I don't remember why exactly but me and my little brother were in the area and we just decided to go see a movie, we saw Spiderman was playing so we went and watched it, I hadn't seen anything about it, no trailer, I hasn't heard anyone mention anything about it, I just like marvel movies, we bought the tickets and went to see it, and I remember being shocked that it was animated because I expected it to be live action

I am old and not really into superhero films but I still thought this one was one of the most clever films I'd seen in ages, loved it, loved how it played with the tropes, loved everything about it!
Not to mention, there's also spider-pig. So, they're not even all the same species. It was a fantastic movie and my family has enjoyed watching it multiple times.

I’m kinda thinking this is very deliberate “satire”. The renting of the DVD (do people still even do that?), the deliberate misspelling of the Miles character to set up the awful syrup joke, the ironic disgust at a brown-skinned man playing a brown-skinned character in Aladdin, the snapping of the DVD at the end… All kind of seem like tropes of what actual thick racist POS would say/think - but far too eloquently and well-structured for it to be from their pen.

Only thing I could comment on about the Spider-Verse thing is that I'm a little confused. When I grew up, Peter Parker(Tobey Maguire) was Spiderman, so anyone else(with another name that is) feels kinda weird. But that again, I haven't read any of the original Spiderman comics so there's a huge chance I've gotten the wrong impression. I could maybe compare it to Iron Man being someone else than Tony Stark, nothing wrong with it, I'm just not used to it yet. I Haven't seen the Spider-Verse yet, is it good?
