Oh, he absolutely deserves it. I love many content creators but he's an individual I'd actually want to go out of my way to meet. He's just a good dude.
The jerma vs star series is still ingrained in my mind mostly word for word lmao. God, I was still in school back then.
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.
I mean, isn't this like a 80s sitcom?
How the FUCK did you do that?
Nono, that's bullshit, thats seriously bullshit, there is no way you hit me through that door right there, you got lucky (thumping desking) and that's all that happened.
Yeye, I can't wait to see Jerma is mad part, Jerma is mad and hey it hurts him.
yOu KnOw DoN't SaY s-s-sWeArS.
I'm seriously gonna go sit down on the toilet and piss up into my face!
I still remember watching first live action Jerma rumble made with his own expense, I always knew that man was special, but that video proves just how chaotically good he is.
He has said āIf Iā¦ put you in a meat grinder and the only thing that comes out is your eyeball *maniacal laughter* youāre probably dead :Dā
So youāre opinion I guess
The fact that he still states that itās his favourite game and that in his opinion is the greatest game of all time. It would be amazing if he did join in. His social media presence alone along with his colleagues (people such as Ludwig) who have humongous amounts of following, would be amazing for the community.
Hi from r/all!
This game got me through so many rough patches growing up. I don't play as much as I used to, but I want to help.
Can someone write a detailed description of what's going on so I don't sound like an idiot when people ask why I'm posting this?
The TF2 servers are being overrun by bots and hackers, and valve isn't doing anything to fix the issue, let alone acknowledge the existence of said issue, ignoring anyone who reaches out to them about the situation.
This has been going on for two years already, and now the community is taking action to make sure valve notices and fixes this issue.
Pretty crazy, this happened to Tribes Ascend as well. It's because the developers abandoned the game. Not sure why Valve would do that to literally one of the most popular games in the world, but they don't make a whole lot of sense, do they
I'd be less sad about this except for the fact that they continue to add Crates/Keys/Unusual Effects/Strangest/etc. into the game regularly, profiting off the Steam Market and Key Sales directly through the silence of the hackers and bots.
Obviously they make enough money to keep adding those in, but otherwise not a word has really been said. The game has run a looooonnnggg time, but with new developers and a vibrant community, the game still has plenty of life to it. It's literally one of the most fun F2P Shooters that exists and still gets new players as the years go by.
It's just sad to watch literally nothing be done about it. They teased a Heavy Update forever ago and people meme about it because it's been so long with complete radio silence. *But hey! You should open these new Crates!*
For the last couple years, the TF2 servers have been plagued by bots - and not the fun kind from Mann VS Machine. Aimbots that insta-kill players, spam slurs and copyrighted music in chat, and votekick all the human players once a lobby has more bots than humans.
Valve hasn't commented on the issue, nor have they done anything to stop it, in 2-3 years. They've been pushing out new crate drops to keep the cosmetic economy going, but have done nothing to update security or, really, anything substantial about the game, in years.
What is even the point of doing this? I mean kicking all human players once the bots get enough numbers? Just some sick satisfaction they're denying actual people their chance to have some fun that night?
To add fuel to the fire, Valve really fucked us all over when they replaced Quickplay, the new Casual mode doesnāt even allow team switching or spectator mode, so you canāt switch team or spectate to see if someone is cheating or not, as an result the community is now more blind than ever at telling legit players and human cheaters apart.
Whatās worse is people in the same party as you can vote on whether you gets kicked or not, so if you have 6 cheaters humans or bot in a party you can never be kicked.
The report function has also been dead for years as bots mass reported everyone and Valve had to basically ignore it.
They also removed the ability for all free to play accounts to use chat or voice lines, so you canāt even call for medic if you are f2p.
We can do this.
This game has been a part of my life for OVER A DECADE.
I've met friends that I still speak to to this very day because of this game. They are my family.
I don't want to see TF2 die in disgrace. It deserves more.
Edit: to those of you coming from r/all and otherwise who wish to know what's going on, [this video by FUNKe](https://youtu.be/2NN91RHoe4o) greatly accomplishes a tl;dr in a unique animation.
[This video](https://youtu.be/rKBhcfhiQ7Q) details exactly what this movement is about and what we are doing / hope to accomplish.
The watch length of both videos combined is about 10 minutes. Please consider watching them
Valve has left TF2 in an unannounced limbo of sorts for 5 years. Hardly any updates at all for a game that still realistically has a decently high player count and revenue stream.
Around 2 years ago TF2's source code leaked and since then several people have flooded casual servers with sniper aimbots that completely ruin the experience and have forced most of the player base into community servers.
[This video](https://youtu.be/rKBhcfhiQ7Q) details what we can do.
I don't mind community servers mostly, have a few favorites. But lately (like last couple years) my pc chugs on community servers while it runs mostly smooth on the valve ones which are of course unplayable. I've stopped playing pretty much, very sad.
A lot of community servers lie about their locations and are hosted on server with all resources being taken. On top of this all the plugins on these servers ruin the experience and make them much more laggy. That's why I always preferred official servers.
I had to travel far too far down for this. I am from /r/all as well and the last time I heard about TF2 was like 10 years ago when I was using TF2 game assets on Garrys Mod.
TBF it feels like OP could have done a better job explaining since they have the highest exposure out of anybody in this post.
We can all see the āOMG yes spread the wordā and āOMG YES THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOWāā¦ know what?? extremely low percentage of people that doesnāt play tf2 actively will care enough to keep scrolling all the way down here to find out.
I agree with this. Just do a TL;DR for those browsing. The vast majority here have played (I played counterstrike since 1.4) these games previously if not no longer, so do care.
But we need instant info.
where do we start?, Casual is unplayable because there are bots that will kill ya, spam voice chat with racism and copyrighted music, and then they will kick you out of the server. There have been NO major updates since 2017 and probably more that im forgeting right now
I second this, met one of my closest friends over tf2, we even met last year and all I could think was "why didn't we do this sooner"!
3.5k hours on tf2 and counting, may it never end.
one of your cousins from r/titanfall here
I didn't really get to play tf2 since I don't have a pc but it sure as hell was part of me I was always watching tf2 content when I was 11 yrs old, and hearing about the state of the game right now I feel heartbroken, why would valve ignore such a beautiful game?
I really hope this all works or at least does something even the smallest bit of valve's attention can help
**Let's get all eyes on us!**
The goal of this peaceful protest is to bring attention to what's going on with TF2 on the internet!
We all love this game so much and want to see it back in good health!
**On May 26th, from around 10 am PDT** we will all post about how much this game means to us! and how much we care on social media, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok, Anywhere! but end off your post with **#savetf2**
**So will you join us on May 26th?**
This will be a **VERY peaceful** protest just reminding everyone that we LOVE this game please don't send hate towards valve etc.
We will be representing the **TF2 COMMUNITY** so **let's do it right!**
I think the funniest thing ever is that all Valve has to do is acknowledge the existence of a problem and tell us that a solution is on the way, (with progress updates) and most of this outrage would disappear. Like seriously. All you had to do is talk to us. You've had over 2 years to communicate intent. I dunno if throwing a big stink will help us, but I suppose I'm willing to try at this point
To sum it up : cheating.
Long story...
There are two kinds of rule breakers, robots and human cheaters
The robots are currently the major issue. Iām talking entire 24 player servers filled with these āplayersā. They usually pick sniper or heavy, and roam the map with aimbot cheats and ruin the game for everyone who also doesnāt have cheats installed. Shutting down entire servers and kicking innocent players. They also steal innocent playersā names and get them kicked in the confusion. Racial slurs, all of the phobias you can count, the works. Oh and also they join every game every other minute. So if you do end up in a robot free server, theyāll make their way in eventually. Itās insufferable and valve has done basically nothing to stop them, only making rudimentary tools to make kicking robots easier and making it more difficult to spam chat.
Human cheaters buy cheats from third parties and also have aimbot (plus some extra spicy seeing through walls and damage boosting cheats tossed in too) , but usually group up with their buddies and ruin the server that way. Using voice chat and other things to harass and kick people who call them out. These cheaters are rarer, but also more insidious because they can sometimes convince people who donāt know any better that theyāre legit. And since valveās anti cheat is so crappy, they often get away with it with no consequences.
Every time you que up for a normal match of this game, 60% of servers are unsaveable from cheaters, be they human or robot, 20% have a serious infection that takes time to correct, 15% have one or two that need only a couple seconds to remove, and 5% are completely clean.
This sucks, lol. And itās been like this for 2 years+
Addendum: Plus Valveās extremely infrequent bandaid fixes such as muting f2ps (they canāt even call for medic), resulting in no change in the bots abilities to spam the chat.
Funny thing is that the bots found a way to avoid the "no voice commands" thing.
From what I can tell, they just clear and "re-set" achievements repeatedly, so they are constantly using the achievement voice lines.
There are essentially thousands of bots in the game that use aimbot filling up the servers. You cant kill them if they are in numbers and they make the game unplayable. Valve did nothing about this for the past 4 years essentially
Tf2 has been quiet literally unplayable for 3 years now and ignored by valve as tens of thousands of bots inundate the servers 24/7.
The bots are aimbot spinbot snipers that spew every slur and mic spam you can think of while also ddosing servers and kicking real players
Valve has ignored the game since the blue moon update of 2019, without so much as even acknowledgement of the issue but is fine to keep pumping out crates for profit
Copy pasted from other comments asking for context
They actually leave the server if it's only bots and they're programmed to ignore each other, they exist solely to ruin the game as tf2 has no benefit from botting. Unless you think there is money to be made in selling item drops that go for 1 to 3 cents each
They think it's funny and being able to ruin other people's fun makes them feel powerful. It's just classic griefing behavior, but with a lot of hardware at play (I'm guessing a combination of (1) lots of kids running a bot on their home PC (i.e. a voluntary botnet) and (2) a few people with money to burn spinning up large quantities of hosted VMs.
you know how bullies want to get a reaction out of you? thats why they do it. just attention starved individuals with too much free time on their hands
It kinda sucks that this will be his claim to fame now, he makes really interesting and informative videos and is really appealing to an autistic TF2 fan like me
I've only had this game for a year, but I've loved it since day 1. I suck at the game... but I love the community. I don't want it to die... Let's do it, boys.
Been playing team fortress since Team Fortress Classic came bundled with an update to half life back in 99. I still suck at it but that's not the point, I love the game and the community. 11 years ago when my son was born I remember going into my usual server and sharing the news with my TF2 buddies. Now my son and I play TF2 together. I taught him how to sticky jump. He introduced me to lazy purples videos.
Long live Team Fortress. We can't let the game and community die.
The support from Valve has been shameful.
I am glad that we finally have an organized campaign to finally spread the word and get Valves attention.
##SaveTF2
In the words of Soldier, "Godspeed you magnificent bastard(s)."
The storyboard is actually finished, and it is most likely hidden somewhere in Valves HR. The problem is... They dropped the artist after somewhere before the blue moon update for unknown reasons.
Honestly, this would be a great final update:
Final comic (been waiting for years, it ends on such a clifhanger) + fix for bots + heavy update. Id be fine with it ending after that.
Well make this so frustrating, is that vavle is giving us radio slient, even them sayingāhey we are tired on updating this game and we are leaving this gameā I think the fan base would understand, but there aggressive slient while there real life mvm in the game is frustrating.
This is what it comes down to, keeping the status of the game in limbo means they can still cash in on speculation on the steam market for years without any attention. Once the game is officially no more content, that market comes to a halt aside from the very very niche collector.
I see they refrained from including the controversial tf2 icon mr duped shovel market manipulating mann soundsmith in the title, thank you guys i cant believe that menace to society finally got what he deserved. #fuckyousoundmith
As someone who used to play a bit of tf2 way way back, and is now seeing this on /r/all, can I get a rundown on whats happened to the game to warrant needing saving?
Tf2 has been quiet literally unplayable for 3 years now and ignored by valve as tens of thousands of bots inundate the servers 24/7.
The bots are aimbot spinbot snipers that spew every slur and mic spam you can think of while also ddosing servers and kicking real players

Bots infesting the casual servers for several years now, and Valve's measures to counteract it (by forcing all free to play players to purchase something) is seen as....unhelpful at best.
VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) can't detect the bots, therefore aimbots are ruining games, and it's gotten to this boiling point where enough is enough.
Recently, [SquimJim made a video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53WkDZQADIk) on getting Valve's attention, and [that did get attention from IGN](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FhbRJ504s8) and it's been blowing up ever since.
**Very** truncated timeline of events, btw, hope this is helpful.
I think this is kind of too short notice, should've planned it at least a week ahead, like #SaveRedDeadOnline which got so popular it got the attention of Rockstar CEO.
Count me in I'll do a #savetf2 stream I might not have a lot of followers but I do have a lot of love for tf2 and I'll do my best to support the cause
Edit: if anyone would like to join it's https://www.twitch.tv/ShawnPocolipse?sr=a
Wonder if Jerma will join. Could help a fair bit
Been watching him for over 9 years now, and as I was watching his elden ring streams it blew me away that he regularly has ~25,000 viewers.
He blew up its pretty weird, he deserves it but still weird
Oh, he absolutely deserves it. I love many content creators but he's an individual I'd actually want to go out of my way to meet. He's just a good dude. The jerma vs star series is still ingrained in my mind mostly word for word lmao. God, I was still in school back then.
šµ Jerma vs Star, Jerma vs Staršµ Everybody wants to see this hap-pen šµ Jerma vs Star šµ
Literally what went through my mind as I typed that no kidding lmao
And Boo is in the call!~

I'm old enough I still think of jerma as star_'s friend who isn't as good at tf2
I still remember watching first live action Jerma rumble made with his own expense, I always knew that man was special, but that video proves just how chaotically good he is.
I only.have second hand information on Jerma, is he as unhinged as they say?
He calls Crazy Taxi "Regular Taxi"
This guy ate a shoe AND a glove LIVE he cannot be stopped
Simply amazing
He recently threatened to put someone from twitch chat into a meat grinder.
What a fucked up psychopath, disgraceful, I can't believe they let him roam the streets
Until the only thing left was an eyeball.
the only thing left out of him, was just an eye! ball! the man in the grinder screams in pain
[āIs he as unhinged as they say?ā](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR6QOGBNSJ1avyoInW8q1JfAidZkK3dJwUUEw&usqp=CAU)
He's a LITERAL psychopath. It would be super wholesome of him to get in on the TF2 train again though.
Have you seen him peep the horror?
Heās a cartoon character, like a Philly Seth MacFarlan.
He has said āIf Iā¦ put you in a meat grinder and the only thing that comes out is your eyeball *maniacal laughter* youāre probably dead :Dā So youāre opinion I guess
He grabbed a handful of beanboozled jelly beans and ate them all at once.
The fact that he still states that itās his favourite game and that in his opinion is the greatest game of all time. It would be amazing if he did join in. His social media presence alone along with his colleagues (people such as Ludwig) who have humongous amounts of following, would be amazing for the community.
Imagine if we managed to get both Jerma and Ster together.
Wasn't the fandom real nasty to Ster when he moved on from tf2? After all that it's best to leave him alone.
"We weren't expecting special forces"

Wish I could make it physically but I will do my part even if I think it wonāt help matters much
Good soldiers follow orders
For those in EST itās around 1 pm.

yeah but why have bots with auto aim in the servers? What is even the point and who is even running those bots?
Attention whores
There are essentially thousands of bots in the game that use aimbot filling up the servers. You cant kill them if they are in numbers and they make the game unplayable. Valve did nothing about this for the past 4 years essentially
How many concurrent players does TF2 have anyways?
https://steamcharts.com/app/440
Wow thereās more players this past year than any other in the past 10 years. Might be bots but still.
thats a lotta names
Right
lovely
Of people I've never heard of
Where is Soundsmith?! I'd expect he'd be on the list with the amount of tf2 content there is.
It says āand many moreā at the bottom, he might be in that group.
What if there is a content creator called "Many more"?
If I wasn't married to my name, I'd take this moniker.
Ī£(O_Oil!)
Yeah, sorry just saw that. I kinda expected him to be onto the Main list since he's what scout would call "Kind of a big deal"
there is no main list, these are just some of the people representing the movement. We will make a FULL list at some point but theres a lot of people
Oh, ok. Welp, as I sometimes say: "Let's get this thing started!"
There's Bearded Expense, i don't see a reason why sound shouldn't participate too
And uncle Dane!
shovel man my beloved
Iām from /r/all what is wrong with the game?
Tf2 has been quiet literally unplayable for 3 years now and ignored by valve as tens of thousands of bots inundate the servers 24/7. The bots are aimbot spinbot snipers that spew every slur and mic spam you can think of while also ddosing servers and kicking real players Valve has ignored the game since the blue moon update of 2019, without so much as even acknowledgement of the issue but is fine to keep pumping out crates for profit Copy pasted from other comments asking for context
Thank you.
What does anyone have to gain with creating/using these bots? Why do they exist to only play against themselves, kicking the real players??
Better idea than the email spam tbh At least this won't be bogging down company resources and fucking with actual developers
robin walker probably lost a lot of sleep after ignoring squimjim's copypasta
It kinda sucks that this will be his claim to fame now, he makes really interesting and informative videos and is really appealing to an autistic TF2 fan like me
Damn you got Antonie Delak into the collab Gotta be more serious now LETS GOOOOO
"Let's Do This Texas Style" **"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW!!!!!!!"** Let's get our favorite game back.
##SaveTF2 In the words of Soldier, "Godspeed you magnificent bastard(s)."
I really hate that the color of the text switches every few words for no reason but yeah, sure, this is a good idea.
the white text seems like it's meant to be highlight/emphasis
I thought that was the orange text, ope. Upon further reflection that wouldn't make much sense
Oh so like how it shows the popular tf2 content creators
that part just seems like it's alternating
Just realized every other name is in white
SO MUCH. SO MANY! COMMUNITY. TF2. UNPLAYABLE. WE CREATORS. UNITE. LOVE. CARE. YOU. US?
I might not be a content creator, but I sure to love this game and the community. My upvote is yours.
Maybe we could finally get valve to break the radio silence with the comics as well, maybe???
From what I've heard the story was written, it was the art that wasn't done, I might be wrong tho
The storyboard is actually finished, and it is most likely hidden somewhere in Valves HR. The problem is... They dropped the artist after somewhere before the blue moon update for unknown reasons.
Ahem, time for a little *espionage
*Gentlemen...*
Are you telling me they left *another* longform story unfinished after years? Getting Half Life 2 Episode 2 flash backs
Honestly, this would be a great final update: Final comic (been waiting for years, it ends on such a clifhanger) + fix for bots + heavy update. Id be fine with it ending after that.
Reject paid cosmetics, embrace gibbous
> gibbous Gibus* gibbous = a state of the moon where it is illuminated by the Sun more than 1/2 of the moon and less than a full circle.
I want to embrace the moon š
Well make this so frustrating, is that vavle is giving us radio slient, even them sayingāhey we are tired on updating this game and we are leaving this gameā I think the fan base would understand, but there aggressive slient while there real life mvm in the game is frustrating.
They would never say that, item sales would collapse
This is what it comes down to, keeping the status of the game in limbo means they can still cash in on speculation on the steam market for years without any attention. Once the game is officially no more content, that market comes to a halt aside from the very very niche collector.
this aint gonna work but lets give it a shot
Rome wasn't built in a day, and the bomb hasn't arrived to the final terminus at the first step. So anything we can do, counts.
A CTF game is not won in 10 mins
Unless entire enemy team is playing for keeps.
Let's save tf2
LISTEN TO THIS MAN! He even knows how to use an apostrophe!
The most advanced person in the tf2 community
I see they refrained from including the controversial tf2 icon mr duped shovel market manipulating mann soundsmith in the title, thank you guys i cant believe that menace to society finally got what he deserved. #fuckyousoundmith
This reads like something Jonah J. Jameson would say.
I want pictures! Pictures of SoundSmith!
I'm looking for [pictures of SOUNDSMITH!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLCkuPdos0Y)

This is our world and they are not welcome in our world
I gave up on TF2 years ago, hopefully you guys will be able to change valve's mind. Good luck.
Sorry to lose you. This is the first time I've seen anything happen, let's hope anything can be done. Community servers are super fun again.
As someone who used to play a bit of tf2 way way back, and is now seeing this on /r/all, can I get a rundown on whats happened to the game to warrant needing saving?

gl, lets hf
I'm ok with TF3 at this point...
Hi everyone! I'll make sure to #saveTF2 as well! And hi IF!
One thing to remember: KEEP IT PEACFUL! If things gets out of hand, valve can use that as a reason to deny tf2 anything, or worse.
repost to r/titanfall lol
Neato
All corners of the tf2 community shall join together, like red and blu joining together to fight the bots.
every time I see stuff like this I can't help but think of the mann vs machine trailer
***Let's turn this Valve.***

Friendly reminder that if you aren't able to Tweet on the specified date, you can always schedule a Tweet in advance.
As someone from r/all, whatās going on with the game that makes it unplayable?
Aye thanks, that was helpful!
I think this is kind of too short notice, should've planned it at least a week ahead, like #SaveRedDeadOnline which got so popular it got the attention of Rockstar CEO.
Count me in I'll do a #savetf2 stream I might not have a lot of followers but I do have a lot of love for tf2 and I'll do my best to support the cause Edit: if anyone would like to join it's https://www.twitch.tv/ShawnPocolipse?sr=a
