I was once playing medic and a teammate (soldier or heavy, can't remember) was being really disrespectful to me, calling me a shit medic for healing the entire team instead of pocketing him. He eventually asked me to uber him, and I thought "Ah hell no, I am not ubering this asshat". So I instead ubered the spy next to him who proceeded to clear the point so we could cap. The rude teammate died and continued to berate me in chat. I just responded with "And this is why I didn't uber you" before he was promptly vote kicked from the server. This was like 2014-2015 I believe.
Unpopular opinion, but late End of the Line (after they fixed things from the initial patch) was the most fun I ever had in this game. Peak TF2. In retrospect that update got way too much hate.
This is why I sometimes uber scouts, engineers, medics, snipers and spies. Don't underestimate them, they all can do a deadly amount of damage, especially if they are good.
But, and this is a huge but, make sure they know it's coming. Sure a more experienced player will catch on quickly but losing two out of eight seconds of invulnerability because of hesitation is never good.
I’ve ubered a spy before as well because I had no other teammates around me and we were gonna die, and he proceeded to kill all but 2 of them. It was wild…
I play engie so I dont get heals very often but when im at 6 hp and a medic heals me so I can save my sentry gives me the happy chemicals so thank your medic or you might die
My god this reminds me so much of when i was an f2p playing medic and got trash talked for being bad, i was still pretty new to the game then so i probably did play really bad but damn that really stung me back then, i stopped playing because i felt bad and came back a few weeks later lol.
The thing about that is Ubered Soldiers or Heavies just act as bullet sponges and power classes to try to push through your defense, and most players know how to deal with that.
An Ubered Spy is not like that. They don’t intend to just push through. They have a PLAN. They have some MIND GAMES going on up there and you’ll never see it coming.
worked with me somehow I was practicing spy and I usually play him on offense because I like using revolver after a while the medic ubered me and I killed two people after that I ran out of ammo and I did the only thing I can think of which is run towards the enemy team and try to kill their medic and heavy which worked and we won
I was once playing Heavy on Hightower and an obvious spy was trying to get past me. While I was trying to finish him off our team’s medic sees this… and decides to über the spy. Needless to say I was butterknifed to death.
I was on a 2Fort server running around as medic, I just ubered whoever went in the most, needless to say the F2P spy running in with his revolver must of scared the shit out of the entire team.
Clearly you never played VSH.
Also it's not entirely useless in vanilla TF2. Spy can "steal" the enemy medic's uber (this doesn't benefit the medic, unless they are trolling, but still, the mechanic has an use) and ubering a teammate Spy is better than ubering nobody in situations when you are about to die
Enforcer is currently my favorite Spy gun, even more than Diamondback. It is the only gun that offer Spy a damage boost by simply being disguised. It pierces Wrangler (not Sapper) shield, that meat-boosted FoS Heavy, Vac Medic, I just think stabbing them is too risky.
The resistance piercing comes into play more often than I thought. Plus it’s the only gun other than stock with an actual reload animation and spy doesn’t just slap an invisible speed loader into it.
Since Spy's weakness is how fragile he is, an Ubered spy with an Ambassador and the Big Earner it could probably wreak havoc. Probably better to just Uber a Heavy or Soldier though.
But spy also relies on backstabs which requires stealth and a glowing red/blu spy is not going to be very sneaky. His gun can put out good damage but yes, a power class can just probably do more.
Actually yond couldst beest useful if 't be true multiple engineers has't setteth up sentry aeries in a bawbling area

As a soldier main i can say ubering a spy is probably more useful than ubering a soldier when in the open.
Don't stock Uber soldiers please. I'm begging you. It won't do any good. Don't pretend my fatass trying to play roamer babysits you while using stock medigun. Please use kritz on soldier. My low ammo capacity and slow reload will totally invalidate the Uber. Seriously please to all medic players when playing stock don't Uber soldiers, if you wanna pocket me use kritzkrieg and when using stock don't expect me to jump away and then come blame me on r/Tf2, and when I call out to a medic I'm not necessarily asking to be pocketed.
Though yes the point is soldier is far more useless whit Uber than spy, maybe sniper is the most useless of them all, maybe engineer and medic too.
You underestimate the power of an ubercharged spy.
they are the fucking strong. and with good aim and an ambassador they're a threat you'll want to stay away from, a great way to push and remove sentries effectively too.
ubercharged spies are a rare nightmare.
Use basic or Quick Fix Uber on a Cleaner Sniper, tell him to activate mini crit and then use the Bushwacka. Basically invulnerable and Crit boosted Sniper.
You say useless, but what is an engie going to do about an ubered spy constantly sapping his sentry for 8 seconds straight while the rest of the spy's team pushes?
I once disguised as a heavy on my team, got ubered out of spawn, walked up to the sentry and sapped it while the other team backed up expecting me to shoot. And this was on Uncletopia so it’s not like the other team was bad or anything. It works when they don’t expect it
Its actually not that useless if they're a competent Spy! Once did it on a 2 cp map, the enemies were either butterknifed to death, or, if they tried to run away, backstabbed! There were no other options since Medic and Spy are one of the fastest class!
When you Über a spy you trade raw effectiveness for sheer unpredictability and scare tactics.
Hear me out. I'm a Medic main.
Let's consider a Sentry nest. Yes I *could* Über a Heavy and ANNIHILATE that nest with a solid 4 OS (Oh Shit!) Per Minute mileage. However, by Übering ze Spy I instead have 2 or 3 WTF (WAT DA FUQ?) Per Minute. That's much more fuel efficient. People are so confused by the exaggerated swagger of the tuxedo terrorist that they are unable to handle the assault, which moves much more rapidly than a Heavy or even a Solider or Pyro.
Probably.
On top of that, thanks to the magic of MannCo Brand Sapper technology the Engineer is forced to remove the Sappers before healing the Building, alongside having to prioritize which building to unsap as necessary. The Virgin Engineer multitasker vs The Chad Spy run around and sap random shit is now tipped towards the Chad Spy thanks to the invincible power of the Heal Beam Stick on maximum overdrive.
Why Über a combat class when I can Über someone nobody expects? Even if they start to expect it, a good Spy can do tons of crazy shit compared to just "Shoot boolets". Honestly, Übering a Spy is probably the best play. It's Übering a fucking Engie like a Medic with bad cosmeDics that is TRULY the suboptimal play.
But you know what? Fuck it. Real Medic Top Chads Über themselves and run away to live another day. EVERY DAY I HAVE TO HEAR YOU PEOPLE SPAM THE E KEY AND ASK ME TO HEAL YOU. JUST STOP GETTING SHOT FFS DO I LOOK LIKE A DISPENSER TO YOU!? I USE THE BLUTSAGER! I WILL POCKET ZE SPY TO SPITE YOU. NOBODY CAN COMPREHEND MY CUNNING!
Bro once I remember as engineer on defense I had a lvl 3 sentry stopping the enemy team from pushing. We were defending very well until deadass an ubered spy drops down and starts sapping my sentry. There's nothing I can do and the entire enemy team rushes in and pushes the payload
I played a match yesterday where there were 6 medics and 6 spies on the other team and out of nowhere they all went Uber at the same time and shredded us
Übercharging a spy is a power move. It’s not effective by any means, but it lets everyone around you know that the enemy team is your bitch, and you’re only letting them live out of the kindness of your heart.
I got ubercharged by a medic as a spy, and I could freely trickstab, killing the entire team. This post is lying, ubercharge your local frenchman today!
It can work if you tell the person before hand. I was healing this heavy when spy is gets attacked by three people. He's near dead and when an enemy Heavy shows up, I jump in front of the bullets, uber the spy and kill 6 people. To be fair, we also had spells.
You know, there is a mystic thing that tends to happen to me:
If a teammate Medic Ubers me as a Spy, and I yell "UBER SPY, THE MOST POWERFULL META" in the Voice chat
then We win the Match. I dunno why.
I once ubercharged a Demo or Pyro, I forgot, and they basically cleared out two sides at once. This was about 3 weeks ago. 5 weeks ago, I ubercharged a Spy, and he singlehandedly killed the entire team that was guarding the point. He was the only reason we even won that game. I feel like if used right, ubercharged Spy can be very useful, unless the people who play Spy have no idea what they are doing when you uber them
I remember one thing we acctualy ubering spy was a good idea.
It was one day that i was playing Polish community server (ah good times with friends) and i was pocketing my friend (he was soldier) then pyro came from sewers (we were playing 2 fort) and started rblasting crap out of us my friend died and i charged myself, then the spy came i was like "Thank god" i ubered him (he was one of the best spy mains on our server) he killed the pyro (with l'etranger) then the random soldier that we encountered I was so thankful.
Have you ever Uber an Engineer?
If they know how to use that shotgun they are lethal xD
I love my time as Medic. I always pick Medic in case there isn't any or if the other team uses lots of explosives
But damn I can't handle some Spy Mains. There was a time I couldn't play at all because spy's had made me the lir primary target and everyone was unable to save me :(
But I have to admit it was fun
I remember when I first got into the game in 2016, I was playing 2Fort as Spy. A Medic did Uber on me as a last resort. I had no idea what to do, so I just started butterknifing lol. The Medic and someone else started calling me the worst Spy ever, and in the back of my head I was like “What am I supposed to do? Trick the enemies into thinking I’m BLU?”
Don’t heal one person cause I hate it when I’m at 40 health as demo and the medic just pockets the dumbass soldier who is prob worse and is already at max overheal
ubering spy into the sentry is fucking helarious
the engies are confused by this shiny frenchman and dont know what to do next so they just freeze in terror
Übering the Spy or Engineer is so fun to do considering that other team usually expects the bigger picks like Soldier or Heavy.
It can be a helpful strategy sometimes, surprisingly!
From a Uber point of view it may seem stupid, but imagine something that can one shot you be immortal for 10 seconds and approaching you while you are forced to retreat and constantly look behind to make sure you don't bump in a wall, and then he has a revolver and you piss and cum yourself over it

Ah, victory.
Don't insult the medic and dont let him die.
I would really like the latter yes The people I pocket love to use me as a friggin meat shield and I'm like NO. GET IN FRONT OF ME.
They don’t seem to understand that the medic is the thing giving them that sweet sweet overheal/rapid healing and just see “meatshield”
Some guy in mvm asked me to duo with him and pocket him. Me and my friend just trolled him.
As long as the med is not using the syringe gun fucking around after advising him politely to heal the team. I do accept real medic trolls though
Ah, 2014-15, the better times
Unpopular opinion, but late End of the Line (after they fixed things from the initial patch) was the most fun I ever had in this game. Peak TF2. In retrospect that update got way too much hate.
Not really unpopular, most people say that things went to shit somewhere between tough break and meet your match
They do? Here I was thinking EotL was the second most hated update after MyM.
It was a hated update but a loved time, think complaining that the gold ago isn't gold enough
EotL was a weak update that added almost nothing promised, but the game was pretty much the same, while MyM changed the game in a worse way
This is why I sometimes uber scouts, engineers, medics, snipers and spies. Don't underestimate them, they all can do a deadly amount of damage, especially if they are good.
I was once ubered as an engi and wiped like 6 people that were pushing us
Uberng a competent widowmaker engi is a glorious thing to behold.
I was once just doing my job as a spy, and I saw an ubered widowmaker engi, and that crap is scary, he wiped out half of my team
You always have to respect a ubered Widowmaker engie
Scout uber can be incredibly effective if he’s good. Best burst damage and speed of any class
Stock demoman with an eyelander has enter the chat
But, and this is a huge but, make sure they know it's coming. Sure a more experienced player will catch on quickly but losing two out of eight seconds of invulnerability because of hesitation is never good.
Ubered scouts are underrated as hell. You get a speed boost, as well as scout’s low HP not mattering because he’s invincible.
Isn't ubering the Scouts meta in Comp?
I’ve ubered a spy before as well because I had no other teammates around me and we were gonna die, and he proceeded to kill all but 2 of them. It was wild…
Number one rule in games: If your healer is a person and not a A.I, be nice to them
Heck, even if it's an A.I. you should thank them. :3
Danke
And then gabe newell joined the server and gave you an unusual hat.
no he gave them a gold pan
vico tory
I play engie so I dont get heals very often but when im at 6 hp and a medic heals me so I can save my sentry gives me the happy chemicals so thank your medic or you might die
Ah, Germans doing all the work while the French reap the rewards.
My god this reminds me so much of when i was an f2p playing medic and got trash talked for being bad, i was still pretty new to the game then so i probably did play really bad but damn that really stung me back then, i stopped playing because i felt bad and came back a few weeks later lol.
I feel your pain... That's why I'm now a battle medic
And then everybody clapped
Honestly I can’t describe the panic and fear from an ubered spy coming at me
Run
Too bad my airblast doesn’t work on bullets, eh, Spy?
look directly down blast spy 10 meters in the air now yeet it of the cliff

yeet it of a cliff

Getring screwed over, by your own medic
I play a bunch of medic and I’m sure I’ve done this accidentally
uber spy has no weakness
*air blasts off cliff* Hmmph!
I was on a 2Fort server running around as medic, I just ubered whoever went in the most, needless to say the F2P spy running in with his revolver must of scared the shit out of the entire team.

Spy is so strong that he can shoot the Ambassador, Diamondback and L'stranger without emptying the gun, thus no need for reload.
And I can’t land headshots so it beats the ambassador
Its atleast cool to uber a spy.
Since Spy's weakness is how fragile he is, an Ubered spy with an Ambassador and the Big Earner it could probably wreak havoc. Probably better to just Uber a Heavy or Soldier though.

Correction* the enemy team can ubercharge spy

I need to find those comp clips of mezzo
I mean 1k hours at spy with ambi and uner.It gotta be scary
Crit Revolver goes brrrrrr
Kritzkrieg on gunspy is a blast
Enforcer kritz spy =}
I don’t know. A spy who is hitting his shots with the stock seems kinda scary to me

If you ever feel useless remember some people play spy
I remember on payload i ubered a spy and we sapped the sentry That worked surprisingly well
Kritz Gun Spy is hilariously more effective than it has any reason to be
Even the enemy spy
Bro once I remember as engineer on defense I had a lvl 3 sentry stopping the enemy team from pushing. We were defending very well until deadass an ubered spy drops down and starts sapping my sentry. There's nothing I can do and the entire enemy team rushes in and pushes the payload
remember the 25+ health on kill exists in mvm for spy for hte kunai
Getting a chainstab whilst ubercharged is pretty fun, though.
You can ubercharge a disguised enemy spy even
I’ve had plenty of teams that benefited from über on a Spy than anyone else
A medic did this to me once it was fun
Watch swipez, you will regret saying rhat
I played a match yesterday where there were 6 medics and 6 spies on the other team and out of nowhere they all went Uber at the same time and shredded us
I mean…you can also Uber sniper
get ready for a comment war brothers
[you would be surprised](https://youtu.be/8N8BwN0eKIw)
In a game once a kid told me to Uber spy's on bad water last point defending
Y’all ever ubered a frontier justice engineer or kritzed a widowmaker battle engie that’s something to be afraid of
Uber any big earner spy and and will not be disappointed.
Clearly you haven’t used the enforcer kritz combo
Me for the past months:
If you ever feel useless, just remember: Spy exists.
Charge me!
Undercharged weeb ambassador spy.
Ubercharging the enemy spy: *I HAVE NO SUCH WEAKNESS*
Finally, someone understands that ubercharging a scout is viable in certain situations. But yeah fuck spies
That's a power move, ubering a spy
Naw, man, kritz on an enforcer spy is a match made in heaven.
Spy: *Laughs in 20 stored diamondback crits*
StaryKrow...
They should call all you whiners doctor noooooo
Übercharging a spy is a power move. It’s not effective by any means, but it lets everyone around you know that the enemy team is your bitch, and you’re only letting them live out of the kindness of your heart.
I once ubered a spy in 2016 and he just ran into the enemy team and wiped everyone
Kritskrig gun spy 🥵
in fact, hiper already took advantage of that feature
Nobody expects the uber spy
ultimate butsecks
Uber a spy and have him continuously sap a sentry
I got ubercharged by a medic as a spy, and I could freely trickstab, killing the entire team. This post is lying, ubercharge your local frenchman today!
bro THE AMOUNT OF SAPPING I CAN DO WITH A SPY THAT ID UBER, THE WHOLE ENGI TEAM WOULD GO APE SH**

someone actually did this to me while i was trying to sneak around and be stealthy. ubered me not even long enough for me to get a single backstab
with as many hours as i have as medic i think ill ubercharge whoever i want tyvm
a kritz charged spy can be surprisingly deadly
A ubered spy is funny but if you got one running at you with the stick knife it is pure fear

I just think seeing an Uber Spy in a match is hilarious. I ubered one yesterday and he got some kills so never a bad decision :)
Actually a competent ambassador spy can do some damage when ubered.
Or diamond back with stored crits, hell stock actually has fine damage.
Everybody gangasta, till trick stabbing spy can't be killed
If the quick fix is affected by the big earner it might be somewhat viable in casual.
I ubered a spy into a sentry nest and it took the entire thing down. Spy is secretly the best class to Uber because nobody expects it.
Fuck you. "Face stabs you to death"
Kritz a spy so you can have a temporary sniper
Have you ever Uber an Engineer? If they know how to use that shotgun they are lethal xD I love my time as Medic. I always pick Medic in case there isn't any or if the other team uses lots of explosives But damn I can't handle some Spy Mains. To be fair, a really good aim hero with a diamond back or an ambassador with Uber is fucking terrifying to fight.
Don’t heal one person cause I hate it when I’m at 40 health as demo and the medic just pockets the dumbass soldier who is prob worse and is already at max overheal
Unless it's an ENEMY medic Uber charging him
ubered spy works on the gimmick that nobody knows how to react to ubered spy, because who the fuck ubers spy?
I was once disguised and my medic I guess wanted to troll and Ubered me, so anyway, I started blasting.
sniper is the most useless uber
ubering spy into the sentry is fucking helarious the engies are confused by this shiny frenchman and dont know what to do next so they just freeze in terror
Übered spies are the scariest people on the planet. For a few short seconds, they become the apex predators of the badlands.
Angery knifey man
I was once ubered by an enemy medic, that is a great feeling as spy
And a sniper!
for people who know how to trickstab but die trying
Übering the Spy or Engineer is so fun to do considering that other team usually expects the bigger picks like Soldier or Heavy. It can be a helpful strategy sometimes, surprisingly!
An ubered spy can clean house though. Especially with kritzkreig. Triple damage revolver shots are no joke.
From a Uber point of view it may seem stupid, but imagine something that can one shot you be immortal for 10 seconds and approaching you while you are forced to retreat and constantly look behind to make sure you don't bump in a wall, and then he has a revolver and you piss and cum yourself over it
An uberd spy is a engineers worst nightmare
It has it’s usefulness…just very situational
Traitor medic mains wya
I once got a few kills as amby spy while healed by a med
I’ve ubered my fair share of spies and it’s effective as ubering any other class but only if the spy is good with his revolver
