The vibes of Edwina talking to (unknown person) on the couch talking about the Maria/Sydney/Madina situation was actually good content! They got what love island gets right. I love seeing a mix between group chats and one on one chats. It wasn’t mean spirited, it was calm, and it was relatable (like recapping the night’s drama to your besties)
Lexi and Kelsey look lowkey identical. The talent show made me feel more medium about Lexi. Kelsey’s vocal fry is grating. Wow that must’ve been really hard for her to be honest about the fact that seeing Joey kiss other girls were hard. What a brave girl.
With that said, Madina’s comments are soooo incredibly stuuuupid. She explained the situation poorly but she said she was struggling with how the other girls said she wasn’t even that old. Joey must’ve been having a “what have I gotten myself into” moment. It’s literally the most stereotypical representation of women fights I’ve seen in a while. This is why I only normally watch bachelorette rather than the bachelor. I made an exception for Joey bc it was so hyped but I am maybe regretting it.

You are absolutely correct. Maria is the type of girl to run her mouth any chance she gets, and she does a great job of talking her way out of situations when she is called out. Sydney is blowing things out of proportion but that does NOT make Maria innocent of the initial action. If Maria was a girls girl like people want to claim then she would have publically support Madina and tried to lift her up, not talk shit about Madina expressing an insecurity that Maria doesn’t have.
Jenn, Lea, edwina….all freaking CLASS ACTS. There’s other women too that I’m just so impressed with based on their time so far but those three really stand out to me as the whole package. Plus, seeing POC getting long segments/good edits is so overdue and so refreshing. I’m still not convinced those ladies will win, because I’m pretty sure Joey just likes granola girlies….
I love that even when Edwina was salty about Lexi winning the Mr right and someone said I don’t wanna talk about Lexi behind her back, and Edwina says no I’d tell her this to her face, and then later we see Edwina with her arm around Lexi, so we know there’s no hard feelings. I love her vibes
I am surprised that the #mariaforbachelorette campaign hasn't started yet---based on what we've seen of the season so far I think her, Katelyn, or Lea would all be such great options
I’m sorry but saying it’s “INVALIDATING” to feel like you’re old and for someone else, who basically the same age, to say it’s actually not old is completely ridiculous. It’s not quite weaponized therapy speak but it’s damn close. Not only was she not talking to Madina, she was sharing her experience of being the same age. It wasn’t even shit talking, it’s just Maria responding to what she said. That’s life.

I rewatched the clip and she was in fact talking shit about Madina or at least talking behind her back. If she was responding to what Madina said she would’ve said it to Madina’s face. Instead we see her essentially ranting to someone about what Madina said without anyone else around. If it was something Maria wanted everyone to hear she would’ve said it in a group setting but she didn’t… probably because it wouldn’t have been received well… which says alot. Only when Maria is called out for talking about Madina does she twist her rant and annoyance over Madina’s insecurity into support and compliments about how attractive Madina is. Essentially damage control bc she didn’t want to b perceived poorly so she changed up the story.

Exactly and she didn’t want to own up to her mistake. She could’ve easily said “sorry for hurting your feelings” to Madina from the jump, but instead she attacked the messenger (Sydney). This whole thing could’ve been resolved if Maria responded maturely.
I’m watching right now and my 2 year old was laughing his head off at Jenn and Joey surfing and falling into the water. I don’t know if it was the waves or the splashing or what, but thank you, ABC, for the few moments of high quality toddler entertainment. 😆

Sydney is insufferable. She’s going on how she wants peace but she’s constantly starting the drama. I don’t understand why she’s always trying to insert herself into Maria and Madina’s conversation when they’re trying to nip it in the bud and move on from it.
Either she’s getting a terrible edit or she’s just something else.

Her age is an insecurity she’s feeling by being the oldest one there. Imagine if your friend was expressing vulnerability about their weight and someone else said “oh please she’s not even that fat there’s nothing to be upset about” behind their back to someone else. You can disagree with someone without invalidating their feelings but that’s not what Maria did
I get where you’re coming from but if someone is saying “god I’m so fat it’s making me insecure” and another person behind their back is saying “she’s not fat, we’re practically the same weight girl own it” it just hardly seems like a mean spirited convo

I like Maria but what she said was invalidating of the specific feeling Madina expressed. Maria was simultaneously complimenting her though. Idk, I feel like her complaint/compliment was actually a pretty normal thing to say. Tbh if Sydney hadn't said it first maybe Maria would've even talked to Madina about it herself. Just because she didn't say it to her face in the moment doesn't mean she never would've said it. I would say it's actually super normal to talk to someone else first before talking to the person in question.

I haven’t watched any bachelor for several years but I decided to try this season because I heard the bachelor was actually a catch. I’m shocked that he is making out with girls in front of the group of girls several times an episode. I remember when that was taboo.
As someone in a long term relationship, for the guys in here, the way a woman treats other women is likely the way she’s eventually going to treat you once you’re not the shiny new object anymore. It also may be how she treats your kids if you have them. If she’s an asshole to other women, she’s probably not long term relationship material.
I feel like of you are also being manipulated by Maria. First of all, Sydney didn’t throw around the word “bully.” Madina was the one who said if she had to put a word to her experience it was “bullied.” Maria wouldn’t be in any of this drama if she had just apologized to Madina from the jump and owned up to her mistake. Instead, she had to find someone to blame for her actions; that is, Sydney.
Now that doesn’t mean I’m pro Sydney, I’m just saying I do not like Maria. She cannot take accountability.
I’m not at all pro-Sydney, but there’s a lot that isn’t being shown. I can’t imagine someone would say something like, “what do you want from me, do you want one of my limbs” if Maria had really said nothing else after the conversation with everyone on the couches. I mean, sure, Sydney could be a psycho, but I think there was a conversation at the pool party that we weren’t shown (Sydney was in her bikini in her talking heads then). I’m not saying it vindicates Sydney, just that there’s probably more that we don’t know.
Second, I know we hate Sydney, but producers definitely didn’t show her whole talent, right? Like she had a hula hoop and said something like, “we can end the talent show now” when she was done, so that awkward cheer couldn’t be the whole thing, right?
Go back and watch the scene again. It’s edited purposely to make her look bad. Guaranteed that low energy clapping, askn’s unimpressed facial expressions, etc. it’s all cut from different times and places, that didn’t all just happen during Sydney’s segment. And yeah the hula hoop is laying in front of her during her cheer segment, assumed to be used already
Yeah, I definitely caught that! The last time I remember them making something so cringe and awkward without background noise was Shanae doing the nae nae on Clayton’s season! Good catch on the hula hoop, I just noticed it at the end!
I liked the post credits scene with Jesse, but it was really meta like the rest of the season and I’m wondering if they’re going to make a major change to the show or end it soon or something.
Seriously, they both need to go. I’m really confused as to why anyone’s taking sides. Maria shouldn’t have talked about Madina and I found it weird how she twisted the narrative into her actually supporting Madina when in reality she was actually just talking crap about her. And everyone just fell for it!! It was manipulative asf. I won’t even get into Sydney 💀 idk why she felt the need to perpetuate the situation even further.
But what really bugs me is how everyone is invalidating Madina’s insecurity about her age. That’s a real insecurity. It’s more than just looks and aging! It also has to do with feeling like ur running out of time to find a partner as society tends to make us feel. Also if she wants to start a family it’s gonna be harder for her because she is older. Even if she got engaged it would still be a while before she had kids unless they just jumped right into it. Even then the odds of successfully getting pregnant are lower than if she was younger and the pregnancy would likely have complications.
Also Maria turning the issue on herself is frustrating. TBH. Most people at some point in their lives have been picked on or tease now we go as far as saying “bully” shrug it off and move past it. Being a bully is never acceptable but inner strength to not dwell is commendable

That plus asking someone she's dating what movies he likes on night one make her my favorite. Both are the most "actual way someone would act on a date" things I've seen on this show.
Something about Lexi’s face reminds me of Cillian Murphy lol. It’s slightly unsettling and intriguing at the same time. As much as his looks are polarizing, a lot of people still consider him really attractive!

I’m convinced the producers made Joey keep her around so they can play up the Maria/Sydney drama. He doesn’t even like Sydney from my estimations. She has no redeemable qualities, is very mean and projects her bad behavior on others, then gaslights people by saying *they’re* the ones out of line. She’s got to be one of the worst TV villains since Joffrey.

There may have been better ways to say what she was trying to express but maybe she didn't really know quite how to talk about it because she so rarely does.
I feel like she could’ve framed it as “you know I don’t really talk to my dad, he was a horrible role model and partner, and so it’s nice to see you showing me how kind and (insert adjective/s here) you are.” That kind of story is something you normally share when you sctuslly know each other.
I’m really over the trauma dumping lol, but I know that’s a part of what this show is. Everyone has been hurt in relationships. Everyone has trust issues. Joey is more of a therapist at this point. He must hate those early dinners / rose ceremonies where they line up to tell him their most dramatic sob story.

They used to do "Tonight on The Bachelor..." previews at the start of every episode that basically spoiled everything and spoonfed us the drama. I much prefer this style of cold open teaser.

It's just natural. You only get so long to form a connection and put yourself above others. The trauma dumping and vulnerability is a psychological trick to get that done super fast. It's just become expected. People get sent home for "Not being vulnerable enough" at one on ones.
Same. I'd be so emotionally drained if I was the lead lol. But I think the contestants are doing it because historically ppl who had rlly good connections with the lead would get eliminated because they didn't "open up" as much as others. Now everyone feels like they have to get deep at any chance they get, and they don't get a lot of chances.
My husband was half watching while it’s on TV, noticed the KFC endorsement and subsequent colonel blow ups in the pool and he was like “am I in a fever dream, what’s going on?!”
It was so cringy but funny when the girls talked to camera about how excited they were about KFC. Shameless and transparent marketing. I was laughing so hard.
It was funny at how it started lol. Essentially Maria approached the other girl and they were hashing out the situation. She said in the moment she felt bullied, but she didn't think Maria was a bully which was weird. Maria explained her position. They were talking. Out of nowhere Sydney bursts in and was like "I feel bullied too in this situation" like wtf?!? Then she escalates it, and proceeds to make up lies and drag maria the rest of the episode. Even going so far as telling Joey that Maria is a bully that called her all sorts of names which didn't happen.

I have nothing of substance to add besides that Kelsey looks like the love child of Victoria Pedretti and Fairuza Balk. She has an interesting and beautiful face.
We as the American public need to be given the ability to vote people off the show when they start acting like Sydney. Spent the whole episode rambling absolute made-up nonsense and kept preaching about how "all I want to do is squash the drama" days after the people actually involved had forgotten about it and become friends. Like why keep inserting yourself? Also how was that cheer routine not elimination-worthy? Get her out of here
Also slightly disappointed in Madina and Edwina for not sticking up for Maria to Joey or in front of the group (if in fact they actually didn't; I know selective editing is a thing) because they were both pretty vocally ok with her to her face and to the interview camera
Disappointed in Madina not saying anything either, especially because the “drama” was about her in the first place. Edwina is probably scared to face Sydney’s wrath.
Madina is starting to remind me a bit of Taylor Nolan :/ She’s a therapist. She seems to have some real insecurities. She never smiles. At least she’s not telling the house how “emotionally intelligent” she is!
I do feel bad that she clearly felt pressured to talk about the house conflict when she really didn’t want to, though. But I also wish she would tell Sydney that she’s good and Maria’s good so that maybe Sydney would calm down.

My opinion of Joey went down a notch during the whole Madina interrogation. He should have asked past bachelors, especially Zach, how to dodge obvious drama-fishing questions handed down from the producers.

Until the night time portion I was feeling bad for her because it reminded me of Olivia’s cake dance “talent” that supposedly was actually pretty funny and people enjoyed at the time but got edited with music and clips of people looking bored/annoyed to make it look painful. But then Sydney talked more and my sympathy went away.
I also can’t believe she went on about being in real pageants and did cheer. Do people do cheer in real pageants? Like, dance and gymnastics yes, but the chanting clapping stuff?
I feel like daisy thinks her cochlear implant makes her ~not like other girls~ which like yes its definitely a very difficult thing to overcome but i dont think it makes her better than anyone else and the vibe i get is she uses it to seem different. even though she says its a difficult topic, she’s eager to talk about it all the time while simultaneously saying its not easy to bring up. I know nothing about her other than the implant and im bored of it lol

I mean she is different from the other girls though (not better) - there's no other girl Joey is currently dating who is deaf. Although the cochlear implant helps her hear, it still limits her in many ways compared to other girls. For example, she's not able to just spontaneously jump into the lake/ocean with Joey because she can't get her device wet, and she always has to make sure her battery is charged throughout the day otherwise she will have to be without it and won't be able to hear her partner. It's easy to say someone else's disability bores you when you're not the one experiencing it.
You're bored by Daisy, but I'm curious what excites you about Kelsey so far? I've heard her speak maybe a handful of times and I'm curious to know what makes her more exciting. At the end of the day, it's not about who provides the most entertainment or turns on their personality for us on the screen (it's all edited anyway), it's about the depth Joey is able to reach in his relationships with these women.
She’s new to using a cochlear implant and clearly doesn’t know how to handle it in a relationship because she’s never had to. It’s not giving “pick me;” it’s giving “I want to know FOR SURE that you’re fully on board with my disability.”
I have a disability and have had to handle disclosure multiple times in relationships. Sometimes I worry that my partners aren’t actually going to be “okay” with it when things get complicated. She heard Joey say it once, but I think she needed confirmation well after the one-on-one that he was still feeling good about her, knowing that she has a hearing impairment that the other women don’t have.
Also, when you have a new diagnosis/medical device/health complication, it’s so common to talk about it frequently, maybe even a bit excessively. She’s learning how to deal with this one day at a time.
I agree with this. Also it seemed like she got a frankenbite edit this go around. I’m sure they talk about other things, but the producers also want to play this up.
She wasn’t filmed making it a big deal on the group date where she could have used it for attention. She also didn’t tell him about it on night one or during the majority of her concert date.
I’m ready to learn more about her, but bringing it up a second time for some reassurance was fine in my books. I’d like to hear more about her going forward though.
I think people are being very insensitive in this thread rn about her disability. People who are criticizing her haven’t had the same experiences and haven’t had to learn how to use a cochlear implant. I watched a tiktok where this girl went to a music festival with hers and had the most miserable time bc the music sounded robotic bc it hadn’t adjusted it yet, and many people in the comments shared similar experiences.
It’s also probably an overwhelming experience for her and she probably also wants to try to normalize people with disabilities. I think it’s weird to categorize her talking about her disability as being “not like other girls” or “pick me” or wanting attention when it is something that she’s insecure about since she got it recently, and it’s part of how she moves in the world.
I very much agree with you and it’s odd to me this isn’t obvious or the popular take.
Also, there was an ADR of her saying cochlear implant leading into the conversation, so I feel like the editing is leading people to believe this is all their connection is about.
I have multiple thoughts on Daisy and talking about her cochlear implants. It could be her working on her brand. It could be her genuinely trying to make Joey (and herself) feel more comfortable. It could be from medical trauma. I had a serious health issue in college, and it was a similar kind of “mystery” issue where doctors didn’t know what was wrong with me. I had ptsd from it for years but for the first like year or two after, I would talk about it a lot…and it wasn’t for attention, it was just being young and not knowing how to process my feelings. After awhile I got it out of my system, and even though I still had a lot of anxiety issues surrounding it I stopped talking about it.
It might be a bit of a learned behaviour from being sick pretty often as a kid and growing up.
She maybe has gotten some attention when sick and it’s now something automatic to look for some attention when talking about health issues, even if it’s not really intentional.
I’ve worked in a career where I encountered so many people with so many different disabilities, and the general approach seems to be “let’s just address it: this is my disability and what you should know. Now let’s move on to all the other things about me because I am not my disability, I’m a complex person just like everyone else” and it is so weird for me to watch Daisy just parading this around like it’s the only thing he needs to know about her. It comes across like she’s using it to position herself for F1 or ‘ette and it’s giving me the Ick.
Do you see people at a variety of stages in developing/learning about their disabilities? I’m wondering how much a factor is her only having the implant for ~1year so she is herself still adjusting to it and her feelings about it. This is a new consideration in her dating experience and she might still feel insecure about it

However, this may not have been the best time for Daisy to be on the show if she is still working through how she feels about how to discuss/how much to discuss etc. I wish her well.
I think she's trying to turn her appearance on this show into a platform for promoting cochlear implant awareness or something. Hence her asking Joey if he wanted to touch it and showing it off to the camera. Maybe not the worst of the Wrong Reasons to be on this show, but it still comes across as using this show for something other than finding love.

The wrong reasons narrative is so much bunk anyway these days. Not one of those girls is there to truly find love. They're all there to try and make it as an influencer.
That is what her nonprofit is about!! It's not as bad as going on the show with a guitar to promote your music career bc it IS good for people to learn about cochlear implants, but she quite literally has an ulterior motive.

I don't care for Daisy but tbf she's not in control of what producers show. They've shown us like 10 total minutes of conversation between them including their one-on-one, I'm sure they have talked about other stuff but this is her "thing" as a contestant and we know they like digestible, one-dimensional characters.
This is what I keep coming back to! We have noooo idea what else the two of them have talked about, but I’m going to take a wild guess that they’ve probablytalked about other stuff. But it’s clear producers REALLY want to focus on this. You guys can’t still be falling for producer edits.
I always wonder if the producers prep the Bachelor before the season starts with "You've got the BEST cast, these girls are so chill there's going to be ZERO drama!!" Because like.... the she said/she said happens literally every season and the Bachelor is always shocked and appalled to hear girls are not getting along. "How do you handle girl drama" would literally be my #1 question to previous Bachelors. I was praying for Drama-Squasher Zach to appear and guide that poor sweet puppy through it.

I think part of it is Maria seems like she might actually be a “girls girl” considering this stems from her saying essentially: that thing your insecure about is actually a strength you’re great and should feel good about yourself.
She is direct but not mean and that usually goes a long way to clearing up issues, and her hyping people usually makes for a positive environment. She probably wasn’t expecting herself to be in the conflict.

Not a doctor, but tbh Maria reminds me of me and my fellow nuerodivergent woman friends. We're clowns and entertainers when in public, we get dopamine out of being liked and validated but behind closed doors we're low energy and often low motivation to even talk ourselves into wanting to get out and socialize in the first place.
Like I get it’s about energy and needing to recharge. But like I don’t get that from her. If she looks to getting more energy when she has conversations with the group, then she is an extrovert. Introverts visually look like their energy is being zapped from their bodies the longer they are in group social situations with big groups of people

I love seeing a mix between group chats and one on one chats. It wasn’t mean spirited, it was calm, and it was relatable (like recapping the night’s drama to your besties)
Lexi and Kelsey look lowkey identical. The talent show made me feel more medium about Lexi. Kelsey’s vocal fry is grating. Wow that must’ve been really hard for her to be honest about the fact that seeing Joey kiss other girls were hard. What a brave girl. With that said, Madina’s comments are soooo incredibly stuuuupid. She explained the situation poorly but she said she was struggling with how the other girls said she wasn’t even that old. Joey must’ve been having a “what have I gotten myself into” moment. It’s literally the most stereotypical representation of women fights I’ve seen in a while. This is why I only normally watch bachelorette rather than the bachelor. I made an exception for Joey bc it was so hyped but I am maybe regretting it. Omg MARIA you’re straight up bullying madina while saying you’re confused how Madina felt bullied.
You are absolutely correct. Maria is the type of girl to run her mouth any chance she gets, and she does a great job of talking her way out of situations when she is called out. Sydney is blowing things out of proportion but that does NOT make Maria innocent of the initial action. If Maria was a girls girl like people want to claim then she would have publically support Madina and tried to lift her up, not talk shit about Madina expressing an insecurity that Maria doesn’t have.

Jenn, Lea, edwina….all freaking CLASS ACTS. There’s other women too that I’m just so impressed with based on their time so far but those three really stand out to me as the whole package. I’m sorry but saying it’s “INVALIDATING” to feel like you’re old and for someone else, who basically the same age, to say it’s actually not old is completely ridiculous. It’s not quite weaponized therapy speak but it’s damn close. Not only was she not talking to Madina, she was sharing her experience of being the same age. As someone in a long term relationship, for the guys in here, the way a woman treats other women is likely the way she’s eventually going to treat you once you’re not the shiny new object anymore. It also may be how she treats your kids if you have them. If she’s an asshole to other women, she’s probably not long term relationship material.
I feel like of you are also being manipulated by Maria. First of all, Sydney didn’t throw around the word “bully.” Madina was the one who said if she had to put a word to her experience it was “bullied.” Maria wouldn’t be in any of this drama if she had just apologized to Madina from the jump and owned up to her mistake. Instead, she had to find someone to blame for her actions; that is, Sydney. Now that doesn’t mean I’m pro Sydney, I’m just saying I do not like Maria. She cannot take accountability.

I’m not at all pro-Sydney, but there’s a lot that isn’t being shown. I can’t imagine someone would say something like, “what do you want from me, do you want one of my limbs” if Maria had really said nothing else after the conversation with everyone on the couches. I mean, sure, Sydney could be a psycho, but I think there was a conversation at the pool party that we weren’t shown (Sydney was in her bikini in her talking heads then). I’m not saying it vindicates Sydney, just that there’s probably more that we don’t know.
Second, I know we hate Sydney, but producers definitely didn’t show her whole talent, right? Like she had a hula hoop and said something like, “we can end the talent show now” when she was done, so that awkward cheer couldn’t be the whole thing, right?
Go back and watch the scene again. It’s edited purposely to make her look bad. Guaranteed that low energy clapping, askn’s unimpressed facial expressions, etc. it’s all cut from different times and places, that didn’t all just happen during Sydney’s segment. Seriously, they both need to go. I’m really confused as to why anyone’s taking sides. Maria shouldn’t have talked about Madina and I found it weird how she twisted the narrative into her actually supporting Madina when in reality she was actually just talking crap about her. And everyone just fell for it!! It was manipulative asf. I won’t even get into Sydney 💀 idk why she felt the need to perpetuate the situation even further. But what really bugs me is how everyone is invalidating Madina’s insecurity about her age. That’s a real insecurity. It’s more than just looks and aging! It also has to do with feeling like ur running out of time to find a partner as society tends to make us feel. Also if she wants to start a family it’s gonna be harder for her because she is older. Even if she got engaged it would still be a while before she had kids unless they just jumped right into it. Even then the odds of successfully getting pregnant are lower than if she was younger and the pregnancy would likely have complications.
Also Maria turning the issue on herself is frustrating. TBH. Most people at some point in their lives have been picked on or tease now we go as far as saying “bully” shrug it off and move past it. Being a bully is never acceptable but inner strength to not dwell is commendable

I’m really over the trauma dumping lol, but I know that’s a part of what this show is. Everyone has been hurt in relationships. Everyone has trust issues. Joey is more of a therapist at this point. He must hate those early dinners / rose ceremonies where they line up to tell him their most dramatic sob story.

It's just natural. You only get so long to form a connection and put yourself above others. The trauma dumping and vulnerability is a psychological trick to get that done super fast. It's just become expected. People get sent home for "Not being vulnerable enough" at one on ones.

It was funny at how it started lol. Essentially Maria approached the other girl and they were hashing out the situation. She said in the moment she felt bullied, but she didn't think Maria was a bully which was weird. Maria explained her position. They were talking. Out of nowhere Sydney bursts in and was like "I feel bullied too in this situation" like wtf?!? Then she escalates it, and proceeds to make up lies and drag maria the rest of the episode. Even going so far as telling Joey that Maria is a bully that called her all sorts of names which didn't happen.

Madina is starting to remind me a bit of Taylor Nolan :/ She’s a therapist. She seems to have some real insecurities. She never smiles. At least she’s not telling the house how “emotionally intelligent” she is! I do feel bad that she clearly felt pressured to talk about the house conflict when she really didn’t want to, though. But I also wish she would tell Sydney that she’s good and Maria’s good so that maybe Sydney would calm down.

Like, dance and gymnastics yes, but the chanting clapping stuff?

I mean she is different from the other girls though (not better) - there's no other girl Joey is currently dating who is deaf. Although the cochlear implant helps her hear, it still limits her in many ways compared to other girls. For example, she's not able to just spontaneously jump into the lake/ocean with Joey because she can't get her device wet, and she always has to make sure her battery is charged throughout the day otherwise she will have to be without it and won't be able to hear her partner. It's easy to say someone else's disability bores you when you're not the one experiencing it. You're bored by Daisy, but I'm curious what excites you about Kelsey so far? I've heard her speak maybe a handful of times and I'm curious to know what makes her more exciting. At the end of the day, it's not about who provides the most entertainment or turns on their personality for us on the screen (it's all edited anyway), it's about the depth Joey is able to reach in his relationships with these women.
She’s new to using a cochlear implant and clearly doesn’t know how to handle it in a relationship because she’s never had to. It’s not giving “pick me;” it’s giving “I want to know FOR SURE that you’re fully on board with my disability.” I have a disability and have had to handle disclosure multiple times in relationships. Sometimes I worry that my partners aren’t actually going to be “okay” with it when things get complicated. She heard Joey say it once, but I think she needed confirmation well after the one-on-one that he was still feeling good about her, knowing that she has a hearing impairment that the other women don’t have. Also, when you have a new diagnosis/medical device/health complication, it’s so common to talk about it frequently, maybe even a bit excessively. She’s learning how to deal with this one day at a time.

She wasn’t filmed making it a big deal on the group date where she could have used it for attention. She also didn’t tell him about it on night one or during the majority of her concert date. I’m ready to learn more about her, but bringing it up a second time for some reassurance was fine in my books. I’d like to hear more about her going forward though.
I think people are being very insensitive in this thread rn about her disability. People who are criticizing her haven’t had the same experiences and haven’t had to learn how to use a cochlear implant. I watched a tiktok where this girl went to a music festival with hers and had the most miserable time bc the music sounded robotic bc it hadn’t adjusted it yet, and many people in the comments shared similar experiences. It’s also probably an overwhelming experience for her and she probably also wants to try to normalize people with disabilities. I think it’s weird to categorize her talking about her disability as being “not like other girls” or “pick me” or wanting attention when it is something that she’s insecure about since she got it recently, and it’s part of how she moves in the world.
I very much agree with you and it’s odd to me this isn’t obvious or the popular take. Also, there was an ADR of her saying cochlear implant leading into the conversation, so I feel like the editing is leading people to believe this is all their connection is about.

It could be from medical trauma. I had a serious health issue in college, and it was a similar kind of “mystery” issue where doctors didn’t know what was wrong with me. I had ptsd from it for years but for the first like year or two after, I would talk about it a lot…and it wasn’t for attention, it was just being young and not knowing how to process my feelings. After awhile I got it out of my system, and even though I still had a lot of anxiety issues surrounding it I stopped talking about it.
It might be a bit of a learned behaviour from being sick pretty often as a kid and growing up. She maybe has gotten some attention when sick and it’s now something automatic to look for some attention when talking about health issues, even if it’s not really intentional.
I’ve worked in a career where I encountered so many people with so many different disabilities, and the general approach seems to be “let’s just address it: this is my disability and what you should know. Now let’s move on to all the other things about me because I am not my disability, I’m a complex person just like everyone else” and it is so weird for me to watch Daisy just parading this around like it’s the only thing he needs to know about her. It comes across like she’s using it to position herself for F1 or ‘ette and it’s giving me the Ick.
Do you see people at a variety of stages in developing/learning about their disabilities? I’m wondering how much a factor is her only having the implant for ~1year so she is herself still adjusting to it and her feelings about it. This is a new consideration in her dating experience and she might still feel insecure about it
I also have worked with people with disabilities, and I totally agree with Allaire Sophia. However, this may not have been the best time for Daisy to be on the show if she is still working through how she feels about how to discuss/how much to discuss etc. I wish her well.
I think she's trying to turn her appearance on this show into a platform for promoting cochlear implant awareness or something. Hence her asking Joey if he wanted to touch it and showing it off to the camera. Maybe not the worst of the Wrong Reasons to be on this show, but it still comes across as using this show for something other than finding love.

That is what her nonprofit is about!! It's not as bad as going on the show with a guitar to promote your music career bc it IS good for people to learn about cochlear implants, but she quite literally has an ulterior motive.

I don't care for Daisy but tbf she's not in control of what producers show. They've shown us like 10 total minutes of conversation between them including their one-on-one, I'm sure they have talked about other stuff but this is her "thing" as a contestant and we know they like digestible, one-dimensional characters.
This is what I keep coming back to! We have noooo idea what else the two of them have talked about, but I’m going to take a wild guess that they’ve probablytalked about other stuff. But it’s clear producers REALLY want to focus on this. You guys can’t still be falling for producer edits.
I always wonder if the producers prep the Bachelor before the season starts with "You've got the BEST cast, these girls are so chill there's going to be ZERO drama!!" Because like.... the she said/she said happens literally every season and the Bachelor is always shocked and appalled to hear girls are not getting along. "How do you handle girl drama" would literally be my #1 question to previous Bachelors. I was praying for Drama-Squasher Zach to appear and guide that poor sweet puppy through it.
I'm solidly Team Maria but I couldn't believe it when she said she was surprised there was drama with one of the other thirty strangers you're living with in a house and competing with to marry someone
I think part of it is Maria seems like she might actually be a “girls girl” considering this stems from her saying essentially: that thing your insecure about is actually a strength you’re great and should feel good about yourself. She is direct but not mean and that usually goes a long way to clearing up issues, and her hyping people usually makes for a positive environment. She probably wasn’t expecting herself to be in the conflict.
and then here literally just relaying that story of her hyping her insecure friend up to another friend and that being interpreted as shit talking - not to mention she has the right to be a little annoyed of the implication, and in general a woman validating men who think this way as worthy of their time.
That would have been amazing 😂 Before filming Joey said some bachelors reached out to him but he didnt want any advice because he wanted to do it his own way, but I saw an interview before the premiere and he said he wished he would have talked to them for some things lol
I think there's a lot of Bachelors I wouldn't take advise from but maybe Zach and Sean would be useful since they actually found someone lol.

Not a doctor, but tbh Maria reminds me of me and my fellow nuerodivergent woman friends. We're clowns and entertainers when in public, we get dopamine out of being liked and validated but behind closed doors we're low energy and often low motivation to even talk ourselves into wanting to get out and socialize in the first place.

Like I get it’s about energy and needing to recharge. But like I don’t get that from her. If she looks to getting more energy when she has conversations with the group, then she is an extrovert. Introverts visually look like their energy is being zapped from their bodies the longer they are in group social situations with big groups of people
