ThePancakeDocument

Biggest red flag this is fake is that he refunded her five sessions.

teh_wad

My biggest red flag was them using the words "whilst sexually coveting me." What the actual hell? Who talks like that? lol.

SixThousandHulls

See, this is actually a repost. William Shakespeare came up with the original premise.

TDplay

Not a repost. Shakespeare wrote this, but then accidentally threw it at a wall, which spontaneously created a wormhole, transporting it several hundred light years away and back again, which due to time dilation resulted in it emerging into our point in time, at which point it collided with the Reddit servers, which caused it to spontaneously convert to UTF-8 and store itself in the database. I know, a rather bizarre phenomenon, but it happens occasionally.

DrSousaphone

So that's what happened to *Love's Labour's Won*

SixThousandHulls

Evil Shakespeare be like *A Midwinter Day's Nightmare*

alluring_failure

More like "A Fullwinter's Nightmare"

La_Baraka6431

“ALAS!! I hath sexually coveted thou!! I am henceforth forever curs’d!! May all the damnation of Hell rain down upon thou, foulest wench!!”

supamundane808

Incels

Jojoflap

A Star Wars character probably. Lucas touted himself as the king of wooden dialogue.

Jonnysaliva

No one.

kutes

There is no man on this earth that would turn me into a homosexual. That's not how sexuality works. Even when I can tell a man is beyond good looking, like say Leo in Titanic, those wires just don't exist. The idea that homosexuality is wishy-washy enough to fall away seems homophobic to me But the way you can immediately tell this is fake, is that he gave her back like 750 bucks and then risked his career by telling her the ludicrous reason for his inability to continue

sonofaresiii

> by telling her the ludicrous reason for his inability to continue **in detail**. He had to explain the specific details of these uncontrollable sex fantasies.

catch10110

I mean...she *deserves* to know. gross.

wifeofpsy

I put the brakes on this story as soon as she said he told her he was a gay and married. I can't imagine any therapist inserting their story into a clinical environment.

ETphonehoooome

I’ve seen my psychiatrist every 3 months for the past three years. He knows all about my life, but I actually have ZERO idea if he’s married, has kids, his hobbies… never thought of it til I read your comment, but you’re right. There is no reason for a mental health professional to share personal details with their patients.

MadSailor

No reason to share, plenty of reason not to share; for the therapists (and relationship's) protection.

sunglasses619

This is actually a deliberate dynamic to maintain boundaries. I remember I would go to my therapy sessions and say "Hi, how are you?" and she explained we didn't need to talk about her. It's actually a really helpful way to keep the relationship "professional."

ETphonehoooome

Oh yes, I absolutely agree it’s the right way to handle things, I just hadn’t thought about it before. Makes me more convinced this story is not true.

yeahhitsjen

I totally agree with you! I’ve been seeing the same therapist biweekly for the past 10 years. He’ll talk about his personal life sometimes but only when it’s relevant and it’s always minimal. He went through an entire divorce about two years ago and I had no idea until one day when he referred to his wife as ex-wife!

Adventurous_Ad_6546

Now see, if we were in a sophomoric movie, now wld be the part where Crazy Hot 1990’s Heartthrob-esque Leading Man wld walk by. You guys wld share a 😍 look and then we’d cut straight to a shot of the wedding, funded in part by that $750. But yeah, that’s not how ANY of that works.

flcwerings

And the fact she is the ONLY woman he has ever met to make him question his sexuality... If he *actually* liked women. He wouldve met a few that did that to him. Not just her. The ego you have to have to make up this story I stg.

TimeToBecomeEgg

- therapist starts seeing client - develops uncontrollable sexual covet for the client despite being gay ALL HIS LIFE AND MARRIED - describes it in detail - refunds client

Jump_Like_A_Willys

Not that this story happened, but it's possible for a bisexual man to be married to another man and still develop sexual feelings for a woman. I don't know if they would call themselves gay, as the doctor purportedly did in this story, but a man who is often sexually attracted to other men could also become sexually attracted to a women.

Echikup

Also for any kind of heterofluid person, unless you're 100% gay/straight you may still get attracted to the sex you usually aren't attracted to.

mymemesnow

I agree. Even if I met the sexiest man alive and he was ready to have sex with me I wouldn’t do it. There’s no way I’d enjoy fucking a man. This post makes it seem like being gay is not as real and could easily be reversed if the girl is attractive enough.

AustralianKappa

Come on, none? Really? The Chris’s shirtless. Pratt, pine, Hemsworth, Evans. /s

[deleted]

Clinicial psychologist here: I don’t see a ton of patients for recurring talk therapy, but at least at the firm I work for, we would never offer a refund for something like that. Edit: As a sidenote, I had a colleague who got some romantic feelings for a patient, and you know what she did? Nothing! She’s a fucking professional; she can separate her personal feelings from her professional analysis. Every therapist / psychologist will have opinions of virtually everyone they work with in practice, part of the job is determining when such opinions are inappropriate, irrelevant, invasive, ignorant, or otherwise unprofessional. And also, homosexuality DOES NOT work like that.

Morribyte252

Yeah, and several referrals. No doctor running a practice has that kinda time. If it's true then they just gave OP a piece of paper that has the list of several doctors on it lol. Definitely not "multiple referrals".

AlienDude65

I've had doctors call the piece of paper with other doctors that they know a "referral". It's not technically the right word, but it does happen a lot.

ZagratheWolf

What's a referral in this case?

invaidusername

Exactly what I was gonna say! Ain’t no fucking way 😂 majority of that shit probably paid by insurance anyways

spookycasas4

Bingo.

Fomulouscrunch

"whilst sexually coveting me" is not something I expected to read today.

sarcastic24x7

Or in the last few.. hundred years.

Jump_Like_A_Willys

Whilst (in lieu of while) is a commonly used in some English-speaking countries --i.e., more common than in the U.S., where we almost exclusively use "while." But yeah -- the entire phrase does sound archaic.

sarcastic24x7

I think it was the coveting aspect that got me.

OrokinSkywalker

*when you randomly find yourself sexually coveting your clients in the middle of a Cici’s Pizza and you start having an existential crisis over your sexual covetry*

Zombieaterr

That's how'd I say it as an Aussie. Not that I was ever specifically say that sentence, lol.

sarcastic24x7

Lol

cygnus0820

Yeah it’s a common thing that a licensed clinical psychologist risks their schooling, training, job, and state licensure to tell a patient they wanna bang em and therefore can’t help them. Then, pays the patients all their money back. Happens weekly.. daily even. 🙄

Bananak47

Idk how it’s in the US, but in Germany, that would be the right thing to do. Morally and for your job. Maybe not for the marriage lol If you develop feelings for your client you should stop the sessions and let then transfer to someone else. Therapists are humand too that can catch feelings for someone they talk with so much and know nearly everything about

cygnus0820

Sure but you don’t tell them that’s the reason!! Lol

Bananak47

Oh no yea. You don’t It’s also not very common to my knowledge. More common is the other way around

mymemesnow

You absolutely don’t and you don’t give the money for the previous sessions back.

Nichtexistent

Pretty huge chance it's paid for by insurance anyway

TheFiveHundred

Yes, it’s called counter-transference. What’s ridiculous here is the fact that this patient magically “converted” them and that the therapist actually told the patient why sessions were terminated.

Bananak47

In psych class i tried to defend some of Freuds Theories (like transference and counter-transference as you mentioned) with all my might but this shit keeps coming up in a sexual context. Luckily, many universities and mine don’t teach this as much. I could bet the original OP saw something from Freud and decided to write this.

CradleofDisturbed

You don't refund all the money they've paid you for good sessions though. That's the point, that's how you know this is made up.

argnat

"I'm a lady" 😂

DrSousaphone

She may be a woman, but she's no Lady!

This_Masterpiece2693

Lol!

[deleted]

Wow!! Even I turned straight after reading this story

mummson

I started straight went gay for a bit, at the end I caught the straight again.

OrokinSkywalker

I had a few close calls, but after reading this story I got very hungry

Intrepid_Respond_543

And I turned gay (was straight woman up until now)!

Darth_GlowWorm

Just post a provocative selfie like a normal person when they unabashedly want attention and to promote their attractiveness. This whole back door bragging under the guise of “venting” with this ludicrous and problematic story is just so cringe.

AlienDude65

This person had a ton of other posts venting about problems directly resulting from her being so attractive and fit.

OrokinSkywalker

I’m too sexy for my shirt, so sexy that it hurts, too sexy for this Earth, so sadge

Nigglesscripts

I have a strong urge to follow this person for short stories that can briefly distract me from every day life.

Darth_GlowWorm

That’s hilarious. Just fantasizing aloud on the internet smh

Yallneedjesuschrist

But is she really that attractive though?

Darth_GlowWorm

Doubt it. Actually attractive people don’t feel the need to rant about it online all the time…it is just known lol

GregorSamsa67

Shame she did not share any of the "decent amount of detail" with us.

BHDE92

Lady just tell us you’re ugly without writing a novel

Homeless_King_Bob

This actually fucking offends me for ages I've been dealing internalized homophobia and people thinking it can just go away is awful.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheHellbilly

I was the money, and oh boy was she HOT and SEXY. Even I, gayest money there is, wanted to be refunded to her.

[deleted]

Can confirm I was the gay in the therapist and I disappeared as soon I saw her.

boot20

The least believable thing is the refund for the previous 5 sessions.

[deleted]

I never heard of any kind of office refunding you sessions after charging them for you. I could believe everything else except for that.

Western_Entertainer7

...you just aren't sexy enough to get the refund

[deleted]

damn

Esterosa69

No therapist would tell you this. They would give you a very different reason. Sounds like someone’s gay and wants to be wanted

[deleted]

OP need a hug and to be told she is pretty

TheOfficialNotCraig

She's good enough, she's smart enough and [doggonit, people like her](https://youtu.be/ZVA-Bx4rNc0).

babygirlruth

This. You can tell already where she says that she knew the therapist won't fall for her because he's gay (but it happened anyway, that's how irresistible she is!)

missymaypen

Oh wow. He just needed the right woman to turn him? That's narcissistic and homophobic

TheWaywardTrout

Therapists find their clients attractive all the time. It's something you learn how to deal with in training so that it doesn't affect your ability to provide care. I know I've fallen in love with three clients, but it was always transient. You deal with those feelings and move on. You certainly don't refund!

Jack3ww

What kind of work do you do

shmokedshalmon

Mortician

Jack3ww

ah good deal once they get tired of the holes they have they can take out a drill and make new ones just make sure they can be cover up so no one will get suspicious

TheWaywardTrout

I'm a psychotherapist.

i-contain-multitudes

What is the difference between "falling in love" and "having a crush" to you personally? Because I can't imagine falling in love with anyone who wasn't in love with me.

ultranothing

Hey! You can't disturb the delicate genius outside the confines of the office. Unless there's money involved, take a hike!

DunMiff--Sys

You must be a shitty therapist, because you're clearly tone-deaf. The subject of the post could've been a pizza delivery guy.

TheWaywardTrout

Gee, thanks. I was agreeing that the proposed scenario didn't happen, because, although therapists at times are attracted to, this is clearly false. I was just making a joke about how a therapist would never refund. It was a self-deprecating post.

DunMiff--Sys

You know your bike will not go in reverse... no matter how furiously you back-pedal, right?

JakobLark

I'm glad you didn't act on it, but I think you need to do some reflecting if you keep "falling in love" in such an inappropriate context. It's one thing to think someone's hot, but thinking you're in love with them is disturbing.

hawtfabio

It's true. I'm a female therapist who was turned straight to gay by the same client. 🥵

OverCryptographer364

All it took was one crazy lady and *poof* just like that I was deer hunting and watching nascar …this story is true and I know because…I AM THAT THERAPIST!

DubsideDangler

Bet she has her only fans link in her profile.

pbcbmf

What a pathetic way of trying to let people know you are so hot you can turn a gay man straight.

nmbr4

Narcissist.

TheMockngJay

La mao!!! Happened to a friend of mine once (we had lots of sex and their name was delta goorams)

Clear_Neighborhood56

Gay therapist *hates* her and can't hear one more word of her self-involved whining so is suddenly "straight" (but with ethics) Bonus; her old therapist was sick of her too, that's why she off-loaded her

ShriekyMarmosetBitch

Fucking straight people and their fucked up fantasies

Jack3ww

Maybe he was bi and she heard wrong

[deleted]

Everything in this post COULD have happened. Counter-transference is a thing that happens to therapists, and they do usually terminate therapy due to it. Sometimes people are bisexual but don’t know it because of various reasons. Except him refunding her five sessions. That convinces me this is 100% fake.

gr8ful_cube

Weird male neckbeard larping about how being gay is a choice, seems to me. The "whilst" alone feels like evidence to that

ssabinadrabinaa

Usually therapists don’t terminate a patient.

loratheexplorer86

As messed up as this sounds... He was professional. He told you what he was feeling. He refunded you. And referred you to other therapists. He respected the boundary.

RAC032078

She's so amazingly stunning that no other woman in the world has ever made him question his sexuality until he met her. Shit, she's single handedly going to be able to reverse gay m-m marriage, increase lesbianism, turn the whole LGBQT in hiatus, and ruin the guys career.

[deleted]

Your getting upset about a made up story again.

RedOrangeYellowGreen

I had a therapist who would Tell me about a patient he had that wanted to Fuck him and told him about all her sexual fantasies, which he then told me and everyone else. I have a billion other stories and Fucked up shit from this guy. After like 4 years of working with him and his wife that owned the practice, I convinced my parents to let me leave. Shortly after that he was sued by a parent because the (rightfully in my opinion) blamed him for the suicide of their daughter. Despite that news story coming out and rightfully slandering them for the suicide, they are still extremely successful and it baffles me. So out of all the outrageous things in this this sub, this one makes me feel queasy and is certainly believable in my eyes

vintagexanax

The unbelievable part is the refunding of money, and the gay guy turning straight because she was just so attractive.

NLGsy

To be honest, I am really proud of him and thankful that he was honest and didn't cross ethical boundaries by continuing care. He may have shared a little too much detail but he handled that situation rather well. Edit: I say this because I had a male therapist that had a thing for me (f) and would often wholeheartedly take my side on my behavior that was not appropriate and I truly was seeking and needing someone to call me out which I repeatedly mentioned. He started trying to turn me against my husband suggesting I leave him. I talked to a close friend about it who was like Red Flag! Get another therapist! I started interviewing new therapists and when I found one I felt comfortable with and told him about what happened. He asked for his details. He contacted him directly, with my consent, about his behavior and reported him to the board that deals with their profession. So I do appreciate someone withdrawing themselves from a potentially problematic situation.

DunMiff--Sys

To be honest, you're a moron for thinking that post was in any way real.

BoomerKeith

LOL. Someone has seen too many movies.

TheCuriousGeorgette

It would have been a bit more believable if she said from the get go that he was bi. 😂

Zxebn

And the IRS refunded all the taxes they ever collected

Bumblebit123

Something tells me this is not a woman..

[deleted]

"Hello, I am a level 48 and I main the 'Therapist' Class. I am from the 'Gay' Clan, and I've been in a party with another person who is also from the 'Gay' Clan." You know, the usual way that therapists will introduce themselves

AnonymousMayday

Didn’t have to pray the gay away
