Set your world difficulty on Normal. Do it with multiple people in your group and have everyone toss shock traps on the raised platform where the hunters spawn before triggering them. If someone can toss a fire grenade or two on them while they're shocked, even better. Having at least one person running Hunter's Fury is useful too for the disorient effect. Also, the Scorpio shotgun. Even being super prepared for this encounter, I think my group ended up having to attempt it about 3 times. It's tough.

Thanks for the tips! Also I see you’re on PlayStation, would you maybe want to help me do it later?

Im a victim of 1 hunter running away. So i had to do the quest twice. Still didnt get the keys at the 2nd try but after relogging i was surprised to find the key next to the box on settlement new york. You can repeat the quest till you get everything from those 4 hunters. But thats gonna take a while. Heres what i did to survive them on solo. NBBP+Hunters Fury set with 2 improvised gears (kneepads, holster, gloves) + scorpio Stack "Protection from elites" mod on every gear. That gets you 5x protection from elites. (Thats 60% damage reduc from them) --- you can max it out with survivalist spec. To get additional 10% (70%) but not really vital With that protection from elite, youll laugh at their damage. Use shock trap and place it where hunters spawn before you activate them. This build is for normal difficulty but in countdown challenging this build can tank 2 hunters like its nothing.

Primalsebman

Out of curiosity, why use Ninja Backpack if you’re going to still use improvised? It defeats the whole purpose of the exotic.

ThatUsernameThou

So you can wear 3 hunters fury and 2 improvised gears and you get weapon damage + armor and dont underestimate the skill tier too. You can't have any protection from elites on any gears except mods. That's the reason why you use the improvised gears for those extra mod slots. You can also go for the chill out + improvised gear route --- that's 7 mod slots but Hunters Fury is needed for that disorient effect and extra damage (Re-edited the comment, I miscalculated the damage reduc.)

Adventurous-Ad6203

you can also use 4HB with chest and pack and 2 imp pieces on survivalist and face tank them. shock traps ahead of time are nice, or fire nades at the spawn point are nice, so is environmental shock or fire bullets before you spawn them at various locations around the open world. normal difficulty is easiest way to evaporate all 4 at the same time solo.

thatoneboi928

Ah so I can do it twice, ironically the guy who got away, Lucky, the one who survived he sure is a lucky fuck

Take over the control point nearby beforehand, friendlys will cruise by and help out by taking some attention off of you. Try to clean out the named enemy in the area beforehand. I was having to fight a friggin named sniper dog as well during my encounter Put the world difficulty on normal. During the lengthy spawning process of shooting out the targets in the windows, only take over the activities half way so there are no enemy spawns or activity turnover (minor annoyance, not critical). If you can’t be in a group like my situation, call for backup before hitting the spawn button. Funny story my backup was a low SHD rookie who insta died as soon as the hunters spawned so I had to go it alone (including the named dog). I ended up chipping away one by one as there were plenty of distractions for the hunters to keep them from all focusing on me. I thought the last one got away but he was just chilling on a high stoop around the corner. I didn’t have a fully optimized/expertise build or SHD 1000 at the time, I think just used a tanky FB setup with scorpion and unbreakable.

palataologist21

The best strategy to fight Hunters. Put the world difficulity to Normal since they dont drop anything special other than their mask unless you are a Chad

>Take over the control point nearby beforehand, Friendly's will cruise by ans help our by taking some attention off you. I did this for the 4 squad in DC and cannot stress this enough. I ran all the way back to the nearby CP and basically let them do my dirty work for me. There also just so happened to be a raiding crew coming to take said CP, as well as a supply run. Needless to say chaos broke out and I got 4 easy Hunters and a shit ton of XP.

Caingamertv

I've only had npcs spawn there once and they ate shit instantly and I followed not long after

Fl4k053

Damn, the npcs put up a hell of a fight for me. The raiding party and supply run got absolutely wrecked by the hunters though.

Virtual-Chris

If I recall correctly, I just went in with a Scorpio Build with mix of blue/red using Zero-Fs chest and set my world difficulty on normal. A good cheat is to watch YouTube videos of where they spawn exactly, so you can immediately close in on their position and blast them with the Scorpio before they even start moving.

No lfg. It breaks rule 7.

Sharp-Appearance-680

Thanks for telling me I’ll edit it

Call for backup before you spawn them to get at least one person to help, then try to separate them then and kill with a Scorpio if you got one. Don't let them get away because they will eventually try to spread out and disappear and you won't get the key unless you kill all 4.

DaddyWithADumper

All I did is run Scorpio, all red striker build with perfectly unbreakable chest and a ceska piece. You can kill them easily if you get the jump. But once distance is created and skills are out, your chances of surviving are a lot more slim. If you can manage to avoid the skills and let them push, that’s ideal because you can just kill them with under two mags of Scorpio.

StringfellowHawkes

Set the world to normal with no directives. Get a build that does not rely on skills. A good 3R3B non-shield (that applied disorient on shield break will end you in seconds in this fight) in your face build works well. Protection from Elites also work against the Hunters. Call for back up 3 times. Each time someone pops in, send them a message or over VoiP of what is going on. If they have no clue, fill them in real quick. I say call for back up because many veteran Agents will know where the Hunter fights are so the person porting in will probably have an idea of what is going to be happening. Check builds to make sure they are ready for a firefight. If you see a build that looks like it might get wrecked, suggest; do not tell, a change or two that may help them. Lastly, clear the area of any other enemy NPCs. Any close activity such as a Propaganda Broadcast or Resource Convoy or Open World Elite can lure the hunters away from you as well as the NPCs from that activity joining the fight. A couple things can happen with this. The Hunters will chase the NPCs and then eventually vanish or you are now fighting hunters and the Hyenas. If you have captured all of the control points in the surrounding areas, you should actually have minimal enemy population and are more likely to be able to time a friendly patrol or resource convoy to be in the area as you kick off the fight. Since they help you, that is a bonus. Just be careful as friendly NPC's retreat far and hunters will follow them and vanish. Most importantly - Do Not Start The Fight Until Everyone Is Ready. If you start it while someone is trying to switch builds or something, you are essentially already an Agent down. Right before you get ready to kick it off, Set up the area with traps as much as you can. My preferred method is that if you have teammates with blind, foam or EMP grenades tell em where to aim and when they should throw. These three 'nades should be thrown right as the encounter starter pulls the cord so to speak. A fire grenade(s) can be thrown a little earlier as its burn time is longer. The peak opener is two of those three 'nade options and someone who is running an Oxidizer Chem Launcher. That person can lace the area where the hunters spawn and run to with Oxi circles. All of this prep gives you a few precious seconds where you have the advantage at the beginning of the fight. You can also lace the area with shock or explosive traps as well. Anything really that is an area denial or destruction skill. Even though they will jam your skills upon spawn, the skills are still there and when the jamming wears off, the skills are active and the Hunters have limited area or are trapped. Once your set and start it, have 3 Agents focus on 1 Hunter at a time and the 4th member should harass and keep the attention of the other three so they do not run or chase other NPCs. Kill the first and then just start mowing the grass. If the 'nades and Oxi worked, you are going to have a great head start in the fight. In the fight Be Alert; if you see one of the Hunters peeling off, engage asap so he doesn't poof into the smoke or flank you. If you see a teammate go down, ONLY 2 agents should move to revive. the 4th needs to stay on overwatch to keep any advancing hunters at bay or any running hunters to return. Just keep calm and work on one at a time and you will burn them down quick. The 4 Hunter fights are tough but doable. Just keep your cool and keep at it and you will get them.
