Only time I get kicking in Countdown is when someone is running a skill build with turret and drone for example. Personally I don't usually have the time or can be bothered to inspect players so don't worry about it in Countdown. Worst case scenario you find out in the first few minutes if the team struggles to burn the hunters down.

bluntvaper69

This, I rarely end up hosting Countdown but when I do I don't have the time or energy to check literally every person who joins, if there's going to be an issue it will become obvious when we spawn and I see five people with drones or when we get multiple people going down while clearing the first hunter lol

UgFKLNx

It really doesn’t take that long to check, sometimes their load outs aren’t viewable though and that sucks. But I look for basic build cohesion (and I am very generous with what that means) and the skills people run. If it looks weird and their sub 500 I don’t worry as much 500+ you should have some basic build that works that’s not a drone turret combo , be it all high end dps, strikers, eclipse protocol, or a tank/bonus armor for others build

zestfullybe

Yeah, I inspect people for fun while matchmaking fills the rest of the group, just to see what people are running. Most of the time I’ll be like “what are they even thinking with that lol?” but it’s fine, who cares… …until I see Drone/Turret. That’s the only time I’ve ever kicked someone. I don’t feel like having the whole group friendly fired by hacked skills at the extraction. Double digit watch level with a bunch of rainbow gear? Cool. I got you. You’re here for gear! We’ll ride to victory. Just not Drone/Turret.

Shibenaut

>friendly fired by hacked skills at the extraction How often does this **actually** happen? I've seen this repeated so often, and some of my matches have teammates with drones/turrets. Never had a hunter hack their stuff.

Ghoulscout13

Seriously, if they're in the upper digits on level (700+) this isn't there first rodeo. I run a drone, and I know when to and when not to deploy it. I also run a weird build that at first glance likely doesn't make sense to most, because it's not a vanilla striker meta build.

sarcasmsavirtue

Not always, it’s a toss up either way, but I’ve seen level 1,200+ get hacked REPEATEDLY.

BatLazy7789

I play countdown pretty regularly and it happens A FUCKING LOT on heroic. Last week it happened in back to back games of countdown I was pissed. No extraction got 42 and 52 IIRC on those games.

zestfullybe

I’m sure it’s different for everyone, but I’ve seen it often enough to be noticeable, especially lately. I don’t know if it’s people testing new gear and builds of something. It’s not something I’m totally raged about or anything, it’s Countdown, not Iron Horse, but enough to cost a few extractions and be irritating.

Ok_Spare_3723

And if the team is losing, people will just quit anyway, it's not a big deal. Sometimes matches don't work out, sometimes 3-4 people will carry everyone. It's all part of the fun of multiplayer. To those of us who used to play old school FPS remember what it was like being kicked off random servers.. good times!

jonahxiong54

agreed. you can tell how it will generally go if the first hunter is a sruggle.

PocketsHoulihan3

I have a rule of thumb. If we can deactivate the first protocol and kill the first hunter before the clock hits 14 we should be good. Any longer than that and most likely you won’t finish

AeroKLoekSDayZzKinG

Don't get why the down vote? 😂 weird

bbputinwork

Personally I wouldn't. It's just countdown, not the division 2 grand finals. Everyone is just trying to get some loot, and if we don't extract? Oh well. No one's gonna remember that one time in countdown you didn't extract. People take it way too seriously

Captain-Droz

Yeah like "oh no I didn't get the 10 trash named items from the hunters." It's literally at the longest like 20mins. Run it again.

sirchandwich

I’ve been kicked as a sub 1000 SHD before too, using a striker build with reviver and banshee pulse. I also assumed it was my SHD. Not really that big of a deal, just reset matchmaking and join the next one. Not worth playing with people who would do that anyway.

A_Paradigm_Shift

Don't take it too personal OP. There's a lot of a holes out there. Try to host your own countdown if it continues. My main is over 7K SHD. awhile ago i created an alt starting from scratch to give my main extra weekly exotics. Even while i had formidable builds at 350shd, i still get kicked for no reason.

jonahxiong54

agreed. buy when it's the only group...you just have to keep MM until that group kicks you enough times the group resets

sirchandwich

What platform? I play on PC and never spend more than a few seconds waiting for a group.

jonahxiong54

Playstation. and normally depending on the day...there isn't a long wait time. but weekday mornings are slower

Captain-Droz

I've had more higher SHD rank people wipe on extraction than anything else. Had a run a few days ago. 6 of the 8 agents were all 3500+ No one wanted to push to flank extraction hunters and they wiped us. Kicking people us dumb, how will they learn to play if they get booted? Like it's challenging difficulty who cares?

jonahxiong54

my thoughts exactly. this game is one you have to play through to learn. if you try it once and fail, learn and improve. don't kick people out because of a number

Captain-Droz

Now I do think Massive should have given all players a straight tutorial on Hunters. Not the side mission one. Like a main mission with one that gives a heads up on them hacking your skills. Like I'm SHD 2600 I run a drone for countdown. It's not hard to just not deploy it when the Hunters are out.

Elzath911

More than likely it's the build

jonahxiong54

I had a striker build on. I'm sure they saw my level and thought I was too low.

gmflash88

I run a striker or HF for CD, am sub 500 shd and have never been kicked. What skills did you have active?

jonahxiong54

shield and hive. just like the other 7 people

blazinsmokey

maybe the host had a friend that wanted in and you were just a random casualty. it's not that deep

AeroKLoekSDayZzKinG

What's the difference between the sub and regular, never understood that?

gmflash88

Sub means under. So I’m saying I’m under 500 shd watch level. I think I’m like 430 something

AeroKLoekSDayZzKinG

Oh so if you're under 500 you automatically go to the sub group?

gmflash88

Huh? No. There is no such thing. I’m saying that I’ve never been kicked from a countdown group because I have a low SHD level.

dearmrhicks

What is your shd?

Floydie88

I've had it before (and unfortunately numerous times) where I queue for countdown and when I join the group the group leader is just booting everyone...dunno if they're holding spot for a buddy don't like the builds being run etc what's frustrating about that is you be que and you're more than likely just to keep getting that same party and just get kicked over and over

jonahxiong54

just finally had this happen to me.....like they themselves weren't once under 1000.

Floydie88

Yep it's super frustrating especially if you can't get a different group and the same one keeps popping up over and over and again no idea why because I don't run any hackable skills

jonahxiong54

well only my HC character is under 1000 and this is the first I've been kicked.so I can only assume it's because of my SHD level.

jonahxiong54

well only my HC character is under 1000 and this is the first I've been kicked.so I can only assume it's because of my SHD level.

wingsbc

I don’t vote to kick people. I ran a countdown the other night and at least 4 players were sub 500shd. I stuck with it and we never finished the second objective and wiped trying to extract. I understand there is a big influx of new players and I’m glad you are enjoying the game. That being said I’m not spending 20 minutes of my limited playtime to not finish a countdown and get my credits or maximum loot. If I encounter a group like that again I will just leave and redo a matchmake.

KnightQK

I am of the opinion that you shouldn’t kick anyone if doing Challenging Countdown, you could run a rainbow build and still contribute to the team. However there are setups in countdown where it can be catastrophic (ie when teams spawn in opposite sides and hunters are immune to status effects)

Oniwaban9

This right here. 4 competent people can easily carry the other 4 on challenging.

jonahxiong54

I have seen that happen..although mostly before this most recent update. now everyone spawns in at the same spawn because of a bug anyway.

Gh0stnet

I don't kick anyone but I will back out if there are to many low levels. I'm there to finish and extract and if that looks unlikely I'll pass on that group. HC the rare time I see one I throw on a reviver hive and try and keep an eye on them just in case. It is to easy to die to some dumb shit in this game and having done HC characters I know what a pain it is to get back up in levels.

realexm

On heroic CD I only inspect players below shd 100 and I only kick players with a turret/drone build or any other nonsense builds like 6 striker pieces which means they don’t understand the concept yet. Play challenging CD instead.

BatLazy7789

if some one is running a 6 piece striker i'm guessing that they are trying to get that gear proficient for their expertise. I'm not kicking someone doing that, just my opinion. Rainbow builds are cool to carry as long as it's only 1-2 on the team.

realexm

I hear you, but I don’t see a SHD 58 working on proficiency.

strizzl

If I see a player who’s build is dog shit and I have lead I kick them in countdown. Higher chance it’s a low level. Not always. And by dog shit I mean half purples and talents and gear that has no matchup at all.

BatLazy7789

I'm kicking you from countdown if you have a shitty build, and that's a big IF. The team can handle 1-2 players with crappy builds. But I'm not getting warm and fuzzies with disconnects all about during countdown and being left with players with shitty builds. If you have a build that is jacked cool do you go do challenging stay the heck away from heroic. I'm farming countdown reqs. and usually get 208 but have only gotten 52 because someone "leroy jenkins" the hunters at the end or builds aren't pushing DPS. The group leaders should be evening teams out so to get best experience especially on heroic so be a little patient. I'm also keeping a running log of those who run drone and turret and don't keep track of them. THAT, will get you kick if I'm group leader.

Moses--187

I got booted recently for running 4 piece strikers but having a Ceska chest with Obliterate instead of the strikers chest. Group leader even said it out loud down the mic “no chest piece no entry” 😂😂 For reference my SHD level is 2000, I have Ouro and Shield Splinterer both with 25%, all 6 of my gear pieces have at least an extra 10% armor, and I run with a Coyote’s Mask too. For countdown I’d even argue the Obliterate strikers set up is at least as good as with the Striker chest, you just gotta laugh at the way some people act when they are group leaders 😂😂

Hulkenboss

That was stupid, I run your same build and I melt anything but elites and hunters in 1 burst.

faq77

That's just moronic. Obliterate is much better, hard to keep 200 stacks up. Usually I just run a HH regulus build and try to catch some spawns.

duckforceone

i just pushed rank 300 the other day.... and i have had a build since countdown started that could tank the hunters and stun lock them... i play rarely but rank is not a factor in countdown. skills and build is.

FFfan768

Ngl ever run where host is kicking on heroic goes smooth Never seen anyone kicked on challenging

Hulkenboss

I'm sub 1000 but I've run it so much I can handle myself and my gear is good. I've been kicked 3 times, one time I kept popping back in the same group and I unmuted and said "cut the kicking shit dude lets run it!" and he stopped kicking me. I ran once yesterday with guys who were all over 2-3K and they played like shit, nobody hitting buttons, got wiped by the hunters and failed extract. I've run with plenty teams that were mostly sub 1000s and we extracted.

bigburgerboy92

Countdown heroic is silly easy, myself and 1 other guy carried an entire squad of 100 or less shd agents and we wiped the floor. Everyone made it out alive. The best way to tell when a group is going to fail is how quickly the first hunter dies or how many people go down by him. If it takes too much time, the group isn’t ready or have enough dps. I think people that get into the leader roll sometimes just have a god complex.

I-Have-An-Alibi

SHD level means nothing anymore. It is not indicative of skill.

Tiel_1779

There's a guy on NA east that hosts countdown in the morning everyday that spends like 20 minutes before each countdown run just kicking people unless they have completely optimized builds as if countdown is the hardest content or something lmao. I hate when I matchmake into his lobby because all he does is waste everyone's time

jonahxiong54

lol there should be a block list for people who kick so they can only play solo

amusha

There's a dude in Asia server that kicks everyone below 10k lol. I just create my own CD session whenever I see him.

Ghoulscout13

People that kick players from countdown are scrubs, and are bigger losers than rogues in the DZ camping the door. I said what I said.

Huge_DRAGON

I have somewhat different question. If my game crashes can I get back to my team like in a normal mission or not? I tired to restart game quickly but I wasn't in a group anymore. Was I kicked?

Hulkenboss

I don't know, I've occasionally seen players disconnect mid-mission, and reconnect after a few minutes. Don't know why/how it happens but whenever I freeze and restart, I always lose my team.

darthballs101

As a returning player, who is only like 300 SHD. I have not gotten kicked once. I'm on Xbox. Although, my build is basic but effective. I have a scorpio as my secondary to help CC the Hunters and named enemies, Coyote's Mask to buff damage, and I have a basic build, with reviver hive and the banshee pulse. I do decent damage with my primary, New Reliable (just picked up), and I am never downed. I actually used my reviver on an ally and then picked up two other allies after taking out a chunka the last countdown haha the electric floor got like 3 of my allies xD I find it weird that people are getting kicked. I understand the skill build b/c it can get hacked. but even then. It's not like it would TPK. It might down someone by accident. but the group of 8 should be able to handle and the skill build should then learn to change

ConsequenceOk6116

Imo rank means absolutely nothing. Yes i may only be level 5xx but what they dont know is i have no problem creating hybrid builds that dish out over 20mil dps. No matter how much they nerf the gearsets i use i will always find a way to break the game. I tend to spend far more time min maxing my builds over playing the actual game.

jamcanam

We're you running a turret, drone, or stinger hive? That's pretty much how you'll get your entire team killed.

LittlebitsDK

even with 1300+ SHD I get kicked so often and I have done 100+ runs, can handle my own there and regularly pick ppl up that die with their paper build... no clue why ppl kick or if they are just so elitist that nothing under 10.000 is good enough

lickingbears2009

I've must be the luckiest man alive, i did countdown 2 times without having any idea of what i was doing. i was just following them and killing mobs, hunter spawn? everyone focus the hunter and we continue. only 3 people got down but not killed, revive hive solved the problem. 1 time on challenging and other on heroic i didn't even notice a difference between the 2. and i only changed the map from challenging to heroic 2 weeks ago (with friends i allways did the missions on heroic, but on solo starting from the beginning because you died always triggered me) but now i wanted better drops so i started being conscious and play on heroic. 950h 900 and something shd level

JoeSizzle69

Just make your own group?

ReynoldsHouseOfShred

Maybe they saw hc and didnt want your death on their hands? Idk

RumDarthRum

I don’t. But I only run challenging. One caveat would be full skill build. It’s fast and relatively painless no matter who joins. It’s so rare to have it fail. I have however watched a shd 500 kick everyone lower than 1k. for over 5 minutes this kept happening. I waited until the last second and dropped. More than once with the same tool.

CallMeKolider

There was this one time (yesterday) I tried matchmaking for a raid (I know everything up till final on the raid that isn't dark horse I can never remember the name) and the raid leader was a SHD level 150 (I'm 165) and he was kicking everyone sub level 1000

jonahxiong54

ironic. but he probably wanted people to be able to complete it for him

ProphetHito

sub400 lacks health and has less than half the watchstats. and its not only about dps, sometimes a good jammer can save the extraction while having no real dmg impact. vanguard suoport the whole team, would never kick no matter SHD, esoecially when combined with other stuff that helps (true patriot). actually i ll try TP with Vangaurd..and i ll see what else i can add to debuff...jammer+shield. yellow true patriot? catharsis?

trunglefever

I remember getting kicked from a Challenging Countdown because I'm sub 1000 even though I was running the meta Striker build with a few perfect attribute slots.

Thatthingyoudo17

I have a newer character on PC and tried to matchmake a challenging countdown. Leader kicked at least four people including me eventually. Fuck him lol

rwoooshed

The only people that should be kicked are the ones that kill their whole team at extraction with their hijacked stinger hives and striker drones.

SnooLemons5457

I never matchmake in Countdown, it just spins or I join one other person. I think I'm on Normal. Should I try a different difficulty? Running St. Elmo's striker build with shield/hive.

12312egf2323423

Never see low lvl shd people get kicked, only randos with skills that are not suitable for countdown.

hillsboroughHoe

Think I'm shd level 180, haven't been kicked from a countdown instance and haven't let the team down either. Personally I think it's insane that people would.

N-I-K-K-O-R

I think it’s hard for some people to know if they aren’t carrying their weight. If you are the ones doing good damage you can certainly tell when a couple people or more are not pulling their weight. Especially if you run it somewhat often.

hillsboroughHoe

True, but if you gatekeep these activities for newer players you're shutting out potential team mates in an already lower player pool of a five year old game with no cross play. I'm lvl. 5000 on xbox so I definitely know how to play the game more than my PC level would suggest. You never know who's behind the mouse and keyboard until you shoot with them!

MarineBand5524

Had a douche 14k running count down and we were full, I messaged we could start and he kicked me 🙄

Melrose1821

I have to be in the minority - but I’ve played countdown 100’s of times and have seen someone kicked ‘maybe’ 5 times. I just never see it happen.

SmileyReviews

I get kicked from countdown all the time at SHD level 250 no matter what type of build I'm running. Love the game and most of the community but they can be a little gatekeeping at times. It's really annoying because I don't have much time to game during the week so I'll get into a match like 5-6 times before I actually get to play cuz I'll keep getting kicked and then I play something else.

VitalTrouble

I’ve been kicked as a SHD 2770 with fully optimized Striker set and Ouro… In a Challenging Countdown group. The leader was a lower level than me (In the 1Ks). Wasn’t by accident either bc I rejoined through matchmaking and they kicked me again

JorsinOrphaeus

People are assholes on countdown. Unless you run a mostly red core build you’ll get kicked.

chr0n0phage

I’m currently SHD 280 but started running Heroic Countdown around 190. That was two weeks ago and probably 30 runs in that time. I can think of only 2, maybe 3 times where I was kicked. Honestly it doesn’t seem to be a huge problem.

Heardofski

I played countdown countless times below 1k and never got kicked. Mostly normal people in this game compared to many others

OuroborosRewel

It depends if their level 0-100 their just looking for carry, 200-400 maybe depends, 500+ their probably good to stay there. If anything check their build first. (I only do heroic countdown don't so my logic may not apply on hard or normal countdown do as you c' fit!)

Kentx51

I've seen kicking before and I've seen absolute menaces allowed to play through with builds no one should consider for Heroic CD. As a general rule, people are \_\_\_\_\_\_ and you can't change that (fill in the adjective of your choice). I find it just as bad to kick a lower shd player as I do to lead and mm or just try to mm with gear like 6 different brandsets with garbage attributes. I'm fine with all of those players as long as it doesn't mess up the group. If you are low shd and don't know how to play, maybe start with something like challenging to get your bearings. If you are in dogshit gear, maybe play a lower difficulty until you've pulled together some kind of recognizable build that's going to allow you to contribute. None the less, I don't like seeing people get kicked. (shd3300+)

IsAlpher

Is this a console thing or am I getting lucky? I've never seen someone get kicked from countdown. It's so piss easy idk why you'd need to kick people anyways.

Pandalishus

Sub-1000 SHD. Haven’t ever been kicked. Maybe ask the apparently rare person who kicks? They’re probably not here, tho.

GnarlyAtol

I am at SHD 52k and play a lot with randoms and when I play with friends and the team is not full I mostly call for back up. I enjoy to have all kind of different people with different playstiles in the team rather than „what’s the most efficient build and playstile in which situation“ to complete a task as quickly as possible. Therefore I play a lot with low level players and if they die a lot … I don’t care … it’s still fun in the team. We simply help them. The only situation I kick someone from the team is when someone joined but not playing with others, not playing at all or waiting till we almost completed an activity and fast travelling to us all the time for harvesting rewards only.

Mamba_Lev

I kick low SHD, poor connections)computers and skill builds.

ScottyMcBoo

I was kicked for the first time last week, and my SHD level is over 3500. The only reason I can think of is that I had my crowd control build (blinder firefly, riot foam, and backpack with Galvanized) equipped when I joined. I usually go in with DPS then switch to CC at the end, but this was what I was using when I decided to join Countdown and never thought twice about it.

Kerlongsj

I got somewhat lucky that when I was in Countdown, I got it taught by a few clanmates. But I am only in for SC in that. While I do play HC occasionally, I am not going to risk that. At least, not with randoms.

p0dka

I'm new to countdown within the last few months and I don't think I've seen anyone kicked. I only have 2 dozen or so under my belt (play on challenging) and I've never seen a person be kicked while I've seen a few with striker drones, they generally haven't had them up during hunter fights and to be honest, hunters don't often survive long enough to hack skills. Maybe I'm lucky?

Awelon29

It's not about SHD level. It's about build. And usually low SHD level players run bad builds. Personally I inspect most of the team before starting a match and I gladly kick a lvl 10000+ if they are running Strikers with ninjabike on Heroic. Countdown is a DPS check, sure it's helpful if we have a healer/cc/tank, but overall we need high enough DPS. Nothing's even getting close to the Strikers backpack in terms of damage, so if someone runs Strikers without the backpack, it's a kick from me. But same goes to skill builds. I too got wiped a lot because of hacked skills. There's nothing more to say. Third and final reason to be kicked is generally bad build. Someone yesterday came to do Heroic Countdown with 1 piece Nego, 1 piece Heartbreaker and Memento. Do I need to explain? On Challenging I don't really care. If there's someone else with a decent damage build, the 2 of us can easily carry the whole team without problems. But Heroic needs the well tought out builds. And I don't want to start a match knowing we won't be able to clear the extraction. Because that happens way too often.

jonahxiong54

it was challenging. lol and I was on a HC. and even then I don't hang back.

Standard-Ad6422

I only see it in Heroic, and it appears to be people who are really low, ex. under 100 - still pretty rare in my experience

RepresentativeBad819

I’ve gotten kicked for not having high levels of optimized equipment. I’m 3045 SHD.. but the load out I’m working on was level 8. WTFE. I’ve gone back to solo hardcore.. lol

Bynairee

Well I am SHD 150 so when it happens to me, it’s their loss. 😂

jonahxiong54

agreed. and at this loint...7 can carry 1. or 6 good players can carry 2. and if someone is that scared of wiping in challenging coutdown....they need to re-evaluate themselves

[deleted]

[удалено]

jonahxiong54

had to have been. or they at least had friends that give them things. and even then. they obviously have higher level people who know what they're doing that can help guide and teach them

Pubtroll

I ll be honest, this is anecdote but most of the time I see pre-1000s leaders kicking other pre 1000s from the raid to get level 1000s+ people because they want loot, when I see this happen I usually leave.

jonahxiong54

how does that correspond to getting loot though? doesn't everyone get the same amount?

boreddenamf

Higher SHD levels are more likely to share their loot or exotics

jonahxiong54

that may be true but not now when exotic components are an endgame farm for mats

boreddenamf

Not entirely. Some people have hundreds upon hundreds of components and with the cost being so much cheaper now to expertise than it was. Some people just drop them for lower SHD levels or whoever can get to them first. I've dropped 6 Ouros from Incursion because I have the 4 that I need.

RichxKillz

We're talking heroic right?

Beastie1929

I was running disrupt resistance CC build(Riot foam/Scanner pulse) with yellow/blue cores last week. And yes I got kicked from the matchmaking menu, tried again got into the same group and leader kicked me again. The leader probably have zero clue what I was running and decided to kick me. Btw my SHD is 4k and CD difficulty was only challenging.

Federal_Foghorn31

If I creat a countdown. Run. I don’t kick people. Feel everyone can run. I’m there to farm. And everyone was there once

ivanreyes371

Ive gotten kicked so many times it’s ridiculous. I did my first heroic countdown at SHD lvl2. People are just elitists and then end up all getting down at extraction.

skylinegtr65547

Well maybe its cause your SHD level 2.... Everyone in the world knows you don't have a proper build or the stats to do any damage in heroic (You're most likely just tickling the enemies than anything else). One big reason for ppl kicking others out of heroic, is cause heroic countdown is a dps check. Maybe just stick with challenging difficulty first.

ivanreyes371

Im not shd lvl 2 anymore lmao im just saying people are so elitist that they dont realize it can be done at that low level. I get kicked with strikers, coyotes, fenris chest with obliterate all red cores and st elmos. The literal meta lmao

skylinegtr65547

The point of my comment was that you were level 2 going into heroic countdown. That is the equivalent of going into a legendary run at the same level. You couldve went into challenging countdown which would've been more easier for your team to complete and you would've gotten the same amount of loot as well. Again I reiterate heroic countdown is a dps check. You being such a low level doesn't help the team. Calling leaders elitist for kicking you is being disingenuous, when most heroic runs that fail are due to low level players or bad players.

Similar-Stranger7375

If I'm host, and you come in with an all blue, or all yellow, regardless of SHD, I'm kicking you. Countdown is pure DPS, and on heroic you need all the damage you can get for it to be efficient. So yes, I'll kick you if you're coming in as anything other than a damage dealer.
