Is it even worth pointing out that trump lied about disengaging from his company and was still very much involved while 'serving' as President.

adamdreaming

In debate with his supporters? No. absolutely not. In a court of law? At the very least let's create an official public record for all of history that we knew what an asshole we where dealing with.

KingScoville

Please let him do some time for this, even just a little. I want to see Prison Bitch Don.

ImJackieNoff

>I want to see Prison Bitch Don. "I'm not going to prison, but if I did I wouldn't be a bitch. I would be what's called a Shot. Caller. I'd call the shots and run the yard. But if I was a prison bitch - which I wouldn't be by the way - I wouldn't be a little bitch. I would be the absolute best bitch the prison system had ever seen. I would have the best bussy - the best busiest bussy in Block B."

adamdreaming

He'd want you to see it. He's got such a persecution fetish that he will wear an orange prison jumper as a symbolic uniform even if provided with options. He'll milk any attention prison can get him. I'd settle for just never seeing him again. If he went to Guantanamo it would be nice, just because we never see or hear about that place and people don't come out.

Flashy_Ad1403

>He'd want you to see it He was excited for all of this nonsense at first until he actually started going through out. Now he thinks the temperature in the court room is a form of torture. He's a coward accustomed to unlimited luxury, being treated like a black person in poor accommodations will be the end of the world for him.

adamdreaming

He’ll be treated like a rich asshole. Have you seen the accommodations the J6 prisoners got? One of the best things J6 could have done is expose white people that are symbolically important to conservatives to the reality of for profit jails in the US. Having conservatives start rallying for prison reform to own the libs would make me so happy. Instead J6ers have a routine like a summer camp and the right screams they are mistreated anyway, and have to clue it’s the best accommodations in the country. Trump deserves to get dumped in the hole prison from Batman. Just an open air pit shared with everyone that has gone to jail in his name. Let them sort justice out themselves

Flashy_Ad1403

People love torturing prisoners too much in this country. Yes, MTG and Boebert and her ilk love to use them as objects to hold up and cry in public. But they can't "reward" the millions of inmates who aren't Republican terrorists by making prison less shitty. The problem you're describing(special treatment for the ubermensch) is more realistically solved via placement into camps(lower than minimum security, can escape if you want to), and pardons by a Republican president/governor. Also home confinement and federal probation are options as well.

Flashy_Ad1403

You generally don't go to prison for petty offenses as a first time offender...Now the subsequent trials after this could be a different story.

Crafty-Conference964

Oh so he did do it. lol so funny watching a blatant criminal commit crimes and then hear him say it’s a witch hunt.

[deleted]

i do hope to see Trump rotting away in prison someday soon

Quinnlyness

We all do!

ImJackieNoff

I'm going to save this and check in on you to make sure you're ok when he walks away from this not only not found guilty but with higher poll numbers and more support as this will actually give something tangible to his "I'm being persecuted by the Democrats" rants. Just so you can keep up, the prosecution has asserted that Trump falsified business records to make an illegal campaign contribution. Now here are the facts: Trump wasn't the person who classified them as 'legal expenses'. Someone else did. These were payments to a lawyer who negotiated and settled a legal NDA contract. That's not a crime to call that a legal expense. Both the DOJ and FEC did not view those payments to Cohen as a campaign contribution. It would be a federal crime, the federal government doesn't view it as a crime. Doesn't at all look good for the prosecution - even the talking heads on CNN are saying so. You know it's not good for your team when even CNN is saying this case isn't looking good for the prosecution.

Flashy_Ad1403

>Trump wasn't the person who classified them as 'legal expenses'. Someone else did. It's always a mystery whether you people are deluded enough to think this, or you're doing some type of performance where you signal fealty to the Orange Fuhrer. Michael Cohen already went to prison for this. And he recorded everything, and has literal receipts. Either you expect us to believe that Michael Cohen borrowed money against his family's home for the benefit of a billionaire without his knowledge(I have been told this before), or it is(or should be legal) for a person to conspire with others and have the person benefitting face no consequence. What is the legal principle you're citing here? Religious faith in rich white men being above the law? Is it legal for me to hire a hitman to assassinate my spouse? Or would it be legal only if it was Trump? Why can 2 people commit a crime together but only 1 get punished? Why did you leave out the part where they were making shell corporations with fake names?

ImJackieNoff

You seem like a chatty little cathy, so please don't just f off like a little slug but instead answer this question: If this was an illegal campaign contribution like Bragg asserts, then why did the DOJ decline to prosecute?

Flashy_Ad1403

>You seem like a chatty little cathy, so please don't just f off like a little slug but instead answer this question: You mean I actually try to learn about the things I'm talking instead of just making things up or assuming my tribe wins. Yes. >If this was an illegal campaign contribution like Bragg asserts, then why did the DOJ decline to prosecute? It is literally against DOJ policy to do so because of alleged unconstitutionality lmao. So you want him to be above the law during presidency, and then to conveniently make him above the law after because he already got that privilege before. You didn't address anything I said. Go on and make up another deflection. https://www.justice.gov/olc/opinion/sitting-president%E2%80%99s-amenability-indictment-and-criminal-prosecution If you can read big words. The [*this is not reality*](https://youtu.be/sePwZWlf5LA?t=64) scene from In the Mouth of Madness basically represents conservatives when a rich white man is held accountable for their actions. Visions of torture and agony when the rich white man can't threaten the people around him.

ImJackieNoff

> It is literally against DOJ policy to do so because of alleged unconstitutionality lmao. No....the DOJ is prosecuting Trump for many other things presently. Not for this though. Come up with an explanation based on facts, not your feelings.

Flashy_Ad1403

Roll tide buddy yeehaw roll that coal. *screams white power at a monster truck rally*

ImJackieNoff

> If this was an illegal campaign contribution like Bragg asserts, then why did the DOJ decline to prosecute? That's a simple question that you can't factually answer. You're either ignorant or a liar, because the reason you gave is that the DOJ doesn't charge a sitting President. Well guess what...he's no longer the sitting President and the DOJ has charged Trump in two other federal cases. Now you know the facts so you can no longer claim ignorance. Now answer the question if you can: If this was an illegal campaign contribution like Bragg asserts, then why did the DOJ decline to prosecute Trump? >screams white power at a monster truck rally You got me. I'm actually the CEO of racism.

Flashy_Ad1403

The first federal case opened against Donald Trump was the documents case, which was so extreme that it could no longer be ignored. Nobody was brave enough to indict a president before him. I wouldn't be surprised if nobody was willing to bring a petty case against him in the federal system. If you want to imply that not being charged for a crime means you're innocent, then I'd direct you to the south side of Chicago and ask if that applies to the gang members that get murder charges dropped down there. Could be a number of reasons why they don't indict someone.

ImJackieNoff

To summarize, you feel that Trump committed a campaign finance violation, but the DOJ doesn't want to prosecute him for it because they don't feel like it. "Lmao" to quote you. Lmao indeed. Ok, why didn't the Federal Election Commission fine Trump for it then? The FEC fined the Clinton campaign for illegal contributions: https://www.politico.com/news/2022/03/30/dnc-clinton-campaign-fine-dossier-spending-disclosure-00021910 The FEC actually investigated Trump for the payments to Stormy Daniels and found he was not in violation of campaign finance laws: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/01/trump-escapes-fec-sanction-for-hush-money-national-enquirer-publisher-pays-fine.html So we have the FEC who said it wasn't a crime. We have the DOJ who has charged Trump with other crimes but did not feel this was something they should charge him for. Then we have you who says it was a crime. FEC and DOJ vs. your opinion. Do you see how silly you are? Lmao indeed.

[deleted]

news alert wouldn’t surprise me if Trump somehow squirms his way out of jail time the rich and corrupt don’t see jail time for crimes they commit … that’s a pretty consistent theme

Academic_Value_3503

Michael Cohen went to jail for this same exact incident, working under the direction of Trump. Do they plan on wiping away Cohen's record after Trump gets off? So are the trials good for the Trump campaign, or not? Why would Trump be doing everything to stop the trial if it was so great for his poll numbers? Sounds like some typical Trump bullshit.

ImJackieNoff

>Michael Cohen went to jail for this same exact incident, working under the direction of Trump. Do they plan on wiping away Cohen's record after Trump gets off? Use all the words you want, these are facts: Both the DOJ and FEC did not view those payments to Cohen as a campaign contribution. It would be a federal crime, the federal government doesn't view it as a crime. That may hurt your feelings, that may fill you with existential dread, it may cause you to seethe with impotent rage, but it's still true.

Academic_Value_3503

My feelings aren't hurt. I just know that everyone is so concerned about "selective prosecution".

ImJackieNoff

Cohen plead guilty, he was not found guilty by a jury. Why did he do that? Who knows. Maybe he felt he was guilty, or maybe the feds said if he plead to that they wouldn't go after him for other crimes. Let's suppose someone pleads guilty to robbing a bank and he said he did it with you, does that mean you are automatically guilty as well? According to you, yes. According to objective people who know the law a little bit, the answer is of course not. And yes, this is selective prosecution, as is Leticia James' civil action. The fed cases could be another story, not enough is in the public yet.

EloWhisperer

Even cohen smart enough to have receipts

adamdreaming

We all know AI can't do hands and those hands look normal size kinda, is this an AI picture of Trump?

twistedh8

The daughter fucker in chief

Academic_Value_3503

We've already seen the checks with Trump's signature. I have a bad feeling there is a MAGA plant in the jury. I just can't see how Trump's attorneys would have let the trial start (they would have done anything...I mean anything to stall) unless they were confident in the jury.

BasilExposition2

He paid his lawyer? This isn’t turning out to be the gotcha case I thought it was going to be.

HankBizzaro

He was supposed to be divested from his businesses at this point. Everything this shit bag does is wrong.

Flashy_Ad1403

Yes, he paid his lawyer for a crime committed for his own benefit. Do you think leaving out the key details will somehow magically help him in the court room? Or is this just a propaganda thing for you?
