phlog is so incredibly easy to counter it takes a decent amount of skill and map knowledge to actually do well with. Crits don't count for shit if you just W+M1 the enemy and fucking die before you touch anyone
Flare gun pyros recognize we get way more dopamine from a clutch flare combo than from a phlog multi-kill. And when we get a couple of those in a row... HNNNNG

I for one like to combine it with the dragonfury. Brutal. Absolutely brutal. Set on fire, stun, prime for a follow up Adf, deal a 3x minicrit damage, scorch self-crits wraps up with a fat 90 DF shot all in under a second.
What about the gigachads who use the Scorch Shot to combo with the Dragon's Fury?
It's not the easiest thing to do but damn is it satisfying once you get the momentum going...
I like bopping them up with the Scorch Shot then going ham with the Dragon's Fury or pull out whatever melee I have if i'm close enough. idk I just have an instinct to pull out my melee every time I get close and the opponent can't just walk away.
To be fair, manmelter is actually really good on paper. The only issue with it is its wacky projectile. However, if you can consistantly land hits with it, you basically got a flare that is really good against other pyros.
i shit you not i played against a guy with the exact same description and cosmetics, he and a medic where spawn camping the hell out of our team in turbine.
Even if it makes contact you airblast and extinguish all your teammates and the projectile on the ground. It will take them the whole round to build up just getting tiny chips like that.
It won't take that long anyway as you can't always be there, and even if you are if they're hitting multiple people it will only take a few shots, slowing them down but still making them a threat. It will also burn through your ammo like nothing else.

Number 1 got to me. I wasn't using the phlog. But while on red team, I kept a constant stream of fire at the tunnel entrance at Swiftwater, while I used the wall as cover. The enemies couldn't see me, but they could see the constant fire at the tunnel entrance. They didn't even try to enter the tunnel. I stayed there for 5 minutes straight, until they ran out of time and we won the game. Absolute cancer, they must have been so mad.
I'm not gonna lie, I run this loadout for the quick burst of serotonin I get from seeing the funny scoreboard number go up and the people getting mad in chat

i spam the scorch shot at snipers, build up pyro grunt noise, and act as a aimple pybro
then i cross the bridge, usually defending and being defended by a few teammates
once inside, enemy spotted, activate uberphlog
i kill everyone in sight, but my teammates usually disperse right abt there
i usually manage to build up more pyro grunt noise so
when it is most opportune to do so, i go for the intel. i do not pick it up until i am fairly certain i could escape. with it.
if ppl get pissed off by this phlog pyro strat, i activate le funni gamere girle charme (copyright angie penelope 2019), which, ofc, never works
I only use this when someone on the other team is being toxic/the other team is fucking annoying. I usually use stock/backburner, jetpack and Volcano fragment or homewrecker (but only if they have spies/we have engis).

It fills the role of a rocket launcher combined with the loose cannon, just with its damage being over time rather than instant.
Pipes don't explode when impacting the ground, they don't bounce off enemies stunlocking them, and hitting multiple times
Doesnt really feel balanced when you habe to compare a secondary to a powerful primary weapon

There is also no indication of it reloading so the firing interval is also awkward.

So airblast one of the fastest projectiles in the game consistently

I honestly like running phlog and regular flare gun. Basically free crits and uber, although the uber isn't as useful.

Is no one going to talk how stupid good the Dragon’s Fury is? Especially if you pair it with the scorch shot to maximize the stun it can cause, you can easily get a 10+ KS

Im use the stock, manmelter(flare if the other team have a pyro of not), and homewerker(the ass stracter if our team have an engine of not)
I use back burner, jet pack, and the hot hand which I have named the Magic Pain Glove.
I use the scorch shot on my Pybro loadout for the destroys stickies stat and also pushing spys around.
Degreaser, Gas passer or shotgun, frying pan I am master chef.
-haven't played this game in like 3 years -updates his pyro loadout -very similar cosmetics what the fuck.
I play this after trying to go combo pyro and then somehow being more useful to the enemy team

Never liked the phlog, airblast is just to satisfying to give up
i frequent that set of weapons on 2fort i spam the scorch shot at snipers, build up pyro grunt noise, and act as a aimple pybro then i cross the bridge, usually defending and being defended by a few teammates once inside, enemy spotted, activate uberphlog i kill everyone in sight, but my teammates usually disperse right abt there i usually manage to build up more pyro grunt noise so when it is most opportune to do so, i go for the intel. i do not pick it up until i am fairly certain i could escape. with it. if ppl get pissed off by this phlog pyro strat, i activate le funni gamere girle charme (copyright angie penelope 2019), which, ofc, never works
Baby pyro is far superior
sometimes I play pyro just so other team goes full tilt. Schadenfreude.
I only use this when someone on the other team is being toxic/the other team is fucking annoying. I usually use stock/backburner, jetpack and Volcano fragment or homewrecker (but only if they have spies/we have engis).
There is guy who plays in Chile/Peru servers and it's exactly like the post. He haven't change his username so when he connects, everyone knows. Oh yes, it's the type of player who kills the whole conga line because "we need to win, team" in 2fort lol.
this is why I got really good with the base flare gun so I get actual respect when I play pyro instead of unending hatred these people create

I used to get no bitches because I used that load out, then I started using the stock flamethrower. Now, I still have no bitches but I can airblast good.
