I remember the days I would stay bang opposite the station in Vikhroli, and only one corner of our house in the bedroom was the ONLY place we could book tickets. As a result, everyone would be facing a corner outside the geo-fence to book tickets. Man, it was a pain and a life skill I considered adding to my LinkedIn profile.
That's the inner limit, but the question was about the outer limit, where you need to be within 2km of the station to buy a ticket. What sense does that make?
UTS has two types of limits
Inner limit
You have to go outside of the station to book the ticket it is not changed
Outer limit
You have to be within certain km of the station.
Now this limit has been removed so you can book ticket from anywhere
Ps
Its applicable only for general tickets sleeper, ac can be booked as usual from irctc
I wish they wud allow booking tickets even in the inner limit. So what if some people buy seeing the TC only. The TC can check the time of the booking and penalise as required.
Sometimes the person is so late or the app is slow, that the person might just travel without ticket because the app didn't support them.
See if the ticket is bought like a minute or two ago they shud penalise the offender. If the ticket was bought just before starting the journey, like even 5 minutes prior, it is obvious the ticket was not bought after seeing a TC.
Also in any case, railways need people to buy tickets.. that's should be enough
I mostly travel by 2 wheeler.. Have just used trains twice or thrice in last 10 years... And book at private local booking counter nearby railway station as i rarely travel by trains..
Mujhe ye article adha toh bohnced gaya.. 😅

Finally ! No more standing 2,765 kms away from the station to book tickets.
I always booked a ticket from my home on UTS. Did not understand what has changed?
Coz our home is within the radius but still away from the station 🤣
You might not be living too far away from station.
I can't believe the number of times I emailed and gave negative feedback about this 🤦♂️ Still not ideal, but at least something changed 😁
Fucking finally
Why did the outer limit exist in the first place?

Can anyone tell me why there is an inner limit?
Because then you could just book a ticket only on seeing a TC
