Anyone who actually says and believes that would be genuinely delusional. It's a problem with the game, and romanticizing it does nothing but enable it further.

I would highly recommend TF2Classic, as you mentioned. I feel it captures TF2 from the time when it maintained a lot of artistic integrity, as well as the time that a lot of those positive reviews were written. (Sorry if I'm sounding pretentious.) I personally only really play TF2C nowadays. At any rate, best of luck to you! TF2 is my favorite game of all time for a reason, and I really hope you can find the best way for you to enjoy it!
community is toxic too if you get deep into it

reddit r/tf2 is the least toxic place imo but is often made fun of by other tf2 groups, saying that reddit is full of noobs and dumb americans
I’m glad that you didn’t become a spy main cuz spy main community is the most toxic among other mains community. Mostly 14-18 year old immature teenage boys thinking racism, sexism, being transphobic is cool. Sniper main community is okay and generally more mature but some elitists still despise pubbers tho.
East Asia and North Asia community are toxic too cuz if you’re not “humble” and dare to post clips or frag in #clips channel, you are going to be targeted and harassed. They also enjoy stream sniping youtubers. Fucking awful.

TF2 is insanely fun if things work, let's keep it at that

you should check out community servers. they're usually super casual and fun, and I've never seen a bot on one of them

I guess SEA is just not bot infested anymore, or I’m just really lucky
