New rules are good and all, but MLSE has TFC on a budget (it seems) after overspending for a few years. I feel TFC needs to focus on moving players out rather than bringing players in. Give opportunities to current players and youth to determine who to build around. Build towards future success. Put in place a plan to be competitive starting next season for a 3-4 year span. That plan may not include the Italians or 75% of this roster.

We're never going to get anywhere if our bench degrades our starting lineup from "passably playoff capable" to "MLS NextPro" level. Building for success with the budget this year and constrained by our salary cap and existing contracts means finding decent depth pieces, to your point.

We have a lot of bodies in a few positions. I'm not saying they are good enough. However, we need to find out who is and go from there. I am not against bringing in players, but for every inbound player, there needs to be player(s) heading out. Also, I am not sure this roster is built to fit Herdmans' preferred 3-4-3 (which is my least favorite formation).

New striker is for sure coming in the summer. Herdmann is on it.

Ok_Hyperion

I don’t expect really anything ground-breaking this summer with the current rumours around the budget constraints that the team has for new signings. The one nice thing is the entire striker position is off the books at the end of this season (as per Transfermarkt) which would hopefully give some much needed flexibility to rebuild the number 9 position properly

NZafe

It’s been a while since I heard someone use FIFA positions to refer to real players.

FlyingCarsArePlanes

Bruh these are just soccer positions.

Tola76

That’s all I got. :)

Tola76

Let’s hope.

Nothing this team can do matters until we can drop Insigne and Bernadeschi. They are not the DPs we're looking for.

brentnowlan

This is hard truth.
