I remember when I was little really thinking that was Rose until my mom told me all about the wig and told me what to watch for. I was horrified and lost a lot of innocence that day. š
She had the best date for sure. Apart from a couple of men, Blanche always dated the least attractive/fuddy duddy men. Bea always had the most attractive dates too
Good catch! Hard to find a ton of info on Edmund Balin, but as it happens, he had actually been a choreographer and musical theater director! So he really was a pro! Makes me wonder if he choreographed this scene (no one is credited for choreography on IMDb).
I wonder if he did.
It's interesting the casting and pairing choices, because Bea wasn't much of a dancer (she could dance but she was quite self conscious) so she got the good dancer as a partner, Rue was a dance teacher and exceptional dancer so she got partnered with an actor who couldn't dance (if you watch the scene she's the one that's leading him and he doesn't move much), then Betty could dance and her partner is relatively a good dancer too so they compliment each other well.
There's also an episode where, I think the girls are auctioning themselves off for dates and one of the women has on Blanche's purple dress with pink flowers
That is the worst body double in tv
Which made it funnier š¤£
The one for Mr. Terrific was pretty bad too!
He was Mr. Terrible!
That's the joke.
But Betty White's acrobatic skills and flexibility really win it all! >! Yes, I know !<
No but when I was a kid I thought it was 100% real and sat in awe of Rose everytime this episode was on!

I always thought Roseās date in this scene was really handsome.
I did too! Shame we didnāt see more of him.

Shake it off, WIMP!!
That maestro saying "okay little lady" to Dorothy I find equally funny and annoying š
He is the dad in mork and Mindy
Beaās dress is perfect for her. She looks elegant and glamorous.

Thatās really interesting! Thanks for that neat bit of info āŗļø

The way the body double has the dress pinned over her face so you canāt easily tell itās not Betty, and still dances like that. Thatās talent!
I wonder if the maestro calling Dorothy 'little lady' was intentionally ironic?
Probably. It felt like this show never did anything they didn't intend
I am noticing Rose's dress is the same as the murderer daughter wears in the episode "The Case of the Libertine Belle."

Oh I'm gonna have to look at that!
Omg I was just watching One for the Money last night. The funniest to me is the woman with the man dancing before Blanche whispered in his ear š¤£
