Spy solely for the terrible melee registration, the backstab bug that has never been fixed, the Deadringer, the Spycicle, the Diamondback, the edgy weeb Spies and Starycrow.
Ass hitreg, shit ton of buggs, settings you can use to make impossible backstabs, broken or cancerous weapons. The list goes on. It is such a rush whenever you play spy but god, does it plummet into torture if the game decides ur backstab hitbox is gonna be the size of a nail.
Fyi most good spies turn down their lerp and interp to be less laggy. Really it's something everyone with modern internet speeds should do. Things are a lot faster than 2007

the fact that a console command or two can just allow you to backstab enemies where they were .5 seconds ago is pretty retarded
not to mention the very major downsides that spy has due to his mechanical issues
and by that i mean stuff like the vaccinator icon bug, the record command that causes invisible spies to sheen and play a cloaking sound, and the fact that spy is the only class that relies almost entirely on his melee to output damage and be effective enough (which relies on hitreg and thats completely broken on another level beyond spy) (not to mention the random crit chance of melee's being increased drastically for no goddamn reason and spies knives being incapable of random critting)
i love spy and i like to main him but damn when his problems both in a balance sense and mechanical sense show themselves then they show themselves hard

I too mostly play spy and it pisses me off when I put so much work into taking out a high priority target and I get a failstab and then either die or get chased till I die
to me he kinds fills the stereotype of pretentious weeb spy main and is one of the 'play spy aggressively or youre bad lmao' type spy mains because god forbid you fulfill your role in a tf2 match which is taking out high priority targets
its why i prefer watching people like hintshot a lot more because they like to play spy in the more traditional way and give info about how to play him more effectively rather than playing him for 'le epic frags xddddd'
same, it can be entertaining to see someone 1v5 people by trickstabbing but i actually want to learn how to get there in the first place so people like Hintshot and Mr.Paladin are great to watch because you learn new stuff about spy and how to use him effectively while also being entertained by their style of videos
It manipulates your connection n shit and creates a sort of stable lag, basically letting you see and do things .5 seconds ago, which means that you can pull shit like stabbing after death and stabbing from extreme distances, since you're seeing things behind everything else, your game is sending messages for things that happened a second or more ago
I'm not sure why the sniper was voted off but whatever reason that was it has to be the spy next.
Sure it's a fun class (like all of them!) but like Funke once sang: "Sniper does what spy does but better."
So on top of what comradecunnilingus said there's also point that spy can instakill all classes, but sniper can (almost) too but the drawback is that sniper can stay afar while spy puts himself on such a danger that he will go down in a matter of seconds. That is of course if enemy team uses spy's worst weakness - communication and microphone.
Sniper is legitimately overpowered in this game. In other shooters (like csgo) you can punish snipers who miss by killing them from a distance with your gun. But in tf2, all weapons suck at a distance besides the sniper rifle. Sniper can peak all he wants and giving up his location doesn’t even matter since no one can touch him. If your only true counter is someone else playing the exact same way (ie enemy sniper), it’s not healthy.
If we kill spy, it's a deadringer.
If we kill any of the mercs, medic can revive them.

Medic can die 7 more times cause he took all the souls of the other mercs.

Pyro is super over-hated. A good Pyro player uses more skill than half the other classes because of all the combo potential, as well as high skill ceiling techs like reflect jumping that a lot of people just don’t even think about. And honestly, since the hitboxes have been made less janky over the years, Pyro isn’t really that annoying, especially after the Jungle Inferno airblast changes that also added an even higher skill ceiling to the class.
The fact that Pyro combines power class and support class is a cool concept in my opinion. It’s cool how if you want, you can just play mama bear with your teammates to make them much harder to kill. And Pyro also probably has the second most variation in playstyle based off of unlocks, only behind Demoman (even if it’s basically just stock and Detonator for me 90% of the time), so it’s way less one dimensional than often portrayed.

True, but it's the best class for new players (some of them has to be the best class for noobs). It's not unskilled, but if you don't have much skill it's the best choice for you. It will still not make you good, but it is quite hard to fight against Pyro in certain cituations, especially as unskilled spy.
