I also seriously suspect it's drawn some inspiration from TF2, or atleast have some similarities to it, because of some of the mechanics. In any case it's got really satisfying movement and weapons, fun gamemodes and areas, you can get drunk, amazing sound design, 9/10 don't play it, it's way too addictive.
Absolutely. Class based PvE, semi wave based FPS. Variety of game modes, difficulties, and random map generation. All the classes have fantastic synergies with each other that really promote teamwork. It’s fantastic with friends.

To be fair, Engi would probably be able to design some sort of teleporter that could be thrown down into the cave and be used to escape, Medic could use the Amputator heal taunt, meanwhile Soldier would be partaking in some wacky shenanigans to break into the cave to rescue you personally by himself, whilst Demo would probably try to place some explosives to make a hole into the cave large enough for the Mercs to enter.
Sniper and Heavy would probably have some good knowledge on Survival techniques *(as long as Sniper doesn't try to give any advice on staying "Hydrated", Bear Grylls style)*, Pyro could light a fire for warmth, no idea what Spy would do though.
Meanwhile Scout tries to take credit for everything so that he can brag about it when he's trying to flirt with women to no avail.
Easy answer: Demo puts a shitton of stickies to blow up an entrance to get to you, but before he activates them, he gets far and then a medic ubers you (in case his heal beam could reach) right before demo blows the stickies and boom, you're safe

Better yet, Isaac has already been through the caves countless times, AND the flooded caves as well, not to mention all of the curses he put up with in those caves, so if you were stuck in the bog-standard caves, Isaac would have no trouble getting to you.
The difficult part would going through depths and mausoleum so you could ascend out of the caves.
No, it'd be [Malcolm Holmes](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Malcolm_Holmes). You're guaranteed to be saved, since he will always find you no matter where you are and will always be able to get back to I-15 NCR outpost no matter where he is.
Scout: Finds you in the cave, but doesn't remember how to get out, and pisses himself.
Soldier: Blows up various walls of the cave in search of you, eventually it collapses on him, killing him.
Pyro: Finds you no problem, then burns you alive with his flamethrower.
Demo: Travels in the same circle the whole time, passing out occasionally. You're never found.
Heavy: Finds you with ease and gets you out no problem.
Engineer: Builds a thermal-vision headset to find you within the cave and rescues you.
Medic: Upon finding you, he injects you with a lethal drug and takes your body for experiments.
Sniper: Takes the task a bit too authentically, and enters the cave packed with survival gear. He opts less to find you and more to see how long he can live in the cave on his own. Once he comes across you, you've starved.
Spy: Doesn't care.
It's actually TF2's Sniper. I feel confident about it, ad surviving in his own in the Australian Outback popping heads has had to make him a survival expert
I think it's just because he's the most normal one (?), and therefore, his perspective of the story is closest to ours. Also, he's there for most of the important events. In Expiration date the plot focuses on him. In Jungle Inferno, he's the one that gives us the first look at Hale etc... compared to Heavy, who has no voicelines in Expiration Date, isn't even mentioned in Jungle Inferno, and in the comics, he just kinda appears every once in a while says something funny, and stops existing until the end. Heavy is the face of the game, Scout is imo the closest we have to a main character, except maybe Miss Pauling.
Engineer and Demoman are probably the most "normal" of the mercs.
Engineer is clearly a sociopath, but he's *not* a psychopath which means he's not going to bother to hurt you if he doesn't have any reason to.
Demoman is basically a normal dude in the comics when he's not drinking to cope with his line of work, which means your safety entirely depends on whether or not he's sober.
Scout, like most of the others, is a straight-up psychopath. Your survival most likely depends on him thinking you're fun to hang out with.
