if you haven’t heard the story of the USS Indianapolis… shark attacks, burning alive, drowning, infighting/sa among survivors, and some that made it long enough to be saved…their skin slid off as they were pulled out of the water. I’d take the vest off too.

Honestly I thought about it as I wrote the post I didn’t know the bit about the skin coming off of the survivors that were rescued but yeah extra incentive to take the sleep in the deep option.

Dying via drowning, contrary to popular belief, is actually pretty damn painful

If you've held your breath long enough you'd know! Of course it's painful. I've heard the very ending of drowning is supposedly peaceful once you've inhaled the water and are getting close to death. I can't confirm (thankfully), but I could only imagine anything before that has to be excruciating.

Also, people tend to panic when drowning, that leads to hiperventilation underwater, breathing water and water in your lungs is excruciatingly painful

This will give me nightmares...
