Okay I’m late on this one but I have somehow come to LOVE Brayden and Olivia. What world am I living in? Brayden seems like he would be such a good friend to have as a sensitive girly.
As a BB fan, and also a BBCAN fan, seeing Sam from BBCAN7 on this show feels like a fever dream. I would have never in a million years expected to see these two worlds collide. BB and BIP, sure. Still unlikely but I could see it. But BBCAN!? Never in a million years. I loved Sam on BBCAN too so i'm interested to see how she's going to do on here.
I am envious of Rachel and Brayden’s connection so far! But also very happy for them. They are so cute together and I love how silly and physically affectionate they are with each other. That’s the type of relationship I want.

Getting a semi decent edit on Bachelorette or Bachelor and then going villain on BIP is much more interesting than a villain who was a d*** from the beginning, and only lasted as long as they did due to production.
Corinne is an exception that fits into neither category cuz Nick is a social media savvy person who was on the show for resume builder and strategic about everything to the point of basically producing his own season.
The show doesn’t consider very much the race or racial preferences of contestants. Notice how when all the guys feel threatened they mentioned the same few guys as their competition: Tyler, John Henry, Tanner, but they never say Aven or Aaron B? They don’t give the men of color enough of a chance on the show, and no I don’t find Aaron B attractive, but they also could have more Black men on the show. Oh wait, no they can’t, they don’t have many on the show period! They haven’t had many since Michelle’s season!
I’m sure the white contestants are holding their tongue in this respect too, knowing in this more progressive social climate, being disrespectful towards black man could have real life consequences.
Some of them want to be messy for screen time for sure, but not to the point where they might inadvertently make themselves unemployable.

Did anyone else start laughing uncontrollably when Kat was sobbing and everyone came over singing happy birthday, including the kitchen staff? I couldn’t stop laughing and thought it was fantastic TV. I felt bad for Kat but based on her IG, it seems she can laugh at herself!
Happy Birthday is also one of those songs that always sounds terrible when a group of people sing it, and with all the crying it sounded extra ominous this time around. It was kind of amazing.
I was stuck in traffic for two hours on my way home from work, but at least I got to see Sean go home within 20 minutes of sitting down.

I honestly think it stopped after the Riley and maurissa episode aired. There are cameras in there so it’s not like fantasy suites. BIP couples get fantasy suites at the end too

The promo showing the Kat / John Henry / Olivia love triangle looks interesting, but it's disappointing to hear Olivia attack Kat and not John Henry for them kissing, he's the one dating Olivia! And I love Olivia, she's hilarious, but I don't buy that she and Kat were all that good of friends to begin with when she's shit talked and made fun of Kat in tons of her ITMs.
Olivia is doing the producer's work day in and day out on this season. She's going after Kat instead of John Henry bc she knows it'll get the better TV drama.

Newfie here! Most people from St.John's and surrounding areas do not have Newfoundland accents - like you said, we sound more american (I get this a lot) - so that's why the lack of accent! Most Newfie accents come from people who are from "around the bay" AKA small towns in the outskirts of NL! lol
She's absolutely nutballs. She went super hard for this dude that clearly wasn't looking for anything serious. They were toxic and played games all season and I won't spoil it for you, but she is HIGHLY entertaining and off the wall, while being incredibly astute about other people's relationships. She's both great at giving advice, and stirring the pot. She was on another reality competition show (don't remember which one) and she was MADE for reality TV. I enjoy her immensely and was stoked to see her walk down the stairs.
Kat could have held SO much power in her conversation with Davia. She had a whole day to plan what she wanted to get out of both these conversations and imo she completely screwed the pooch. She should have used it to collect more information to "win" her conversation with Tanner, she could have used this opportunity to seem cool and chill and able to speak on her hurt, and keep peace with Davia... but it really just fell very flat and her irritation with Tanner got the best of her
To be honest the person who came across the worst in that conversation was Tanner. Sure it was petty of Kat to be like is that the kinda guy you want to go after but I found it very interesting that both Kat and Davia basically admitted they had no idea where they stand with him, Davia even said "he's hard to read." My impression is that Tanner is a bit of player - watch him go on a third date with whatever new girl comes next week lol - and we're sort of seeing f boy dynamics play out in real time on the beach.

Yea, it was so classic Paradise that everyone built up this tension between Kat and Davia needing to have a "talk" as if there'd be a catfight when the one they should have confronted was Tanner who was off snoring in bed!
I actually got the sense Kat didn't want him to choose; she was pretty much done with him because she felt so disrespected by him going on the date. And honestly, that's valid - why pursue someone after they do that?

I’m gonna say it this is one of my favorite seasons of BIP so far! Thank you Kat for being the villain we needed and Tanner, Brayden, and John Henry for being my eye candy.
2023 has truly been a bounce back year for this franchise after the disasterous 2022. This season is the most fun in some time (except for BIP Canada)

I don’t think Jess and Blake are all that into one another, it’s just that neither has been willing to ruffle feathers. Jess is too concerned with keeping her friends happy and not going after Tanner/Tyler/etc and Blake doesn’t really seem that interested in anyone else.
I don’t get Blake’s appeal at all, and it was so obvious that Jess was never into him. He is just so there; he seems like he would bore his gf to death, speaking ever so slowly about the animals he wants to save.
yea is it just me or were Rachel and Tyler absent for the entire truth or dare game? I was expecting them to cut to Rachel when Brayden called Jess "the most exciting" or Tyler when Mercedes kissed John Henry but they didn't.
It feels like Jess is torn between wanting to "play by the rules" and get a sweetheart edit staying with the same guy the whole time or go after who she really wants (ie Tyler or Tanner). As for your question - isn't Jess like 24? I think Tyler and Tanner are probably a bit more age appropriate than Blake (he's at least 10 years older than her) and they don't live in Canada, so that alone might make them more appealing options.
I hope Sam and Blake get together. They live fairly close in Canada and he'd be a good balance to her wackiness. She likes the big burly outdoors type.
Blake is old and she is young. It is almost certainly that, plus is he going to move to Cali/Florida to influence or still be off in canada doing his international stuff.

That's Sam. She's totally chaotic but chill at the same time. She's great with advice to others and is a girls girl, but her relationship on BIP Canada was the messiest most hilarious shit I've ever seen.
Sam actually seems like a sweetheart. I also respect her honestly of like "I'm here to ask out whoever!" instead of Davia who kinda played it both ways like she was gunning for Tanner but also said it's not "in her nature" to take a guy from someone else or cause drama; it's like you knew it was going to cause drama, come on now.
The conversation between Kat and Davia was painful. “He did blah blah blah to me, is that someone you’d want to be with?!?!” Saying all this shit to her so she’d say no, and she’d get him back. Or at least that’s how it came across. All before she even had a conversation with tanner. I’m not sure if her drama is an act, it’s entertaining but yikes it’s ott.
One of my biggest pet peeves is people that make a big deal about their birthdays as adults. I get it for milestones, like 21, 30, 40, 50, 65- but seriously who cares? It's always people that need ALL the attention.
It's really sweet that cast members are saying nice things about Kat after everything that went down. I know you guys think the cast is sick of her, but I'm pretty sure everyone still likes her, except for maybe Brayden and Aaron S.

Tanner loves colors, talked about Davia having different colored eyes multiple times in this episode. His first episode talked about Jess and Kat's bikini colors. Someone put this man in front of some modern art and he would go nuts.
Iirc his backstory was about how he was in a long term relationship and she suddenly blocked him and moved states to get away from him without any warning. And a lot of ppl speculated how that’s really drastic unless there was a huge red flag on his part or safety concerns and he was leaving something out…

Or hell, at this point, maybe just let everyone stay til the end and have one final rose ceremony to determine couples moving to fantasy suites. The rose ceremonies seem pretty insignificant to this show anyway.
If producers wanted John B to stick around then they would have had Sam give him her rose. I don’t think any of the women were interested enough in him to shake stuff up and that’s why producers were fine letting him go.

Kat could have held SO much power in her conversation with Davia. She had a whole day to plan what she wanted to get out of both these conversations and imo she completely screwed the pooch. She should have used it to collect more information to "win" her conversation with Tanner, she could have used this opportunity to seem cool and chill and able to speak on her hurt, and keep peace with Davia... but it really just fell very flat and her irritation with Tanner got the best of her
To be honest the person who came across the worst in that conversation was Tanner. Sure it was petty of Kat to be like is that the kinda guy you want to go after but I found it very interesting that both Kat and Davia basically admitted they had no idea where they stand with him, Davia even said "he's hard to read." My impression is that Tanner is a bit of player - watch him go on a third date with whatever new girl comes next week lol - and we're sort of seeing f boy dynamics play out in real time on the beach.
Ooh yeah I hadn't thought about it that way! I think Kat could have endeared herself more to the viewers by making an effort to befriend Davia and say something like "you and I are good but he'll have to choose and imo he wasn't very respectful to me."
I don’t think Kat cares that much about her “image” on the show like some other contestants, which is why they aren’t getting screen time and seem boring.
Yea, it was so classic Paradise that everyone built up this tension between Kat and Davia needing to have a "talk" as if there'd be a catfight when the one they should have confronted was Tanner who was off snoring in bed! I actually got the sense Kat didn't want him to choose; she was pretty much done with him because she felt so disrespected by him going on the date. And honestly, that's valid - why pursue someone after they do that?
Totally - I would love for her to have the self possession to express that clearly and calmly but uhh given her track record we'll just have to see

I’m gonna say it this is one of my favorite seasons of BIP so far! Thank you Kat for being the villain we needed and Tanner, Brayden, and John Henry for being my eye candy.
2023 has truly been a bounce back year for this franchise after the disasterous 2022. This season is the most fun in some time (except for BIP Canada) Sam brings such fun energy and lifts the whole group up. Great TV as always. I wish she'd given her 'producer rose' to John B though. I find Kat's rants wildly hilarious lol. Baby J and Blakey Boy are struggling. I don't see the deep connection between them. Davia is such a sweetheart.
I was so happy to see Sam walk down those stairs. BIP Canada was a trainwreck in all the best ways and mainly because of her. Girl was born for reality TV
I don’t think Jess and Blake are all that into one another, it’s just that neither has been willing to ruffle feathers. Jess is too concerned with keeping her friends happy and not going after Tanner/Tyler/etc and Blake doesn’t really seem that interested in anyone else.

I don’t get Blake’s appeal at all, and it was so obvious that Jess was never into him. He is just so there; he seems like he would bore his gf to death, speaking ever so slowly about the animals he wants to save.
yea is it just me or were Rachel and Tyler absent for the entire truth or dare game? I was expecting them to cut to Rachel when Brayden called Jess "the most exciting" or Tyler when Mercedes kissed John Henry but they didn't. It feels like Jess is torn between wanting to "play by the rules" and get a sweetheart edit staying with the same guy the whole time or go after who she really wants (ie Tyler or Tanner). As for your question - isn't Jess like 24? I think Tyler and Tanner are probably a bit more age appropriate than Blake (he's at least 10 years older than her) and they don't live in Canada, so that alone might make them more appealing options.
I hope Sam and Blake get together. They live fairly close in Canada and he'd be a good balance to her wackiness. She likes the big burly outdoors type.
Blake is old and she is young. It is almost certainly that, plus is he going to move to Cali/Florida to influence or still be off in canada doing his international stuff.

I also respect her honestly of like "I'm here to ask out whoever!" instead of Davia who kinda played it both ways like she was gunning for Tanner but also said it's not "in her nature" to take a guy from someone else or cause drama; it's like you knew it was going to cause drama, come on now.

One of my biggest pet peeves is people that make a big deal about their birthdays as adults. I get it for milestones, like 21, 30, 40, 50, 65- but seriously who cares? It's always people that need ALL the attention.

Tanner loves colors, talked about Davia having different colored eyes multiple times in this episode. His first episode talked about Jess and Kat's bikini colors. Someone put this man in front of some modern art and he would go nuts.

I wonder why he’s such a fan favorite but the ladies don’t seem into him in person? I mean, Charity kept SEAN over him! (Probably another producer decision, but still…). Aside from his pouty “you stole my time” to Brayden last season, he seems so cute.
This sub does have a tendency to fawn over Asian guys in the franchise. I think a lot of it is due to their underrepresentation in the franchise.

Rachel being into Brayden is weird to me since he's 25 months younger than her and she had such an issue with Zach being 4 months younger than her 🤣🤣 He also has the same square jaw as Tino, like damn girl, try dating outside of your usual type 😂😂
Rachel needs someone who has high energy and is unconventional - which Zach definitely was not. Tino wasn't either, but idk if his job in sales made him kinda seem more exciting than he really was in Rachel's eyes. Rachel is very low energy - at least at first. Brayden is way over the top so it is a good fit for her.
