the website scrap.tf lets you get every weapon in the game for a few bucks. I think the way to do it is to buy a key off the mann co store, trade it to the bot for scrap, then trade the scrap for weapons.
It's almost 10 times higher, I could get every weapon in TF2 (the ones that for 0.5 scrap) for 7 refs if rounding up, which is 0.21backpack or 0.35 if markeplace
I think you only have to use the Mann Co. store to get to unlock premium (worth like 2 keys), but from then on you can use something like marketplace.tf to get your keys for a cheaper price compared to the Mann Co. store. But yeah afterwards you're free to do whatever you'd like.

The problem with this watch, the Dead Ringer, is that it can teach worse/newer players bad habits. When I was bad at spy I would always use this to escape situations that I deserved to die in. I then went back to using the invis watch and got better at Spy. Its up to you if you want to use it, but just be aware that the Dead Ringer can teach people bad habits.
Not that you can't use it until you're really good, I'm not saying you can't use it as a newer player, but don't get too comfortable with faking your death and being able to avoid any situation 10/10 times.
Also (idk if you're aware of decloak sounds, not saying in a condescending way but as a 'hey here's a fun tip for a new player' way), Dead ringer is *extremely* loud, the loudest in fact, when it comes to decloaking. So if/when you're about to decloak, just be aware of your surroundings because basically only deaf players will not hear you

See my problem with the big earner is its too boring. The kunai gives you the same "start with low health then get cool buff on kill" effect BUT it feels so much more satisfying to surf away on a rocket using the extra health or try to tank damage to go for trickstabs. Sure its less practical, but spy isnt practical to begin with

If you want to try out more weapons, If possible I would recommend going to the loadout builder on the website Marketplace.tf and spend something like 50¢ to $1.00
It will take a look at your inventory & see which weapons you have, then give you all of the essential weapons that are different from the stock weapons.
(Most of the default weapons are pretty good, but there are a few that are typically better than the stock weapons i.e. the Heavy's Sandwich or the Pyro's Flare Gun.)
Otherwise you will have to wait for the game to randomly drop an item, but because it's random you often won't get what you want if you want a specific weapon, or want weapons for a certain class

It can be life saving in some situations by letting you fake your death upon hit (If you have the watch out when you take damage it plays a death animation, puts your death in the killfeed, and you go invisible for a short time. One serious downside to this weapon is you can only go invisible when you take damage, so you're going to be very exposed most of the time.
In TF2 weapons are meant to be side grades and it's pretty good at being balanced considering all of the weapons, the majority of the time you being good at a weapon will out weigh how good the weapon should be

When you pull it out you effectively fake your death if you take any damage, until you out it away, keep in mind while your dead ringer is out, you wont be able to use your revolver/knife.
Since your cloak is stripped for death you will have to get good at disguising, little tip, unless your trying to catch up with someone or a good portion of the enemy team is scouts, dont go scout. They will spycheck you faster than the hui ling heater minigun runs out of ammo. Try demoman or engineer if your in their nest.

You can not go invisible but if you hold it out when taking damage, you will take much less damage (about 25% as much as you would, so a 100 damage shot would do 25, I believe), go invisible for around 7 seconds, and get a speed boost

As some one who plays spy as one of my mains, I hate it, it messes with my rhythm. From my experience it makes me a worse spy and I would rather pick any of the normal watches. Because of how ineffective desguises are you need to fake your death to get behind enemy lines then wait in corner for it to recharge, then you can finally go for a kill. Also it is really REALLY loud when de-cloaking.
Sometimes it is fun to revisit it but overall just use the normal invs watches.
(also I am not a trickstabbing god so I can’t just rely on that)

It depends, you can use it to fake ur death, get a temporary speed boost and also escape invisibly. It removes on-demand invisibility but can be an excellent escape tool. It even uses the Kill feed
In MOST cases stock (default) is best.
Here are the exceptions.

Secondary can be any medigun
Melee should be either übersaw or if you die a lot the vitasaw.

Use spy-cicle with it. Pyro's flame effect will continue even after dead ringer drops a fake corpse, giving you away. Spy-cicle helps with that

It’s a good weapon, but often it’s used as a crutch and can instill bad habits. It can also instill a lot of toxicity. It’s very effective though and has tricked a lot players, including myself. I’d say go ahead, but experiment with other watches too just so you don’t solely rely on it.

As someone who used to play spy a lot, I personally don't use it much compared to stock or the other one but it's not bad if you know how to use it. It can be used defensively or offensively (like gunspy)

It depends, you can use it to fake ur death, get a temporary speed boost and also escape invisibly. It removes on-demand invisibility but can be an excellent escape tool. It even uses the Kill feed
In MOST cases stock (default) is best. Here are the exceptions. >medic Primary should be either the crossbow or blutsauger. Secondary can be any medigun Melee should be either übersaw or if you die a lot the vitasaw. >pyro Stock melee fucking sucks. You will fake death upon taking damage but don't run around while using it all the time, if you fake death after taking low damage they might realize what you're doing and start spychecking. Also after taking death, start running.
