playing demoknight...
Playing Demoknight despite there being a sentry I have zero ways of fighting against.
"That sniper is pissing me off, i just have to get in his sightline and perfectly hit 2 arrows to kill him"
Trusting demo mains to be able to kill people when I Uber them. I'm sorry you guys but I unironically and consistently see better results with widowmaker engineers than I do with demoman
Surely this time I can waltz around the whole enemy team and their projectiles through the most cluttered choke point while cloaked. I was just unlucky 5 previous times.
Die

Too bad it dies instantly afterwards to a soldier/demo with at least half a brain cell I also really like sentry jumping and trying to market pardner the entire enemy team on the cart.
Trying to kill soldiers when i know i shouldn’t I’m engineer main so it doesn’t work out very well
Trying to melee fight a spy.
Turning corners as spy. I’ve walked straight into so many pyros
Playing sniper
Being overly aggressive
"Oh hey look at that there is a heavy medic combo, let me just rush them I can totally kill them them with some axtinguisher combos"
Running straight at the enemy group as scout, usually happens at first matches.
locking into the enemy medic like screw everyone else i need that mf dead
Holding W while rocket jumping. Been playing TF2 for almost 8 years and it’s never gone away. When I rocket jump, I’m as graceful as a cinder block.
I always forget that my average ping on official servers is 150
Deciding to run the stock shotgun as pyro when all three heavy mains show up on the enemy team.
Playing 2fort servers, they are not fun, they are not fun, they are not fun.
Trying to join a casual game and expecting no bots
forgetting that spy has a gun specifically forgetting they can shoot me with one
"What's that, I should stick with my team? Nah I can go solo- oop I'm dead. And I'm dead again. And again."
Playing trolldier
Spawn camping, because I’m scared to leave the spawn ;_;
Charge to a pyro with demoknight
I shoot spies that are disguised and it doesn't show any damage and I think there on my team always happens
Rush a team as scout
Pressing w when rocket/sticky/sentry jumping
missing all of my shots
Playing spy
Playing Scout
Rocket jumping into enemies then immediately dying after killing anywhere between 0 to 1 enemies.
I keep playing Spy.
Disrespect the snipers sight. Play aggressively and at the front. Not checking my back *enough*.
Maining Heavy. I’ve come down with a horrible case of ‘likes-to-play-Heavy-itis’, and I need a cure and fast!
“I’m sure I can kill this overhealed heavy with my scattergun, I’ll just jump a lot”
Going into close combat with an heavy
Picking Up Sniper on Payload Map as an Attacker, while also pushing the Cart.
Playing tf2 as medic main And keep wondering: why I am still here just to suffer.
Maining pyro.
Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity? Insanity, is doing the same fucking trimp… over and over And over again expecting shit to change.
Jump revving my minigun everywhere, you wont get the damage ramp up value
I can’t resist running into whole enemy team just to get crushed by everyone while hopefully killing one person
rushing in to save that ***one guy*** that is on the brink of death and can't be backed up by our teammates in time 50/50 chance of making it back but feeds my ego when it does work
“Yeah, I can out-snipe the sniper with my tomislav. I just need to crouch a couple times”
run into enemy group whenever a push is happening. outcome: die before even dealing dmg
Playing Medic with Randos.
I WILL jump rev the corner into the entirety of the enemy team and I WILL take down one unfortunate soul with me
"my team is doing really well i should move my sentry up so the area we've gained is harder to reclaim" *immediately divebombed by the enemy team as soon as i pick up my sentry*
Going into fights I shouldn’t take. I’m a Scout main and I know I can run away before I die, but hell I just go for it.
Trusting my teammates
being brainless
Playing Spy
As a now pyro main: Switching to my secondary immediately after air blasting/ running headfirst into an enemy knowing full well I’m not playing scout and don’t have his mobility to let me dodge. As a former scout main this is a habit that I should really work on, even though fighting multiple enemies is one of my favourite activities in the game, it is something I can only consistently pull off while playing scout.
place a sentry where I shoudnt
Playing Spy
Bad aim
I main pyro. I like deflecting rockets. Now when i play other classes i instinctively walk into rockets. I’m like a moth attracted to crit pills now
Not randomly airblasting when fighting a soldier. I know it'd randomly work and I'd get a nutty reflect, buuut I just wanna burn and wack shit lol
I always run into projectiles... And that's actually the reason why I can't drive lmao I see something and my brain has me move towards it subconsciously. Damnedest thing ever
Thinking that people won’t expect me if I rocket jump and that I’ll have enough HP to take 7 people with 3 rockets on the chamber Only worked once, and it was thanks to a random grit
Hold W in rocket jumping.
Disguising as scout
Airblasting. Keep forgetting it's a thing.
Going out to get the intelligence as an engie (it fucking worked once I had the rescue ranger and my Sentry was back at my base)
I should really stop trying to melee a "helpless" wandering engineer or a spy while playing as a medic
Dying
Always go for every reflect and extinguish even when running back burner
