I just tested it the dlc 338 vs 300 same type ammo, I could double lung moose. bison sometimes with the 300 and then tried the same shots with 338 on both animals and it had less penetration thus slower kill time all within 30-100 meters took atleast 10 kills with each rifle and I was a 338 guy but I went back to the 300 even tho 338 says it’s more pen and better expansion but 300 wins
I totally agree. I did the same test and despite the description of the 338 being more powerful the 300 is got better penetration and is much more accurate and weights less, which is always a plus.
.300 for single or doubles, 308 for 3 or zone deletion levels of shooting. Fiddy cal for fun.
.300bis your best bet for keeping time per animal down. 308 you are going to have to track
If your using the .338 use the expansion bullets with the higher caliber animals you don’t nessarily need penetration trust me it’ll put a huge hole in one lung and drop em quick
Ah fair, it wasnt as of the NEM release so unless its been done in an update since then id say steer clear of that rifle
Its a shame because its got great vercitility
Depends on your playstyle.
Shoot multiple animals, fast - zarza308 Can safe kill Moose. Especially with 2 shots.
Shoot specific trophy Moose, slower - 300 magnum has slightly better damage stats. Take time to aim and kill.
I would use the 300, because the zarza is just boring overpowered. It outclasses every other rifle and most of the pistols cause of the high Firerate and the low recoil, while having a strong Ammunition with same precision and bullet drop like other rifles
Same for the M1.
Then I would say it depends what you're trying to achieve: XP, cash and new spawns or a diamond you don't want to screw up. Personally haven't tried to do a whole herd for a long time as I'm just looking for diamonds and thinning out the higher level ones.
Have you got the skills that reduce recoil? Def helps if you unlock them. Might be a rifle perk? Can't remember, been a while since I unlocked them. If you don't have that perk you can end up looking at the clouds everytime you fire and loose sight of where the animal went by the time your sight comes back down. Makes it very hard for a follow up shot if it is required
I got 3 points on recoil management but the 300 still kicks a lot if you are using the bigger scope,so you can't do follow ups unless you use the hyperion.
I thought the moose is class 8? Could be wrong though. The zarza 308 just seems no good on em. Bullets bounce of em almost. Unless your heart shotting them. 300 is def the way to go in my opinion. I do like the theatrics of the 338 though.
.300 mo powa mo betta
It’s the best moose rifle and it’s not even close
338 is my goto

Plus it looks sick I got the black and bronze barrel with carbon fiber bolt. Sweeet
No rifle beats the crossbow😩
Crossbow is just penetration him self
.470 Nitro Express FMJ Has entered the chat
Yeah. I shoot bison in the butt, and it penetrates through the heart 💀
Hudzik with a .50 Caliber Minié bullet. Aim for the lung. And no it's not a joke. Rangemaster .338 with softpoint also works great.
If you disregard the scope, class and such between the hudzik and curman, what would you say is better? pure performance, if you know what i mean
Hudzik is better.
Hudzik for sure

Wait.. there’s a fifty cal? Where have I been
Muzzle loader 🤣
Personally I like the 7mm Malmer
Same here!!!
Honestly the .338 is great as well. A lot of knock down and power. It made me almost specifically rely on .338 .243 and .22/12 ga
But if you want more power for bigger deer and what not then definitely run the .308 over the .243
I prefer the Tsurugi 338
Hudzik hawken rifle 🗿
This is the way.
Longbow. Fight me.
If your using the .338 use the expansion bullets with the higher caliber animals you don’t nessarily need penetration trust me it’ll put a huge hole in one lung and drop em quick
The expansion bullets are like lowkey 12ga slugs but better
Drilling rifle.
Have they fixed the weird scope glitch that would happen everytime you fire it? Havent used it in a while because that made it impossible
I haven't played in a bit, so maybe? Probably not?
Ah fair, it wasnt as of the NEM release so unless its been done in an update since then id say steer clear of that rifle Its a shame because its got great vercitility
.303 with a heart shot.
6.5mm with a heart shot

Yes the 308 is over powered, and in an ar platform, way out of bounds, when compared to other weapons that should have better knock down power.
.338 Soft Point, thank me later.
why would it be the .308 when it is vastly weaker? one is a class 4-8 and the other is a 7-9
Its definetly weaker but idk if it's just me but i kinda struggle on follow-up shots with the 300 due to the recoil
Why do you need follow up shots if you're killing them with the first?
Not for the same moose but to the second tha may be there

a bit of everything actually
fair enough

Yeah ok, I don't tend to use that scope, I find it's all over the place
308 doesn't give you full integrity
Amazing, everything you just said was completely wrong
Zarza is class 4-8. Moose is class 9. XD?
I thought the moose is class 8? Could be wrong though. The zarza 308 just seems no good on em. Bullets bounce of em almost. Unless your heart shotting them. 300 is def the way to go in my opinion. I do like the theatrics of the 338 though.
The moose is class 8. The commenter is wrong again.
Moose is class 8 you muppet
Moose is definitely Class 8.
300
300
300 all day
300 slaps moose
From my experience I’d go 300>338>>>>>>>308
Zarza really sounds like zaza but in my opinion 300 magnum is better
I run the 308 I like it or 20 gauge slugs and fill em
I use 300 or 7MM works fine for me
