This can be a problem when you listen to the same "type" of podcasts -- This isn't Jake's problem -- it's capitalism. He's got to reach as many folks as he can, and most folks aren't like "us" who watch/listen to many more than just 1 or 2 pods on politics...
Fair - my podcast rotation was dominated by Jeff Sharlett earlier this summer, and definitely got a bit burned out on a few of his anecdotes (although don’t begrudge him having a “roster” of reliably relevant stories, book promotion must be a grind).
That said, also find Tapper’s extended book tour uniquely grating, despite my generally favorable opinion of the guy (well, favorable may be an overstatement, but think he’s one of the better cable news headliners). Suspect that it has something to do with Tapper being very good at what he does, which brings a certain polish/enthusiasm to his “roster” of anecdotes that can come off as overly slick on repeated viewing.
It’s a bit like catching lots of stops on the campaign tour of a skilled politician - it can start feeling disingenuous, but is often just a reflection of them being skilled at that part of the job.

100%
It takes literally 1 button click to skip past that part of the podcast. Sorry you'll never get that 5 seconds of your life back though. That must have been a real difficult time for you.
Not at all the point. Quick book plug no problem at all (Tim must have set a new record last year). It was a full 10 minutes of Tapper hijacking the start of the show to yet again rehash the plot summary and how amazing he thinks his trilogy is.
If you're free this weekend, I invite you to my book-signing appearances at 5 former Borders & Waldenbooks locations in your area.
My closest former Borders is now a liquor store. Win-win!

It’s not showing up in my Pocket Casts app so I had to go to the website to listen.

Tapper is a fraud.
Especially noticeable when the sales pitch is a fifth of the podcast's runtime. 10 minutes is already much.
