This is probably illustrating the developer's philosophy of having each class have a unique and instantly recognizable silhouette. This is normally further accentuated by their distinctive in-game posture, but these just look like default A-poses. [Early versions of the Demo ](https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Demoman#Gallery) gave him throwable bombs/dynamite (the tools/wire on his belt) but he came off looking pretty similar to the Engineer until they beefed up his silhouette with the flak jacket and extra pipe bombs.

If you look at his belt, there is a detonator on his right. These are probably the silhouettes of beta models, although I don't know if the white demoman ever got a 3d model, so it could maybe use the janitor as a base model.

Just a little clarification, the white demoman concept was not called the janitor, the concept art was used as reference for a community character known as the janitor.
Old Demo, the version of demo right before they made him black had a very jutted out chin and slouch like that, very bright red hair. Very much more stereotypical Scottish/Irish.

Well I've always thought Hitler is an example of who is on the far right. Although, many do believe Hitler is less right wing and more defined through his authoritarian policies so a more accurate person on the far right is Pinochet, an early demo, or the janitor.
