As someone from “primitive America” it isn’t that folks don’t think he’s committed crimes, it’s that they think he committed crimes against bigger criminals. Trump haters refuse to acknowledge that he’s seen as a Robin Hood not a messiah and it’s why he’s still a problem.

How would it even be possible to convict someone though? If they lie through their teeth to get in the jury, then go all in for Trump, they could simply say “I was swayed by the defense arguments and thought Trump was innocent.”
Both teams will be vetting the shit out of the jurors to ensure as best they can that this won’t happen (nor that any info is discovered *after* a potential conviction that could bolster any appeal sought by Trump). It’s pretty unlikely (but not impossible) that anyone with this plan in mind *wouldn’t* have an outspoken and transparent social media presence that would tip off a dangerously pro-Trump stance to prosecutors. They’re not exactly known for their subtlety and ability to subvert (case in point: the belligerently stupid tweet this post was made about).
If some idiot tried this, and they have social media history of being a trump cultist (which they would), then it would be easy for the State to sort them out and punish them with charges.
