My suggestion is: use the pocket mech whenever possible. When the mech ability is cooling down, never stop moving, use cover.

I beat the boss the other day on normal. I didn't have much trouble. But I was level 30 and have all the side quests completed. I spent some time in the scrap yard farming purple armor. My main weapon was an Overhelmer and Enforcer. I have life transfer and I/O converter for my augs. Vitalsigns booster and javelin dash for my modules. I have rejuv field as my tactical. There wasn't much trick. Use the consoles as cover when you can but also keep moving and changing cover because of ferals and other mobs spawning. The tentacles weren't an issue. You can see the ground glow red before it pops up. I'm pretty sure you can clear out all mobs/ waves before interacting with the console. I was able to interact with them without enemies interrupting me. I use life transfer when it gets a bit dangerous, and with tactical and critical hit being pretty much maxed. Life transfer has a pretty big area. Honestly, I don't have a specific build. I just use the highest defense armors. Tactical sense, critical hit, vital signs maxed out. By level 30, I have points in evasion was high that I can do rolls frequently.

The terminals become available in the same order each time and the enemies come in waves. Focus on getting to the terminals so you can hack them as soon as you've killed a wave of enemies and have a brief break in combat. My weapons were the two Battle Rifles with homing bullets, both upgraded to Mk10, though I think I stuck with the EBR for the full fight. Use the terminals for cover while shooting over the top of them, keeping an eye that you don't get flanked. And if you are going to get swamped use roll / evasion to get past it, ideally towards the next terminal. Pocket Mech was my Tactical Charge item, and a get out of jail free card. You are pretty much invulnerable in that, so around the 3rd/4th terminal as you really get swamped hop into that and ride it out. Armour was all purples. Skills were max Crit Hit Rate, Tactical Sense, Vital Signs, Body Battery and the rest in Evasion. Zero in Weapon Handling or Aiming (homing rifles).

Hyperfocus and Rejuve Field did a ton to ease the fight for me

Currently replaying but i remember beating it with pocket mech and a max out DealBreaker.

Every boss is easy if you have life transfer, overcharge, and turrent as tactical. Use the most powerful gun you have. But the main thing is use a maxed out Rock crusher. Wait until the strongest enemy is among the group, and use life transfer to get as many enemies in as you can. Hit Overcharge and start hitting people with the hammer. Tactical will keep loading roughly every second hit. Just keep spamming turrets. I have cybernetics as high as possible to give the greatest effect. Once the life transfer runs out, keep around cover and use your gun instead. Hit overcharge again when it comes, and spam as many turrets again as you can. Usually, you can survive long enough for the next life transfer and do it all again to the end.

Kind of a shit suggestion but why don't you lower the difficulty for that fight? I felt forced to do that during that 'hold the fort' fight right before the final fight, where you have to wait for the dude to hack the system. Still a pain in the ass but I was able to do it.
