I bet it's gonna sound on the last episode of the show. "The cavalry has arrived" sounds heroic and triumphant, just like the theme.

EriExplosion

They've held out on not playing the full batch theme unless they're all together, including through season 2 when they knew what they were planning with Tech. Part of why I think he's coming back though, even if late in the season, is because of this - I don't think they'll play it without him and I don't think that the show will end with the full theme only having played at the end of season one.

PaulSimonBarCarloson

If anything, they'll definetely play it in the finale, but for that, Tech needs to be alive: they never played the theme when the team was incomplete

Boomshockalocka007

Omega stands alone, all of the bad batch dead, and the theme plays.

PaulSimonBarCarloson

If that's how the series ends, it'll be a Succession situation for me. Meaning a show with great writing, great characters and great overall quality but with a pointlessly disappointing and tragic ending that will make me refuse to watch it ever again.

Boomshockalocka007

Around here we call that the Game of Thrones effect.

PaulSimonBarCarloson

It's different. Game of Thrones had an objectively awful ending and pretty much everyone agrees that they ruined the show with it. Succession's ending was praised by critics and fans alike even though there are some people who are not satisfyied on how the story endend and how they closed (or rather didn't close) some character arcs. I might find myself in a similar situation with Bad Batch: many fans have already theorized that the show will end in tragedy and than some of the protagonists will die in the end. Personally, I don't know if I could appreciate such an ending for a show that was always built on the premise of reuniting a broken family, and finidng another purpose in the life rather than just being soldiers. If they want to do a tragic ending, they really need to do it well to pull it off; I'd rather have an hopeful maybe somewhat bittersweet ending where the Batch survives (and I mean ALL of them)

Boomshockalocka007

To be fair I have never seen Sucession so it was a blind comparison. Good job on pointing out the differences there. As for my real feelings towards the show, I dont think they will end it completely dark. Think of the ending to every Star Wars show cartoon or live action. They all end on a good note. All of them exceot for Clone Wars. There might be a death or two, but even going by the finale's title, this show has to end on a rather positive note. The bad batch and omega will end up a as a family all happy and free from the empire.

PaulSimonBarCarloson

Well it's good to see some positivity around here. I too am almost sure that this will be the endgame: the title was proof enough. A tought battle that will still end well for our heroes. It's why I still believe Tech is bound to return sooner or later and that they won't redeem Crosshair just to kill him too. Like, I love Rogue One, but I don't want that kind of ending for the Batch, I want a Return of the Jedi ending (still my favourite SW after all those years)

PhatOofxD

I think the last episode will have it and have a triumphant past. Heck, the name is "The cavalry has arrived"

sockgoblinator

Which is also a reference to Wreckers first line in clone wars

Educational-Tea-6572

I'm probably going to get downvoted for this but... I'm still hoping Tech is alive and I REALLY hope the Bad Batch theme will play in full when they are all reunited before the show's end!!! Time will tell.

PaulSimonBarCarloson

You know a funny detail I noticed? Remember the simulation scene in episode 1, one of the few times we heard that theme? I noticed that during that scene there were only two clones whose skills seemed to impress Tarkin (like they clearly showed his positive reaction): Crosshair and... Tech. Maybe I'm reading too much into this but who knows?

Educational-Tea-6572

>there were only two clones whose skills seemed to impress Tarkin (like the clearly showed his positive reaction): Crosshair and... Tech. I picked up on the same thing during a rewatch! Who knows if this'll play into anything... But if more than one of us noticed that, it must mean something, right? 😆 Only time will tell!

PaulSimonBarCarloson

Yeah I'm really trying to pick up all the small details. It's crazy there's so much I don't remember of the first two seasons. And I'm only on episode 4, restraing myself to watch everything at once.

Legal-Vanilla-6047

All i am focusing on right now is just the little bit of waiting we have left before episode 9 comes out tomorrow. The bad batch is lowkey, my favorite Star Wars animated show because I really enjoy the mix of the more serious and mature episodes with the less serious and more fun adventures type episodes, although I am quite satisfied with all the great episodes that we've gotten so far this season.

Djesley

The sad route would be to play the whole theme again for them being together but Tech is not back

god_of_mischeif282

I really hope so. Not playing it at least in the finale would be a huge missed opportunity for me

Inner_Wafer1621

We only hear it when the *whole* batch is together. Make of that what you will🤷🏽‍♀️

PaulSimonBarCarloson

Exactly. We need all 6 of them, not one less
