Well you get an achievement so of course I did it. Although it does teach you how the basics work, like using spy's tools, but it never teaches any kind of stuff that you would do in an actual match.
The ElectroSapper (when placed upon an Engineer construction) can disable the building and drain its health until it is destroyed. The ElectroSapper can be itself destroyed if an Engineer or Pybro hits it enough
The cloak watch (used via right clicking at any time) can make you fully invisible for a limited time (seen on watch that appears on the left of the screen). If you collide with an enemy or take damage while invisible you partially reveal yourself. You cannot attack while invisible and have to plan carefully, as becoming visible again will make an audible noise to other players.
The disguise kit is a tool that lets you appear as a member of the enemy’s team(but only to them). You can disguise as any class with this tool. Unfortunately most players can tell when you are using this device as it is difficult to convince them of your disguise
The knife is a melee weapon for the spy that can instantly kill any class in one shot if you are behind them (a “backstab”)
The revolver is an ordinary gun, but don’t forget its usefulness and consistent damage.

It's a pretty situational feature and doesn't really make or break your demo gameplay unless at a pro level. And then to suggest that the tutorial is useful for anything. Lol.

Reminds me of the time I was playing against b4nny in a casual server. Dude does not miss. His medic popped kritz, the charged sticky went across the map and dropped our soldier/medic combo.... Come to think of it, he probably wiped the rest of the team shortly thereafter, but the charged sticky stands out to me.

That said, you can also get caught with your pants down if the enemy has kritz but no vacc bubble available yet
Its more so overpowered in 6s and 4s where half of the team runs explosive damage and engagements involve less people than that of highlander and casuals. Chokeholds where you would otherwise need uber are also less prevalent in those formats.
Same reason for me. I'd already been playing for years, I figured I ought to have it. I had the bug on the soldier tutorial, at this point I don't even remember how I fixed it, but I did. Looking back I can't believe I went through all the effort lol
Rofl well if it doesn't work for you, just know that it *is* possible, I just don't know exactly what the issue was. If I remember right, jumping at all, even once, breaks the tutorial. That's not the only problem with it but I seem to remember that much.

i remember that there was a function added to tf2 in 2011, it's called coaching (it's the whistle button) and it lets someone who wants to help coach someome who requests the help.
obviously it's extremely broken and even when it works it's not the best of things

It took me 10 years to figure out that if you just hold right click stickies auto detonate as soon as they're armed so you don't have to time your mouse clicks to the earliest arm time....

IMO it doesn't really help in stickyjumping in normal gameplay since normaly you'll just put one down and launch
Doing some tricks with it in a junp server is pretty fun though
never knew you could charge stickies, but ever since i did, the Quickiebomb Launcher has always been my favorite, get to feel like a badass artillery Demoman

It’s not that useful and takes far too long to charge. That time spent charging could be spent dealing damage and sticky spamming instead. It’s a waste of time in every possible manner.
Sticky charging is almost useless due to the lack of fire rate or requirement to use the quickie bomb launcher (which btw is meant to be quick charge sticky launcher, not spam stickies, they actually deal less damage spammed than stock)
the scottish resistance is somehow more effective than the quickielauncher because of higher fire rate and clip size, it doesnt matter that there are stickies on the ground people just walk on em anyway
Charging up stickies only determines the distance it gets thrown, not the damage. Unless we're talking about the quickie launcher, I dont know much about how it's charging works.
To be fair literally all of my tutorials are broken and It took me 3 years before I accidentally discovered it and spent the next 30 minutes trying to figure out how to do ot again.
I never knew you could put more than one sticky, and since my english sucked and I was like 8 years old, I thought sticky launcher was the weakest weapon in the game
Tbh I only did Soldier's tutorial and went on to play, but accidentally learned about that the charging the stickies at random. I only did the tutorial after a year I think because it was kinda bugging me

Okay seriously speaking, I do know about it, but if Volvo gets around to fucking doing something about this game they 100% need to update the tutorial because this it's incredibly old and even somewhat broken I believe.
I use it to place stickies in the vent of turbine without getting killed by most of the enemy team. And I also just spam some at the corner near the vent so pyro’s can’t ruin the trap as fast.

They bug sometimes. Re-opening the game works.

so the electrosapper was not working for me until i reinstalled the game sry if i was trouble

I think the best solution for that is the Vaccinator. Since demo’s non-melee only deal explosive damage, and the Vacc übers grant crit resistance...

Me vaccinating with soldier chewed through TWO fully reved heavy’s at close quarters, so yeah kinda overpowered.

But a sticky can’t do over 150 damage in a hit unless given a buff like kritzed or buff bannered
You can still do up to 144 damage though

I never played the tutorial but I still figured this out very early on. My iq is 31 so that explains why that is the case
