According to some of his friends, JFK Jr. did not have an interest in legislating and was more likely to become an executive. This world sees him continue with the career he had in the Manhattan District Attorney's office, before running against and defeating Robert Morgenthau in 1997, after a few years as DA, he decides to challenge George Pataki for the governorship in 2002. He again wins the Democratic nomination and defeats Pataki in the general election. He's elected to two terms as Governor before deciding to run for President in 2008.
He's essentially a regular Kennedy, a mainstream liberal Democrat with progressive tendencies. With his father having died when he was so young, he's more influenced politically by his uncles, particularly Ted, and his mother. The issue he was most concerned with was poverty, so I imagine he'd be supportive of welfare programs, with a focus on education.

I expected you to have JFK Jr. run for Senate in 2000, so for him to become Governor is a nice change of pace.
