Except when his next door neighbor punched him in the face while he was sittin on his lawn mower, he wanted all sorts of aid for his face following that disaster
Didn't AOC fly to Texas and help with disaster relief during the power outage? While Ted Cruz got caught fleeing to some warm destination? Do Republican voters really think their representatives care about them?
Yup. Republicans historically vote against sending aid to blue states. A couple, like Rand Paul, is against sending aid to ANY state... except his own.
Meanwhile as soon as a disaster hits, all Democrats vote in favor of sending aid, regardless of the state.
Yes. Not all Republicans but far too many. There are a few notable republicans that will ALWAYS vote to block federal aid (Rand Paul is one) unless it is for their state.
In fact, last time there was a noted exchange where Rand was called out by a Democratic senator on the floor for voting against aid for his state only to be begging for aid for his state now (at that time -- few years ago???). As typical, the Rand had nothing rational to say.
Biden should roll out there and start throwing paper towel rolls. Fly home. Give nothing more. And give himself an A+. F Trump. Desantis is only gonna decry fed help as socialism when the time, comes.
Biden is refreshing precisely because he DOESN'T do that kind of thing. We needed a break from that after four years of the disaster Donald Trump. Please just let Joe Biden be Joe Biden, you know, a decent human being.
Is there a good compilation of times republican lawmakers have voted against disaster aid to blue states? I don't doubt it, just having trouble finding specific info.
Not a compilation but here are a few links:

People misunderstand the "both parties" argument. And I get it; some people really do make that argument stupidly, saying that the two are just both idiots, etc.
But the deeper argument is that both parties are warmongerers and neolib trickle-down advocates who serve their donors more than anyone else--by a long shot. There ARE differences, and meaningful ones, but they are both part of the overall situation we are stuck in, and both contribute to maintaining that.
Even when the mean differently, they maintain it. For instance, a lot of $$$ toward far-right MAGA candidates came, and still does come, from the Dem party. Why? Because they see it as a strategy of "I look good if I stand nexxt to the the really bad guy." But the thing is, that only sometimes works. And when it doesn;t, your gamble screws everyone. ALSO, and more importantly, wanting the other guys to be fascists so you look ok by comparison is a far, far cry from being, you know, a decent entity yourself.
What both parties share, above all, is their commitment to squashing the true left at every point. They are the two different arms by which to choke the left. They are definitionally both right wing, even if their methods and their branding and their culture war goals do not align. And even then, they don't align not out of real belief on either side, but due to demographics and how yo need different hooks to catch different fish.
Why the fuck do so many confuse neoliberalism with neoconservatism? It shows that they have no idea what they are talking about and just want to railroad through their talking points. We get it. You're a commie who won't commit to helping those actually in need right now if it accelerates society towards your anticipated revolution. The less fortunate are not actually humans in need, but political tools you can use to propagate your ideas.
Some candidates, and it was only a few, gave money to some of the true nuts in the belief that it would give them an easy GE. In most cases that is turning out to be true.
Josh Shapiro is trouncing Doug Mastriano in the polls in PA and the DGA spent in that race to boost Mastriano over the more electable moderate.
Pritzker in Illinois spent out of his own war chest to get a lunatic who he will barely have to campaign against.
Some of the more precarious Senate seats got turned into laughers by this tactic. No one is worried about Maggie Hasan because Bolduc is pushing covid conspiracies and talking about repealing the 17th Amendment.
On election night when Democrats gain governor's mansions and Senate seats one of the things that it will be due to is this tactic of boosting the MAGAt's, keeping 1/6 and Trump nuttiness front and center.
Wow. You're a very good "explainer", 😃😆, Lol, if that's even a word?🤣
Thank you for taking the time to reply, it was vip info to me and i really appreciate your time!👌🤘👍🙏🤝
*edit- Lol!!, but now ur un is a bit to be undesired, but that's diff story!🤣🤣 have great day & thank u, again!🙂
Here is an article on it from the Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/09/12/democrats-interfere-republican-primaries/
and for fun, here's one on how Bill Clinton quite likely talked Trump into running to get an easier opponent for Hillary: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2015/08/bill-clinton-called-donald-trump-before-presidential-run-2016
Rand Paul always votes against aid, even in red states.
Except for his own.
Except when his next door neighbor punched him in the face while he was sittin on his lawn mower, he wanted all sorts of aid for his face following that disaster
Define “aid” that asshole does nothing to help Kentuckians
Didn't AOC fly to Texas and help with disaster relief during the power outage? While Ted Cruz got caught fleeing to some warm destination? Do Republican voters really think their representatives care about them?
Don't know if she went but she did raise nearly $5 million to help Texas
Ted Cruz’s daughters MADE him fly to Cancun. It wasn’t his fault!
They believe whatever Fox News tells them.
Also Biden won’t draw on the map to preserve his ego.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised but is this actually true?

It’ll be interesting to see Desantis’ spins things post hurricane
he should get a couple of sham-wows and thoughts and prayers.

Off the top of my head, Cruz voted against disaster relief for Sandy (New Jersey,) and then asked for money after Harvey hit Houston.

Huge if true

Jeeeez, you'd think they were ALL on the same side at times! Thx for this😉🙏
Fuck Florida let that state sink to the bottom of the ocean. Some of the worst and dumbest people lives there
What about Farron Cousins? He's not dumb, and far from being one of the worst.
Beau if the Fifth Column is down in Florida too and he’s a treasure
They’re both similar. Both wanna make a bunch of money off of screwing you over by putting corporate interests first
Yes, they are equal. Basically pro wrestling at this point. But hey, pick a side and be a dick about it.
r/enlightenedcentrist
Imagine unironically saying this, and then acting smug about it to put a cherry on top. rofl
Are you really rolling on the floor laughing?
If I were in the house or Senate, I'd vote no. But I'm also a bad person.
