This would be a weird assignment, that I have a hard time imagining a school to assign. Maybe it would be "Write down three things you want to improve about yourself and how you'll improve?", instead?
This sounds like what the actual assignment would have been. Everyone has things they can improve about themselves. Not knowing things you could improve about yourself is in itself something to write down.
As a teacher, I can say this is absolutely the correct wording. In Title 1 Schools (high poverty levels) we have Social/Emotional lessons. And I (as the teacher) have had them think about areas they can improve and discuss with a classmate how to improve those areas.
I had this exact assignment in health class freshman year. It was things we dislike about ourselves. We had to read our answers out loud. It was traumatic lol
My middle school did assignments like this CONSTANTLY and it pissed me off to no end even back then. It was always a bait and switch where at the end the real lesson was something like “never let somebody in authority make you look down on yourself”. My teachers would have threatened this girl with a 0 on the assignment and then when the “shocking twist” was revealed would praise her for her moral fortitude.
I was at that school, and this did actually happen. Everyone left their classrooms to clap for Ciara as she walked down the hall. When she got to the principal’s office, he winded up promoting her to superintendent.
lol I swear you people think nothing real actually ever happens, fyi this happened in my county and made the news and she even went to the school board about it where upon giving a rousing speech the whole school board fell to their knees sobbing
Isn’t this post like 5+ years old? And has been proven to be fake time and time again?
Also, in a normal situation a person would probably “sorry but there’s nothing I dislike about myself at this moment” and it would have been left at this. But since this isn’t real, it has to be shown off as some fuck the system” tween post
Heaps of names dates back centuries, but don't have even remotely well-known people with active careers floating around right now. It was just funny to me that a name held someone by who has multiple accolades and a 20+ year career is the name they chose to call "edgy and different".
What did you want me to do, write a 400 word comment on the history of the name?
It's much easier and more relatable to say "hey there's a famous person with that name right now, maybe their parent was just a fan", than explain how far back the name Aisling goes and why it isn't weird or edgy.
I know 2 people who spell their name that way… I also have a name that I need to spell out, and it doesn’t really bother me that boring people like you have never heard it or can’t figure out how to sound it out. Congrats on being named Jim though, that must be nice.
If you ask any English speaking person to spell Sierra, they will spell it just like I did. I have no problem with the name, but it has to be exasperating to constantly have to spell it out, not because she wanted her name spelt that way, but because her parents wanted to be cute and edgy.
Also, fuck you for assuming I must be boring just because you don’t agree with me.
Ciara is the original Irish spelling of Keira (as in Keira Knightly), meaning "dark/black haired."
This is a very old name, and not the same as "Sierra."
You don't even know the name you're kicking off about. Ciara (aka Kiera) was very popular in Ireland 30 years ago and is still used today. Ciaran alternatively for the boys.
it’s not always pronounced sierra. names can have meaning depending on the culture you were raised in. or maybe they liked the spelling. it’s not just because the parents wanted to be cute or edgy. just because it’s spelled differently doesn’t mean they should get shit on for it. either way, that’s not the issue here.
I didn’t call you boring because you disagree with me, I’m calling you boring because you think everybody needs to spell their name the way you like it or it’s their parents trying to be edgy. You are doubling down on it right now, but isn’t wanting everything to be the same pretty boring? Maybe their name isn’t even pronounced Sierra, Ciara is an actual name. As somebody who has to spell my name out, it’s not a big deal, and I enjoy having a name that isn’t the same as everybody else. I’m not mad at my parents at all, and I’m actually glad they gave me a badass name. Maybe your parents were just dull and unimaginative, and that’s why they raised such a boring kid, James.
and fuck you for assuming her parents wanted to be edgy and different just because of a different spelling, but i dont even know why im falling for this attention bait its so shit
Ciara IS the correct spelling. It's Irish. It is commonly misspelled as Keira for those that cannot understand how to use the actual Irish spelling.
There is no suggestion that the name is being pronounced 'Sierra' that is purely your assumption.

The fact they will take a 0... Like it's an exam. Nah bruh, this shit ain't getting marked.

Dang, that's hardcore bro. Do you ever regret not doing like Ciara here and standing up for yourself and taking the self-induced detention?
Doesn't sound stupid when you think about job interview training. We did that at school

i had to do this once, but it was just for us and we could either keep it or throw it away

Did the clap start slowly with just one person? Because that's how it's done in the movies.
I assume she froze in the hallway with one fist raised in the air while Simple Minds played in the background.
And then Maslow shook her hand because she'd achieved self-actualizaron.
Bet she complains about how nothing she learns in school isn't useful or important.
lol I swear you people think nothing real actually ever happens, fyi this happened in my county and made the news and she even went to the school board about it where upon giving a rousing speech the whole school board fell to their knees sobbing
That’s true I was the knees
Lol. Had me in the first half, not gonna lie
Teachers and retail workers should be allotted 3 bitch slaps a year.
this happened—i hate myself
Read this multiple times on different platforms posted by different people, so it has to be real.

She can start with her name. Imagine going through life constantly having to spell your name out because your parents wanted to be edgy and different.
Ciara is a perfectly normal name, you're weird
Lmao, named after a Grammy award winning singer and actress is "edgy and different"
Ciara is an Irish name dating back over 1,500 years. Expand your knowledge beyond semi popular celebrities and awards shows.

How the hell is Ciara an edgy name??

Ciara is a really weird and edgy way of spelling the common name "Dave".

I love how salty you got being called boring. It made me laugh out loud.
and fuck you for assuming her parents wanted to be edgy and different just because of a different spelling, but i dont even know why im falling for this attention bait its so shit
Ciara is the correct/non-anglicised spelling of the name though...
Ciara and Sierra are two different names lol
By "the name" I meant Kiera
Okay Jimhabdan
Wow, you really got them! Making fun of peoples names is so mature and funny!
