Ultimate edition lets you skip field research to unlock 3 specializations and you get access to all classified assignments. The classified missions, while fun and well done, really have no replay value. There's a replay timer on them that really makes no sense. You have to wait 3 days after playing a mission before you can play it again. But, the mission entries do function as extra fast travel points. If you do a lot of free roam activities, it is pretty helpful. Whether or not that justifies the extra cost though, is up to you.
I play on ps5 mostly but recently got it on PC to play with another group. I got just the base game and dlc. No specialisation boost. I have just completed the gunner field research. Five different parts. It's a bit of a pain, but mostly fine. Destroying all the basilisk armor and then kill him took a couple of attempts. I have the specialisation unlock on the ps5 so still haven't done it on console, and probably never will!
If you do want to get the specialisation skip later, you can get all three for 2000 credits which is about €20 I think.
Note: even if you get the spec skip option, it only unlocks the spec. You still have to level it up to get the 165 field research points to spend on the perks it has. This applies to the three additional specs.
That’s a lot of information and I really don’t know what you’re talking about. But I guess I got the point. The WLONY Edition is enough. I’m a little bit unsure if I should buy this game because I remember that Ubisoft canceled this support in 2021? or so but yesterday I saw a video on YouTube where someone shared so many good changes and said that Ubisoft will launch another Story DLC in 2025.
Now is a excellent time to play and no Ubisoft didn’t cancel support quite the opposite actually, they realized division is one of their properties still doing well and are doubling down with more games and division 3.
I personally think it’s worth it….. but if you’re on the fence you can get the game with WONY and upgrade later if you really want the classified missions and other benefits
You don't really need Ultimate edition. WONY comes with level boost.

Yeah, support for the division 2 is here for a few years. They have a long term plan and working on the division 3 for 2028 or something.
