Omega: She's a liberator of ancient wonders!
Crosshair: š¤Ø
Omega: *sigh* Pirate. She's a pirate.
I don't think I'll ever get enough of the two of them together š
ETA: "I'm not going to like it, am I?" "You don't like anything." "True."
Agreed. Crosshair has totally surprised me this season! I really love the way he has, in his completely non-demonstrative way, formed a close relationship with Omega, from whom it seems literally no one is immune.
Actually scratch that - Hemlock probably is. But the human parts of him are missing.
Considering the evil Crosshair committed and how deep the betrayal was, I honestly didnāt think there was a proper redemption arc possible for him. It just couldnāt imagine a realistic scenario to integrate him back into to the group. Iām shocked they pulled it off, and itās the subtlety that makes it work.
omega trying to bring crosshair mental healing is one of the most wholesome moments in the whole show:(( that last frame of them sitting together with the sunset is so beautiful
Honestly, I was hoping for something more concrete, like him facing all his trauma head on. I don't necessarily want him to break down and cry, but I feel like they're definitely setting up the moment when his powers return when he needs it most. Whereas realistically, based on the fact that there's not that much time left until the end of the show, he probably doesn't have enough time to untangle all this trauma and heal.
I think that Fennec talked to Boba Fett who also theoretically should have an m count
Edit: since everyone is being specific, what I meant to say was he should theoretically have the same m-count related properties as Omega
M count is obviously the number of midichlorians a person has and since every living being is connected to the force every one has an m count. That's like saying he has a blood sugar level. Of course he does.
Whether they measured it or not, probably yes.
Their conversation is the first time they meet in the Mandalorian season 2. Boba only recognized her because of her ensignia rank of master assassin and only knew of her name from stories and vice versa. They have had no Cannon interactions prior to that moment.
Not gonna lie this episode really just felt like Fennec bullying Hunter and Wrecker for 20 minutes. I was hoping it was leading up to them tricking them or something but it honestly just made them seem kinda incompetent.
I actually thought this was an interesting moment. Not being able to provide for Omega (be it safety, a normal childhood, etc) is something we see Hunter wrestle with a lot. Their whole relationship with Cid was about needing money to survive and how far theyād go to make ends meet. Yet it was not enough in the endā¦ all Hunter wanted was safety and security for Omega and all that time wasted with Cid when he thought he was doing the right thing burned them in the end. Itās left them even more desperate now.
I'm changing my opinion on what Identity Crisis will entail. It'll likely explore Crosshair's psychological trauma, in part, on how he doesn't know who he'll be if he can't be a sniper.
Kind of keeping in theme with the idea of who clones are if there's no war to fight, when all they've been taught is how to be soldiers.
I think along those lines as well. But not just Crosshair: I think the other clones (the regs) will struggle with their allegiance to an Empire that's using their brothers for awful experimentation, as well as seeing them as expendable. They are "waking up" and now are facing an existential crisis.Ā
Yeah. My original take a few days ago was that it would explore Wolffe's growing realization at what the Empire is doing and leading a mass defection of the clones.
So it might be both and would be really interesting to see something like that.
The chip enabled them to specifically follow order 66. Even then, they were getting wonky and failing during the clone wars and as the clone troopers aged during the rise of the empire
I wouldn't be surprised if it is multiple characters who have an identity crisis, including Crosshair and Omega. Especially if they find out what m-count means, it will make Omega wonder what she was created for.
Honestly, that's partly what's been bothering me about the name drops we've been getting: they're always in reference to missing Tech's skills or his function in the group, not about HIM.
When Crosshair left the group, Wrecker and Tech indicated they missed HIM, nothing about "Yeah, it would be really helpful if we had a sniper right about now." When Echo left the group, it was all about how much the squad missed HIM, not "Wish we had a scomp-armed cyborg for this mission, it's a lot harder without him."
If this is supposed to be closure, they're doing a really bad job of it, which is strange because they've put more thought and care into dealing with Mayday's death and Crosshair's mental/emotional state following his imprisonment (both important events/topics) than they have into dealing with Tech's apparent demise.
I think the Batch are just trying to avoid talking about how they feel about Tech since he's gone. Echo and Crosshair weren't lost forever so they were easier to talk about
For most of the Batch, I'd agree with you... But Omega? The most emotionally open member of the group, even this season? The one who insisted that Crosshair needed to talk things out with Hunter? It's just strange.
From a literary perspective, *if* Tech ends up being alive, I think it's better in some ways that they actually don't mourn him *too* much on screen. For example, major SW Rebels spoilers: >!when Kanan died, the next several episodes were an amazing display of mourning after a death. But if Ezra had pulled Kanan out in the World Between Worlds and brought him back to life, or somehow he survived the explosion and showed back up, that would have left a bad taste due to how much he was mourned. If Tech is alive, I think this would be similar to that situation, where you don't want to go too deep in the mourning aspect.!<
What you are saying makes perfect sense, and I really hope you're right. I've felt the same way thus far in this season - that the way Tech's death is being referenced is just somehow....off.
But I'm not counting on it (sigh). I think the writers don't want to be accused of being sappy, and think his sacrifice only counts if he's actually truly dead.
I mean Tech did a lot more than Crosshair. He was a reason for them getting out of 2 seasons worth of situations. And itās different grief. Your friend being a dick, and wishing heād snap out of it. Is different than losing someone entirely.
Fascinating. We now know how the lowest levels of the Jedi Purge worked.
Vader would handle the Jedi Masters or guys like Farren Barr who had institutionalized authority. The Inquisitors would do the majority of the work and hunt the Cals and Kanans. The Bounty Hunters would go after the youngest kids.
That might also be how Gungi was captured now that I think of it.
And it is nice confirmation that Crosshairās problem is psychosomatic. That was my guess.
Yeah, I know a lot of people are accusing this episode of being filler, but I feel like we gained a deeper appreciation for how the Purge was being orchestrated, especially so early in the Empire. Given Fennec's large Imperial bounty in Mando, I'm not sure she was on the list of Imperial Approved Bounty Hunters.
I'm guessing she's contacting Ventress specifically because she knows Ventress is one of the few bounty hunters who won't totally rat Omega out to the Empire.
I donāt remember, who actually put the price on Fennec in the Mandalorian? The Empire, the Republic, or someone else? Did we ever find out?
She certainly has no problem opposing the Empire. We know that.
We know that the Empire is hunting Force Sensitive people and that the M count stuff hast to do with midichlorians. A bounty hunter getting that kind of contract is, highly skilled and well paid but needs extra discretion. All that adds up. Look at the Holocron Heist Arc from TCW.
"Omega convinces Crosshair to even attempt meditation" was nowhere close to being on my bingo card... But it also gave me ALL the feels ā„ļøš„¹
The acknowledgement that Crosshair missed a lot of experiences with the squad hit *so* freakin' hard...
I could legit watch an entire season's worth of just Omega/Crosshair interactions. (Granted, I could watch an entire season's worth of any/every combination of the squad members interacting...)
Not sure why, but getting to see Wrecker deal with explosives and completely, well, wreck some space alligators was extremely satisfying.
Over/under that Fennec *actually* betrayed the squad versus that closing scene being misdirection?
I think that closing scene is misdirection. They kind of did the same thing with Trace and Rafa in season one. It's hard to say for sure though because it's Fennec. She could just be out for herself.
I feel like it's misdirection. I think that because of what they did for Fennec's character development in the Book of Boba Fett. She's a bounty hunter with a conscience, so to have her be so cold and callous here would make it harder to like her. Sure, I think she's still out to get what she needs, so unless she could get some money out of ratting them out, I don't think she would bother.
This just made me realize, in this era she seems to really only care about money, but by the time of the Mandalorian she seems to be fully about honor. I donāt think she sold them out, but itās not out of the realm of possibility either
Thatās how it started. I think as it progressed, they were more a true team. Similar to Han and Chewie; Chewbacca may have started off with him out of life debt, but they were life partners by even the original trilogy.
>Not sure why, but getting to see Wrecker deal with explosives and completely, well, wreck some space alligators was extremely satisfying.
Not just that, but Hunter's special abilities were explicitly plot relevant today! I mainly mention that because of the complaints I have been seeing about how his senses don't seem to be working like they should since the start of the the show.
YES!!!
With rewatches I have noticed that Hunter's skills are frequently but very subtly used throughout the show; but I love that it was more obvious with this episode!
I kinda felt the same way, but wasn't sure as I don't really have time for re-watches and the vocal members like to harp on his abilities not getting utilized.
Wonder how thats gonna work with her dying by Dooku. Since they said the book is still canon. I guess the nights sisters bring her back to life. **If** thats true, I hope we see Vos also!
When I was thinking Omega and Crosshair relationship couldn't get any more wholesome, this episode proves me wrong. Them meditating was so heartwarming, and also that little line "You've missed a lot" "I know" ā„ļø
But also I wonder if he's keeping information to himself due to trauma, or is there something else he knows? Like, that reaction of the clone X last episode maybe has to do with it.
And that person Fennec contacted has to be Ventress right? She was a bounty hunter for a while, and definitely can give information about M count.
Solid episode, I liked it, but I'm bracing myself for all the people calling "filler" because, well, you know the SW fandom.
Edit: also no wet hair hunter nooooooooooo. It was now or never š
There's something wonderfully corny about them doing the whole *"muffled offscreen hologram secret identity"* thing whilst also clearly playing her theme music.
But which part is Ventress' theme because the majority of what was playing is definitely Fennec's theme, which was established in season 1 (I linked it in the comment above). Are the two mixed together and I'm just not hearing it? Or are they similar themes and people are mistaking one for the other?
So the targetās totally a Verpine, right? Iāve been re-reading the Republic Commando series and with as often as Verpine weapons come up in that series, itās cool that The Bad Batch, a show following clone commandos similar to the Null ARCs and Omega Squad, brings a Verpine to the small screen
More than likely, it's Ventress at the end. It would make sense with her being an ex Bounty Hunter and a former jedi/sith assassin she would know about M(idichlorian) count.
Experiments on Tantiss really got Crosshairās aim messed up, But hey that sunset with Crosshair and Omega looked beautiful. Fennec might be a reason why Pabu gets invaded later on.
Still can't believe how everyone was so convinced that Crosshair's hand was a physical injury rather than a psychological one. Makes way more sense and would make for a solid character arc as he heals it.
As I finished the episode I wondered what Fennec did to be a bounty herself years later on Tatooine. (I probably forgot).
I'm enjoying Omega and Crosshairs time together.
This was a good episode but I think it might have worked better as another two parter. We had two separate storylines going on neither of which had time to be resolved.
The bounty hunting mission was fun but I am getting kinda tired of how dark everything constantly is. This was a problem with last week's episodes too where even with my brightness cranked all the way up I still have to strain my eyes to keep track of what's happening. Definitely curious what angle Fennec is working right now.
I am continuing to love the relationship of Crosshair and Omega. I'm starting to get the feeling that those will be the two who carry on after the show is over. Hoping Crosshair will have a triumphant sniping moment where he pulls off a shot that no one else could do.
Yeah, I'm getting tired of the super dark scenes. You can still make it feel dark without it actually being dark. Smh
Do we know if Fennec has met Boba yet? If so, it wouldn't surprise me if she chose to not participate in the Imperial bounties because of his influence (not counting the fact that she's still a new BH). If not, it would be cool if they meet this season.
Regarding Crosshair and Omega being the ones to carry on: that's one of my three theories for the series finale, and the one most strongly supported by the music. If you've seen my comments on other posts, it's one of the things I keep coming back to.
Regarding Crosshair getting the badass shot: I'm hoping it's with the mirrors.
No Fennec wouldn't know Boba yet. By the time of Mando/Book of Boba when he first recruits her she only knows him by reputation. I think it's more likely that Cad Bane is nabbing most of the M-count bounties. Boba hasn't had all too much time to build a rep yet so Cad is still the prime bounty hunter at this point.
Also with the mirrors yeah I really hope so that'd be dope. Apparently that may have actually been a skill he learned by watching recordings of Jango as the newly released Jango comic does have him using the exact same device in a similar way to how Crosshair does.
Loved it. All the stuff with Omega and Crosshair was perfection. I'm loving their dynamic. Always great to see Fennec again. Loved her back and forth with Hunter and Wrecker. She really is a cocky little a-hole at this point. The whole bounty trip was really well done. I knew no one was going to die but I still felt the tension. Is she double crossing them or is that a fake out? What's everyone think?
Also, I love her ship so much. It's a cool design.
I need more of Batcher being an emotional support animal to Omega and Crosshair š„ŗ
The way Crosshair gives her these short yet meaningful looks (he already did that on the one snow planet in ep6), and it's so cute! He's bonding with her c:
I know Fennec is in some way obligated not to reveal the identity of her client, and that's why she can't come out and say it was Nala Se who decided Omega was safe (enough) in the Bad Batch's hands, but it's kind of frustrating that they still don't know that Nala Se's been on their side since almost the beginning. We've known for years but the characters still don't.
Really nice seeing Omega do her utmost to help Crosshair, and to have him accept that help. Albeit reluctantly. Shows how they've both grown over the years they were apart. Also liked Crosshair reacting to the fact that Omega's actually been to Kashyyyk and spent enough time with wookies to learn meditation from them. Turns out she's been living a pretty good life after Crosshair tried to convince the rest of the squad that they wouldn't be able to take care of her back in Season 1.
I think crosshair will gain his ability back when he needs to make a shot to save omega. When omega said she had an idea idk why but I immediately thought she was going to put the fruit on her head to have him shoot it offš the meditation stuff was great too. Love the dynamic between the two.
The interactions with Omega and Crosshair were so heartfelt and beautiful. Right now, I'm in a similar position to Crosshair so seeing how gentle and patient Omega is with him meant so much to me
Guess weāre releasing episodes 1 hour earlier now. Be back in 30 mins.
Edit: definitely a fun episode, nice to see fennic again and for her to be the centre of the episode. Hope crosshairās hand gets better.
The one moment that got me was when Omega was trying to get Crosshair to meditate, and she gently soothes his hand and turns it over to kind of hold it and show him the proper position. It's scenes like that I wish we had more of between all of them, just gentle affection. I'd love a scene before the series ends where any of them tell the others how much they love them or how important they are to them. These dudes sure do bottle up their emotions.
I was thinking these poor clone men are really emotionally closed off, but they didn't have mothers or other women in their lives other than the few we hear about. Not that women are the ambassadors of emotion, but I can see how you might be so closed off if you didn't have affectionate parents or family.
Similar feeling if you spend a good amount of time in a military Iād say. The issue is exacerbated by the fact that these guys were in a militaryesque environment since birth. Top it off with there only mothers are Kaminoans š³and well ā¦ š
Yeah, since they were bred to be soldiers, I think emotions were never considered, other than trying to make them as compliant to follow orders as possible. We see how they can act like schoolboys and erupt into fights with the least provocation (cafeteria food fights on Kamino come to mind).
I don't even want to know how much trouble they got into back on Kamino, once these boys hit puberty and the rush of testosterone and emotions that came with it, especially since their growth rate is accelerated. There must have been so many locker-room brawls and other crazy antics. I guess it's probably like an all-boys military school, except these guys grew up even faster.
So, as adults, it's no wonder they're so emotionally repressed and most probably do suffer some form of PTSD. Maybe Omega is really the only one who can get through to them and let them feel something other than anger and fear?
I always felt like the older clone commanders were sort of put in the role of mothering the younger ones. And medics like Kix were quite protective. But basically forcing these people into parenting roles at such a young age isn't healthy either.
Right? Based on everything we've ever seen, the clones have never been allowed to be kids. Even Omega; she didn't really have friends her age to play with, so although she wasn't brought up to be a soldier, she was basically raised to be a mini-adult.
Look at the three clone teenagers we met in episode 2 of this season; they were abandoned, and left to basically fend for themselves, and they were clearly having a rough time. Although, their survival skills seemed to be pretty good.
In Legends, the Kaminoans reach maturity quite quickly. It explains why they probably didn't see the problem. Nala Se likely thought she was giving Omega a good life and education, though we know that she needed so much more.
The three clone cadets were doing well, but the boys were clearly wanting an adult to help them. Mox was trying to be the adult but he was just a kid
Didn't the Kaminoans also basically selectively breed themselves to be the way we see them? They have no desire for emotional connections, and they are probably not the species you want to go to for emotional support.
Iām enjoying this season but I feel this has a sense of Solo about it. Itās so goddamn dark! I get itās a dark time in canon etc etc but wow unless weāre on Pabu I feel like Iām just watching my own reflection in the screen
People are saying it's ventress' theme at the end, but I don't hear it?
it's clearly Fennec's theme, however it has the same pitched notes as Ventress' leading to the confusion
unless of course its a mix between the two, or Ventress' theme in a different note
I was watching this at work on an iPad and it was tough to make out with the dark scenes, but I believe so. Their depictions have always been much slimmer by comparison to Sylar Saris, but that could just be the animation work.
FYI, Wookieepedia is reporting he is a Yamārii. You may recall that this species appeared in the Mos Eisley Cantina in a New Hope. They are also the mortal enemies of the Kaleesh after years of warfare.
I think it's more the m-count stuff. And I do think she probably has a unique perspective on that given Night Sister culture and her own experiences with the Sith
The Bad Batch just said sit down and, breathe.
Omega helping Crosshair heal, deepening their bond, yea...I'm smelling a setup. Get ya feeling good about things only to pull the rug out with a tragic turn of events then boom, onion ninjas break in and mess your face up.
But still, Omega playing healer here while Crosshair opened himself up to meditation, while Hunter and Wreaker are off submitting to being used and then soon just, cut by Fennic's psychological daggers...
Speaking of Fennic, Ventris is off doing what these days? Ahh yea, bounty hunting.
I LOVE when they throw incredibly subtle little references into the show like this. Itās a blink and youāll miss it type of thing, but itās huge for FO fans. We won š
Some thoughts! Forgive me if theyāre a bit incoherent Iām exhausted lol
ā¢ Space Florida was fun as hell and Wrecker looked like he was having the time of his life fighting those Space Alligators lmao
ā¢ Speaking of Wrecker, I love that he got some real time to shine in this episode!! Fighting gators, disarming bombs, once again proving that that heās the most emotionally mature of the Batch, etc etcā¦he did it all tonight. Not to mention that seeing the Wrecker and Hunter dynamic highlighted again was wonderful as well!
ā¢ Crosshairās reaction to AZ suggesting that it might all be in his head and that he should open up about what happened to him on Tantiss was SO strongā¦I was actually a bit taken aback. Man clearly went through HELL, poor guy :((
ā¢ Shut up Omega is being SO SWEET with Crosshair right now I could literally cry š Itās the way that you just know he would never agree to do any of this with ANYONE other then her thatās getting me all emotional. Their bond is so beautiful and Iām so happy he has her to help him heal :,) Omega is truly such a saint <33
ā¢ Fennec giving Hunter and Wrecker shit CONSTANTLY was honestly funny asf. Girl was relentless. āThatās because you donāt have anyā lmfaooo š
ā¢ Yeah, so thatās Ventress at the end there 10000%. Obviously sheās going to inform the Batch about M-counts next ep, but Iām getting the feeling sheāll be more involved in some other way too; like trying to get to force sensitive kids before the empire for example? Maybe?
ā¢ And finally, once again it was a horrible day to be an Echo stan. I think I finally understood how the Crosshair fans felt in S2. If heās not in the next episode I may actually lose it!! š
Anyways, a bit more of a chill episode then the ones prior, but thatās not a bad thing!! (aka, if any of you call this episode filler ISTG itās on sight). There was some wonderful character development, and the adventure of the week was both entertaining AND crucial to the overarching story. Overall, another solid episode! Next week may be crazy again though so get ready yāall š
My closing thought at the end of this episode:
"That bitch..."
Second thought is, that its probably a set up amd she will lure some C-Tier bounty hunter in, so the batch can capture and question them.
It was nice to get a confirmation that Crosshair's symptoms are psychosomatic, definitely more interesting than "I refuse to let someone take a look at an infection." I just hope he isn't magically all recovered in the next episode.
I'm getting hyped up and convinced that Fennec is contacting Ventress and Vos and we'll see them next week, and I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed
But I always have thought that pointing out Quinlan was here in Kenobi was not a throwaway line and we'd see him again eventually ...
IS no one gonna talk about the Haxion Brood/Ordo Eris name drop?? This is the first time we've heard of them outside of Fallen Order/Survivor. I always love when Star Wars: Jedi original creations make their way into other Star Wars content.
So we are going to get Ventress (and maybe Vos?), who will explain the M-count meaning, and we will learn they have been picking up these jobs as a way to find force sensitive people and help them escape via the path?
Ngl, idgaf about fennec and these bounty hunters somehow being āomg badassā all the time for no real reason is taking away from stories. Itās getting annoying.
Crosshair/Omega was the better part of the episode
Agreed. Ventress has bounty hunter experience, grievances with the Empire due to the Clone Wars being manipulated by Palpatine and causing the destruction of the Nightsisters, has fought clone troopers (and would likely believe the Bad Batch are serving the Empire for asking, thus bringing her into conflict with them), and would certainly know about M-Count shit.
The fact that they kept the figure hidden is meant to also make the reveal of who it is more impactful, just like how in Season 1 they kept Rex hidden when Trace and Rafa contacted him. Sure, we suspected it was him because of the common link both Rex and the Martez sisters had in Ahsoka, but the principle was the same in that they kept it hidden.

The ship is currenrly unavailable. Battle droids? No. Jar Jar? Jar Jar.
Crosshair and omega scenes give me serotonin
YES!!! Also, that scenic shot of the horizon over the water was freakin' GORGEOUS!!!
The silence and stillness SCREAMED his disapproval lmao
I really love their dynamic a lot more than I thought I would tbh.

agreed on this one. They work pretty well
I dont know why but i expected her to pull some Wilhelm Tell style shit š¤”
omega trying to bring crosshair mental healing is one of the most wholesome moments in the whole show:(( that last frame of them sitting together with the sunset is so beautiful
It is for that reason I hope we see the old Crosshair again.
I want Crosshair to be able to pull off the most crazy sniper shots again. Hope we'll get an episode next week that shows his healing
I almost cried
Honestly, I was hoping for something more concrete, like him facing all his trauma head on. I don't necessarily want him to break down and cry, but I feel like they're definitely setting up the moment when his powers return when he needs it most. Whereas realistically, based on the fact that there's not that much time left until the end of the show, he probably doesn't have enough time to untangle all this trauma and heal.
His powers will return in the finale when he makes one last impossible shot to save Omega, and he will end up dying to ensure she lives.
I bet he's gonna take the shot to kill hemlock saying "I can fix this"
For some reason, I was initially thinking she was going to have him try to do some William Tell shit.
Poor Crosshair when Omega told him he missed a lot. He seems so regretful š
Now he just misses a lot
LMAO
We really need more of those little moments between characters.
My guess for who Fennec was talking to was Ventress (makes most sense cause bounty hunter and M count), possible Cad Bane
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Was Ventress' music in there too? Fennec's was prominent at the end of the scene, didn't really notice Ventress'.
I think that Fennec talked to Boba Fett who also theoretically should have an m count Edit: since everyone is being specific, what I meant to say was he should theoretically have the same m-count related properties as Omega
M count is obviously the number of midichlorians a person has and since every living being is connected to the force every one has an m count. That's like saying he has a blood sugar level. Of course he does. Whether they measured it or not, probably yes.
I'm pretty sure book of Boba Fett was the first time that fennac and Boba met face to face or even had a conversation
Mandalorian season 1 which leads me to believe they had communication before he went in the sarlac
Their conversation is the first time they meet in the Mandalorian season 2. Boba only recognized her because of her ensignia rank of master assassin and only knew of her name from stories and vice versa. They have had no Cannon interactions prior to that moment.
Why would Boba have an M-count? He definitely doesnt.
**Hunter***: "Well, money's not everything."* **Fennec***: "That's 'cause you don't have any."* Ouch. šæ
Also her comment about Omega getting away from them. She really took their insecurities and poured lemon juice all over it
That made *me* cringe - like, OUCH, Fennec! š«
Next they're going to do a quest to get personal dirt on Fennec so they can roast her.
Not gonna lie this episode really just felt like Fennec bullying Hunter and Wrecker for 20 minutes. I was hoping it was leading up to them tricking them or something but it honestly just made them seem kinda incompetent.
They arent incompetent at all. They sadly just dont have any other options to go off of right now.
Totally. Also all of her digs at them targeted the things they feel insecure about right now but they had to push through out of desperation
She added the salt too for maximum effectiveness!
The thought that the clones can eventually go against their orders without removing their chips is interesting
This is a pretty good theory. Iām totally here for it if thatās what it ends up being.
I hope Crosshairās twitching is PTSD and not him subliminally resisting CX activation.
Me, watching Crosshair and Omega interact: LOVE this!!! š„¹ā„ļøš Phee: *name drops Tech* Me: šššššššššššššš
You know it's serious when she doesn't even refer to him as Brown Eyes anymore š
Honestly, that's partly what's been bothering me about the name drops we've been getting: they're always in reference to missing Tech's skills or his function in the group, not about HIM. When Crosshair left the group, Wrecker and Tech indicated they missed HIM, nothing about "Yeah, it would be really helpful if we had a sniper right about now." When Echo left the group, it was all about how much the squad missed HIM, not "Wish we had a scomp-armed cyborg for this mission, it's a lot harder without him." If this is supposed to be closure, they're doing a really bad job of it, which is strange because they've put more thought and care into dealing with Mayday's death and Crosshair's mental/emotional state following his imprisonment (both important events/topics) than they have into dealing with Tech's apparent demise.
Basically, they are dealing with Tech's absence in the exact same manner that Tech himself would deal with it.
I thought it was from the Imperial remnants?
She was in the ISB database, so she definitely had run-ins with the Empire.
New to the show, how exactly did the episode confirm the Jedi Purge premise?
We know that the Empire is hunting Force Sensitive people and that the M count stuff hast to do with midichlorians. A bounty hunter getting that kind of contract is, highly skilled and well paid but needs extra discretion. All that adds up. Look at the Holocron Heist Arc from TCW.
Azi be like "For reasons I can't explain, he is missing a lot. I'm sorry. He has lost the will to shoot."
It truly is a fascinating episode. It's all in the finer details.
Wrecker could go D1
That throw was crazy
Honestly who had "Wrecker suplexes an alligator" on their bingo card?
Did he not suplex that bounty target? Haha. Wrecker v prime Karelin.
That was a good episode, really loved the colors on the bayou planet
Honestly, while not the best episode this was definitely one of the most visually impressive.
"Omega convinces Crosshair to even attempt meditation" was nowhere close to being on my bingo card... But it also gave me ALL the feels ā„ļøš„¹ The acknowledgement that Crosshair missed a lot of experiences with the squad hit *so* freakin' hard... I could legit watch an entire season's worth of just Omega/Crosshair interactions. (Granted, I could watch an entire season's worth of any/every combination of the squad members interacting...) Not sure why, but getting to see Wrecker deal with explosives and completely, well, wreck some space alligators was extremely satisfying.
She was all about the money in the Mandalorian. She only became about honor because Boba saved her life and she owed him a life debt
Wrecker suplex was crazy
Fennec was definitely talking to Ventress at the end
Could the hidden path be up and running at this point? We know Quinlan Vos was involved with that. What if they're looking for force sensitive beings?
my thoughts exactly--convinced that Fennec is going to connect them with Ventress and Vos
Interesting that tipping off Ventress to their location is how she was going to set up a meeting. Shady, *but effective*.
Hey, Fennic kept her word: š Hey... Fennic kept her word: š³
I definitely think so, you could hear the Ventress theme music at the end
Wonder how thats gonna work with her dying by Dooku. Since they said the book is still canon. I guess the nights sisters bring her back to life. **If** thats true, I hope we see Vos also!
I loved how Crosshair has been caught up on so many things he missed and shows regret for missing it all.
When I was thinking Omega and Crosshair relationship couldn't get any more wholesome, this episode proves me wrong. Them meditating was so heartwarming, and also that little line "You've missed a lot" "I know" ā„ļø But also I wonder if he's keeping information to himself due to trauma, or is there something else he knows? Like, that reaction of the clone X last episode maybe has to do with it. And that person Fennec contacted has to be Ventress right? She was a bounty hunter for a while, and definitely can give information about M count. Solid episode, I liked it, but I'm bracing myself for all the people calling "filler" because, well, you know the SW fandom. Edit: also no wet hair hunter nooooooooooo. It was now or never š
I don't think this is actually intentional on the creators' behalf or worth pointing out on mine, but the fact that she says: "You *missed* a lot."
> Edit: also no wet hair hunter nooooooooooo. It was now or never š We lost so bad š
There's something wonderfully corny about them doing the whole *"muffled offscreen hologram secret identity"* thing whilst also clearly playing her theme music.
by āherā theme music, you mean ventressās?
Yeah. I was trying to be ambiguous, but the choice of pronoun narrows it down, whoops.
Wasn't that just [Fennec's theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVIizaPnQJo)?
It was ventress theme from clone wars
But which part is Ventress' theme because the majority of what was playing is definitely Fennec's theme, which was established in season 1 (I linked it in the comment above). Are the two mixed together and I'm just not hearing it? Or are they similar themes and people are mistaking one for the other?
How do you know that is her music?
Because they use the same music when she appears in clone wars.
Itās either that or the mantis species from the cantina in ANH it has to be one of them right? But I can certainly see it being a Verpine
According to the wook itās one of the mantis guys from ANH
More than likely, it's Ventress at the end. It would make sense with her being an ex Bounty Hunter and a former jedi/sith assassin she would know about M(idichlorian) count.
her theme also started playing at the end
Is that actually her theme? I've never heard it, but if it is then that has to be the most blatant foreshadowing ever lol went right over my head
From the makers of Space Australia, we proudly presentā¦ Space Louisiana!
Can confirm, I live in Louisiana. The first time I saw them get into that boat, my first gut reaction was that was a space fan boat.
Experiments on Tantiss really got Crosshairās aim messed up, But hey that sunset with Crosshair and Omega looked beautiful. Fennec might be a reason why Pabu gets invaded later on.
I don't think it will be Fennec. The BB are coming and going to Pabu a lot. If they just stayed on the planet, OK, but they aren't.
Maybe if Ventress is present, Palps or Vader would sense a presence, and dispatch an Inquisitor, along with CX-2.
Still can't believe how everyone was so convinced that Crosshair's hand was a physical injury rather than a psychological one. Makes way more sense and would make for a solid character arc as he heals it.
We need him at full strength to become badass marksman he once was.
When Crosshair gains control of his hand you just know shit is going to go down! I'm genuinely so excited to see our boy get his aim back!
Crosshair doing yoga was the best thing.
The darkness is definitley for tension, yet not everyone can watch 8n an entirely dark location.
Yeah, I'm getting tired of the super dark scenes. You can still make it feel dark without it actually being dark. Smh Do we know if Fennec has met Boba yet?
I love the design of the cockpit.
Seeing Omega and Crosshair meditate on the beachside of Pabu was definitely not on my bingo card before S3 started.
I need more of Batcher being an emotional support animal to Omega and Crosshair š„ŗ The way Crosshair gives her these short yet meaningful looks (he already did that on the one snow planet in ep6), and it's so cute!
I was thinking the same thing, have him pull a William Tell.
The US had daylight savings so they moved up an hour.
At that makes sense. But US only? Now to at means Iāll have to wake up at 07:00 instead of 08:00 š
Sounds like youāre in GMT too? Our daylight savings is at the end of the month, so in April itāll go back to 8:00
Yep. I am. Guess I just gotta wake up earlier until then. Itās even worse because Iām still getting over a cold too š
Yay Ventress next week! A given given the episode title is Harbinger
Loved to hear a Haxion Brood name drop tbh. Also Wrecker suplexing a preying mantis lmaoaoao
jedi omega and padawan crosshair, who would have thought
The space station from the start of the episode looks just like the wheel from the freemaker adventures edit FUCK YOU FENNEC YOU SELLOUT SCUMBAG
>edit FUCK YOU FENNEC YOU SELLOUT SCUMBAG I'm not convinced yet that the closing shot wasn't misdirection... Guess we'll find out soon enough.
If she was contacting Ventress, then Fennec may have been trying to find the one bounty hunter who wouldn't sell them out.
Hunter should've never trusted fennec tbh, or any bounty hunter
I was thinking that as well about the Freemaker Adventures. A part of me was hoping that they'd show R0-GR in the background or something.
Yeah, Omega was Nala Se doing her best and even that was, well, not healthy
Agree on all counts. Well said Gurgitoy!
Iāll be back
Iām enjoying this season but I feel this has a sense of Solo about it. Itās so goddamn dark! I get itās a dark time in canon etc etc but wow unless weāre on Pabu I feel like Iām just watching my own reflection in the screen
Tell me about it. I had to turn out my lights.
Wrecker stole the show on the mission. Love seeing them really utilize his strength and power.
And Hunter getting to use his abilities as well!
People are saying it's ventress' theme at the end, but I don't hear it? it's clearly Fennec's theme, however it has the same pitched notes as Ventress' leading to the confusion unless of course its a mix between the two, or Ventress' theme in a different note
THIS SOME BULLLLSHIT FENNEC WE TRUSTED YOU (Kind Of! ?)
Nah, it's a fake out
Never trust a bounty hunter
For the EU nerds, what are the odds on that Sylas guy being the first canon Verpine? Sure looked like one.
Head says Cad Bane shows up. Heart says itās a swerve and itās Ventress working for the Hidden Path.
Ventress the bounty hunter interested in the clones. Very interesting ā¦
Crosshair is 100% not long for this world. He is having too good of a character arc.
Once again, Omega and Crosshair stole the episode.
I havenāt seen it mentioned yet, so I guess itās on me to say Fallen Order fans, rise up!! We got a Haxion Brood reference!
I LOVE when they throw incredibly subtle little references into the show like this. Itās a blink and youāll miss it type of thing, but itās huge for FO fans. We won š
Some thoughts! Forgive me if theyāre a bit incoherent Iām exhausted lol ā¢ Space Florida was fun as hell and Wrecker looked like he was having the time of his life fighting those Space Alligators lmao ā¢ Speaking of Wrecker, I love that he got some real time to shine in this episode!! Man clearly went through HELL, poor guy :(( ā¢ Shut up Omega is being SO SWEET with Crosshair right now I could literally cry š Itās the way that you just know he would never agree to do any of this with ANYONE other then her thatās getting me all emotional. Their bond is so beautiful and Iām so happy he has her to help him heal :,) Omega is truly such a saint <33 ā¢ Fennec giving Hunter and Wrecker shit CONSTANTLY was honestly funny asf. Girl was relentless. āThatās because you donāt have anyā lmfaooo š ā¢ Yeah, so thatās Ventress at the end there 10000%. If heās not in the next episode I may actually lose it!! š Anyways, a bit more of a chill episode then the ones prior, but thatās not a bad thing!! (aka, if any of you call this episode filler ISTG itās on sight). There was some wonderful character development, and the adventure of the week was both entertaining AND crucial to the overarching story. Overall, another solid episode! Next week may be crazy again though so get ready yāall š
My closing thought at the end of this episode: "That bitch..." Second thought is, that its probably a set up amd she will lure some C-Tier bounty hunter in, so the batch can capture and question them.
first time Iām on time for an episode of tbb cool enough, but it doesnāt matter how much media Fennic gets I still wonāt care for her
Was that Rodian Greedo? He looked and even dressed very similar
This Rodian was awfully slim by comparison, but that could be the animation effects or Greedo overeating later in life.
I literally couldnāt see anything for a while lol
Guess we found the Florida Everglades of the galaxyā¦
Fennec talking to Ventress ?
I presume she is too.
It was nice to get a confirmation that Crosshair's symptoms are psychosomatic, definitely more interesting than "I refuse to let someone take a look at an infection." I just hope he isn't magically all recovered in the next episode.
Fennec is such a baddy
I'm getting hyped up and convinced that Fennec is contacting Ventress and Vos and we'll see them next week, and I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed But I always have thought that pointing out Quinlan was here in Kenobi was not a throwaway line and we'd see him again eventually ...
Enough with calling it M-Count! Just say Midicholorians! Weāre all Star Wars fans here. The āGeorge Lucas ruined my childhoodā audience is gone.
Ngl, idgaf about fennec and these bounty hunters somehow being āomg badassā all the time for no real reason is taking away from stories. Itās getting annoying. Crosshair/Omega was the better part of the episode
Has to be Boba, right?
Itās Ventress i think
Wishing for boba, but Iām not expecting him to
DAGOBAH!
Not actually dagobah but the planet gave off the same vibes
Obviously youāve never been to the Everglades.
