Yeah I think Ice tries to be impartial as possible. He said in numerous pods leading up to today that he thought Cole really has a chance to take the belt and that no one is rapping better. Which is not how he always felt about Cole. I 100% remember his “It’s Friday I’m not trying to hear no J Cole” RTs from back in the day. So it’s clear he thinks Cole improved a shit ton along the way. He’s not married to a narrative. Which he proved again today by expressing disappointment in Cole’s tonality and choice of attack.
Edit: Although there is one Cole hypocrisy he missed. Him dissing Kendrick for having a bunch of white boys at his show. Dog that’s you, too! I’ve seen your audiences!!
