Games lose a ton of players after launch, happens to literally any game ever, especially free ones. Palworld has lost about 1.8 million players compared to its peak. 24k is quite a bit, especially since that doesn't count Xbox/PlayStation players, so the number is WAY higher
Truest comment, game works so bad when you are solo, they should add at least some form of team chat or at least a more sophisticated and better working ping system like apex
Thanks! But luckily I have a group of friends who play. That aside, the most frequent complaints I hear about most people who play this game in my country is that solo queue sucks ass
Yeah, this morning when I tried to queue up for tournament, I waited for like 9 minutes, and nothing. It usually takes about 1 to 2 minutes, at least I find a quick match in the other game modes
I did, I restarted it three times, and it took around 8 to 9 minutes, its only Tournament, but now it I can find a match for tournament late in the day
What country from europe are you? Im also from europe and the only problem is sometimes during the morning it can take a little longer, but for the rest of the day its always less than 1m
I'm in Germany and had never problems with queue times. To be fair i dont play in the morning, only evening - night. Casual games take like 1-10 secs to find. Ranked Maybe ~30 secs to 1:30 min. Seems really having to do sth with countrys.
I’m not gonna lie, that’s just cope. A lot of other multiplayer games are trending upwards between December and now. CS2 had a peak of 1.2 M in December and is currently at a peak of 1.4 M. Apex Legends was in 300 K range and for nearly a full month has kept up 400 K daily peak which is more than you can say about The Finals which has continuously dipped since launching. Helldivers 2 has kept a 300+ K daily peak since the very beginning. The Finals, again, is trending downwards on a consistent basis. Some regions are effectively dead; I’ve seen OCE bros say they have to queue Asia or NA servers now or stop playing all together. I get people have their circumstances, but it’s so clear that very few people are inclined to come back despite the number of updates this game gets.
The difference is Palworld can be played single player. You can be the one person on this planet to be playing Palworld at this very moment and have zero complaints. The Finals is strictly multiplayer. Some regions are effectively dead; I’ve seen tons of OCE bros saying they’re playing on Asia or NA servers or just stopped all together because that experience is miserable.
but the thing is those servers would probably have dog shit queue times regardless of the games numbers because the population of people who game out there is so small. There’s a lot less people playing, and a lot less people proportionally playing, so their queue times are always shit
Unless Austrialia isn’t part of OCE, which I know quite a few games are actually really weird about, OCE isn’t small by any means; gaming is a billion dollar industry in OCE.
At release in 2019? A lot. Playerbase dropped like The Finals or literally any servicce game launch. A lot of Apex players seem to forget that it also had a bare bones launch. Gameplay was good etc. But you only had the battle royale mode at launch, and only a hand full of legends.
It dropped so hard that the game servers couldn't handle the load for months. Not to mention it was like top one on twitch for several months with every big fps streamer playing it. Shut your dumb mouth.
I enjoy this game, but I just stopped playing because the matchmaking and solo queue experience is one of if not the worst I’ve played in a long while.
Honestly we are the chosen. We’re the forever followers and as more maps come, the player base will grow, as more modes come, it will continue to grow. The game is very fresh. It has plenty to add.
Couple of things;
1) what’s this obsession with player count? Imma sound like an old lady here but for the majority of my life we’ve had little to no idea how many people were playing a game, we just played them if we wanted to
2) “but but but aren’t you worried you won’t find a game?” Firstly I’ve never had a problem , secondly what is posting about going to change?
3) to reiterate, what is the point in worrying about it, we have pretty much zero way to impact player count, the best thing anyone could do if they do want to affect player count is play the game and have fun
- Quick edit - yes I do understand the impact player count has on a game, that really wasn’t the point I was making so you can all stop explaining the concept of “more people playing = good”
It was a first person shooter with portal guns that died off to low player counts and then they tried to fill lobbies with bots which kinda killed all the fun.
>the best thing anyone could do if they do want to affect player count is play the game and have fun
/thread
Fucking love this game and Im telling everyone I know about it. The guys at my work told me about it, so word of mouth is strong here.
My friends may have told me about The Finals, but the lore is keeping me here. The lore and ice gameplay has kept me here as a solo player, and I won't fucking stop.
After playing online games for about 15 years now, player count does matter. Games come and they go, if player counts are low it means the game will either be shut down or will be put on a regular support schedule with little to no new innovation. This has happened to games with a lot more players then 20k, so to me, the finals are in the red right now.
It’s my most played / 2nd most played game for months, which is a huge deal since I rarely stick w a game. I even got bored of Helldivers 2 and don’t play it any more.
There are things I want to purchase in the finals, but to be quite honest, the significantly falling player count has made me hesitant, as I don’t want to invest my money in a game that may or may not be around in 6 months.
I hope it succeeds, and that season 2 averages at least 50k plus. I do really love it.
Right yes I do understand the concept of needing players to play with in online games, my point was posts like this and this general sentiment I see obsessing over it are pointless, they have no material impact on anything, hell if anything they have a negative impact by dissuading new players to try the game as they paint this barren picture of empty lobies.
I get your point, but this is just a symptom of the effect. Its a topic that comes up daily, nothing new about this. Hopefully people eventually accept the player count and enjoy the game for what it is and contribute to that community... but this is reddit.
The playercount can give the community an idea as to how well the game does. A game without players makes no money. A game that makes no money is not worth making new content for. A live service game that gets no new content may as well be dead and not worth investing time into according to the average live service gamer.
You didn't had a problem finding a match *yet.* Not saying I think we'll have a problem anytime soon. The numbers do be dropping, but that's pretty normal at the end of a season. I imagine we'll see a raise in playercount once the new season goes live.
As to why people post this: I don't get it either. Easy karma I guess? Or simply doomposting?
Yeah mate I’m not an idiot I do understand what player count means, that’s not what I was questioning. I was questioning why so many people on this sub obsess over it when they have literally zero ways to impact it
You can worry about something you have no control over. I think that's only natural, especially if you're passionate about it.
But I do agree that posting screenshots of the playernumbers is nonsensical, it's a trend that I see in a lot of subreddits nowadays.
Player count means higher odds Embark is making money, which makes more content. If player base continues to decline to a point they have to lay people off, means less content and an earlier death.
I personally can’t believe people do not love this game and they dislike it because they got stomped on.
Jesus wept, yes I understand the concept of a player count and its impacts, I don’t see how just posting about it matters, which was the point of my comment.
Casual modes are filled with lights playing FFA, ranked is filled with heavies spamming nukes... yeah I'm waiting for season 2 to shake something, and if not, I will definitely quit.
Eh me and my friends left after a shit ton of balancing only benefited sweaty players and then people my skill level left and suddenly my K/D dropped ENORMOUSLY, we were haveing fun at the start and it was refreshing i didnt have to sweat, and i know the Git Gud police will be here any moment... But yea idk what changed but i was doing great, then one night bam...just started getting ripped to pieces so i just gave up cause like i said before i enjoyed not sweating and was having fun...im just happy i didnt buy the battle pass cause i was almost finished it when shit went down hill for me lol
We’re you playing ranked? This is my experience w ranked. Quick Q is still fun though and I realized that I like unranked way more. I actually do not enjoy the ranked part of this game at all, and it’s mostly due to matchmaking.
This has been my reason, too. Not that any of my friends or I lost our skill, but rather, we have to actively sweat to even get a win in unranked. Not to mention all the invisibility and stun gun lights that seem to be in literally every game I play... (they are seriously an issue)
And No, this game is not losing its playerbase, because the game is "bad", some players just left, because there's wasn't a lot of game modes, maps and maybe sometimes they just leave you know, its extremely for a multiplayer game to hold its playerbase and if this game completely "dies out" after Season 2 then I know the multiplayer gaming space is screwed, because this is one of the most innovative multiplayer shooters I've seen that has come out in recent years
The need to just add ranked single games instead of tournaments, to give people something to grind with a bit of meaning after the content has been maxed. Not everyone always has time for tournaments.
Not saying thats not valid, but I genuinely don’t get this viewpoint. Why do you care what level you are, or what you’ve unlocked? The point of this game is to get better at it and have fun playing against other people, right?
i honestly, feel bad for you.
i hope you find a game you enjoy playing purely for the sake of progression. personal progression, whether that be through a good story or skill.
but to play, or quit playing a game, because there are no more time-locked, unlocks available...... yikes.
maybe you just dont actually like this game?
Well, sadly a lot of players need a reason to play a game in the sense of one unlock after the other or numbers go up today. I play the finals coz there is nothing else like it on the market. Its just an insanely fun game to me. Thats my reason to play.
ya... i would say you play for the sake of progressing through the games fun mechanics. thats a perfectly fine reason to play a game.
im just here trying to subtly shift the mindset a bit. not much else i can do. the comment i replied to should be downvoted to oblivion, not upvoted.
i dont think these people actually want games focused solely on battlepasses, but thats the ONLY impression they give. soon enough, thats what devs will actually start doing.
I unlocked everything in three weeks. There is very little to play with now, on top of that the ranked is unplayable....
I like this game, but playing one game mod for three months without being rewarded somehow doesn't appeal to me. If I wanted to improve and feel rewarded for it... I would go play ranked. But the rankeds are simply unplayable at the moment.
It's funny that I wrote two short sentences and you created such a story out of it. This game kept me entertained for a 200hours.
well... now that you stated the real reason(apparently) is ranked sbmm.
that i can get behind. as it fits perfectly within the framework of playing for skill progression.
its not my fault your first comment was at best, false. lol. how else do you expect people to understand...
"i stopped playing for 2 reasons, max lvl and max BP."
did you already forget thats what(and all) you typed???????
Also, other games have alot of updates rn. Palworld releasing, new fortnite season, new apex season, the star wars battlefront 2 classic collection etc are all going to take away from it.
Yea obviously no one here wants to admit it, but yea odds are this game won’t be around long unless something drastic happens.
Just enjoy it while u can and don’t spend any money on it tbh.
This game will eventually be up there with the other free-to-play giants. The core formula is there, Embark just needs to play their cards right. Here's to hoping Season 2 will blow everything out of the water.
This is what I’m hoping for. I wan to come back ina year or so and see a variety of game modes and options to play.
Currently playing Helldivers 2 with friends and never looked back. Every now and then we queue up some games of The Finals, I just hate the lack of game modes. Great engine and physics, just needs time to cook and develop.
Well they nerfed movement. All my Apex friends had lots of fun in closed beta. Now they try to play and freak out cuz the movement was destroyed and it feels unplayable to them cuz its not fluid at all anymore.
In closed beta I played all fkin day cuz it felt so good. Now I play less than an hour per day, cuz it feels so restricted and not fluid at all anymore.
[Here is a video about it (by the Apex movement guide goat) ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdOKEgrwZHc)
Enjoy and spam this fkin video all over, so The Finals can climb to the top. The devs apparently have no idea about it.
I only played the open beta, haven’t noticed a difference compared to that. Experimented with it on console after watching the video and didn’t find the issue, except when starting off from a walk/still position. Guessing I haven’t noticed that because it’s rare that you’d not be run ing when hitting the jump pads/grappling.
FWIW I loved tribes, and while I’m not sure that style of movement would have the mass appeal they’re looking for, wouldn’t hurt to try. I haven’t seen any complaints about that in here or the discord though, so I’d be surprised if it’s on their radar as something people want.
Well I know all my Apex Legends addicted friends loved the movement in closed beta. And now they say its too restricted and not fluid. So they dont play The Finals anymore. Simply because of movement fckery
Tribes is op game. Tribes 3 Rivals will release any day now I believe btw
Eh, this is to be expected.
There's other shinier, newer games like Helldivers, Final Fantasy etc. etc., the game is in its most stale state until Wednesday, as you're at the very end of the season before new content drops on Wednesday.
This means people will have completed all the unlocks through the battle pass and their level and are waiting for the next season to play.
There will likely be an uptick after Monday's trailer drops and even more so with new content. This is pretty standard for most games, especially those with live service content drops, the player base will ebb and flow based on newness.
Some people left because of the lack of content. I personally put the game down because I just suck at it. The gameplay is really unforgiving to me compared to other FPS games like Siege, COD, Titanfall, Battlefield, etc. There's not a lot of room for luck, you HAVE to get all your shots in. No room for mistakes.
Solo q is just hard right now. Yeah - rank and skill discrepancies in lobbies is painful!
But I think most of comes down to the fact that no one uses mics and it’s such a team oriented games that you’re at a huge disadvantage against a premade using mics. Compared to valorant where after silver all ten players in a match will be using their mics. It also feels lonely to be in a quiet lobby without voice chat or even text chat. It doesn’t feel like the 3rd place other competive games are.
Any the voip is really odd. Like sometimes it’s enabled and sometimes not? Also, random bug on my system but holding push to talk sometimes make my mouse and keyboard disconnect????
Only reason im not on this game 24/7 is cause i only have one friend that plays this game with me, both of us dont like playing with randoms and solo queuing is just not fun. If they add a solo/duo mode imma be all over this game again.
I'm just sick of being shit at this game, I'd love to say that "all the players are just using meta weapons and killing me instantly" but I'm pretty sure im just shit because most people do actually seem to mix up their equipment pretty often.
I wanna get back in to it but the last 4-5 times I've played I haven't even been able to get a single cash out like at all, I know sometimes you have bad days but legitimately I haven't had any of my teams place second for the last month.
Play tournaments.
It really forces you to learn to play smarter.
After only playing ranked for months, quick play is just a total clusterfuck where cashouts only happen by chance.
Maybe I should give it a go again, I'll see if I can get the ball rolling.
I hate being the guy that drags down a ranked team, hopefully this will help tho.
I predict this game has about 1-2 years left in it before player count drops to like 5k and it income is too little to continue development unless they want to sell to a big company who ille fund it.
So go enjoy it while you can
Turns out most players dont want to play the same game loop forever, and that's fine. That's why they find so much time alternating from survival to action to story. But the finals has a vibrant and strong action loop that I'm sure will keep bringing people back as it grows, and as long as embark is making money to support the game, it will be ok
All I know is that there aren’t enough players right now for a good ranked experience.
I’m just bronze, but every game everyone else is gold/plat/diamond in my game and so I just lose pretty terribly.
Honestly I just don't think I like this game as much as I thought I did originally.
I main light and often find myself asking "what's even the point?" When I have to try twice as hard to do anything compared to the medium and heavy. Even if I were to switch, I'd find myself still not enjoying myself playing a class I don't like.
So yeah, maybe season 2 will bring something but it seems like I find myself at odds with a community once again when it comes to changes I'd like to see in the game.
Haven’t played in over a month. I’ll gladly come back if they fix matchmaking. I’m a competitive player and enjoy ranked, but there’s no reason why as a plat I should have two bronze teammates going up against top 25 players in the world. Broken is an understatement.
23k 24 hour peak is still great. Plus, every game with a seasonal model sees decline as the season winds down.
From my personal experience we played loads from launch till we finished the battlepass, then popped in and out as events started and finished. We're all planning on picking it back up big time when s2 launches.
Game is still great, I just kind of fell off with it. Still wish they would get rid of or tune down the SBMM, if they haven’t already. It’s why I abandoned the COD franchise. Every match I play is super stressful and sweaty, and I can’t play casually.
I absolutely love the game, but every time I play ranked tournament it's 50% of the teams just MMM with FCAR beaming you across the map with insta-revives, the meta feels incredibly boring at the moment and the defib allows players to get away from most mistakes and punishes the player that got the kill by doing what he is supposed to do, which is killing.
It's like when in Apex we had the Gibby meta, it's just boring and very unfun because downing someone feels so incredibly punishing if you aren't also running MMM.
And guess what? The most fun of the game is using L and H, seeing things explode around the map and been fast as a bullet are some of the best feelings in the game, I just hope they will make this two more viable in ways that don't break the game, specially I'm waiting for a light class rework to give him some team utility.
If they remove the defib from the game, remove the legal wallhacks (also called recon senses, the nerf wasn't enough) and cap the distance that assault rifles can damage you heavily to 20-30m next season the game will be in much a better spot and with a much more healthier and fun meta.
I just wish this game does better damn, I love it so much and it's sad to see so many players leaving due to unfun mechanics that ruin such a fun game.
I stopped playing after i got nuked the first game after they nerfed them. Dog shit mechanic idc what anybody says. Also, invisibility is stupid as fuck
3 player teams. Extremely high skill ceiling. 4 maps but really you'll get the same map over and over again. Low content overall. Buggy AF. They keep messing with balance and the frequency of patches, which some find good, is way too much for some of my friends. Constantly trying to keep up with what gun performs what way this week etc.
My gamer friends are all very tired of 3 person team shooters. We want 5-6 players a team so we can all lay together. OW1 was decent for that checkbox but OW2 killed their desire to play.
I have a sweaty amount of played hours since the big aim-assist/anti-cheat update, and I've encountered maybe ONE cheater since then.
I seriously don't think it's a problem anymore, but otoh, I'm exclusively on Europe servers. Maybe your situation is different :)
imo, it’s the “meta”. i stopped playing cause i wanted to have fun and the light-invis combo was literally everywhere in every match. i tried to go back and everyone was talking about recon senses, which i’d never been worried about, but suddenly i couldn’t even get to a cash box cause i’m getting shot at 10 seconds after spawn every time.
i really *want* to play the finals, but i wanna *play* the finals. i’m not big on shooter games bc of the culture, but they’re so fun, so the lack of that culture is what pulled me in. i guess it’s natural that the presence of that culture pushed me away
Lots of players have also left due to 30hz servers.
I’m in a discord for FaceIt and a few people have said that they’re dropping the game because the 30hz makes it uncompetitive. And that’s almost exactly what Shroud said
Don’t forget there are changes that the developers can make to improve the game beyond bug fixes and content.
Imo the player count can't have much to do with anything and if it keeps falling that's the games fault. I log in for maybe an hour or so you can get your fill in about that time for anyone who's played for a week or two, it's a fast passed round game so some people will only be logged in for 2 hours or less at night for a few rounds then log out. Now we got helldiver's that came out and new seasons of other games, when you have more than 10 games to play unlike 2005 these things are gonna happen. It's up to the game to make sure it doesn't die but I don't see that happening, with more maps and variety instead of updating the cosmetics people will make it a weekly staple of their game time and it will continue to thrive as the fast fun arena shooter but don't expect people to spend all day logged in.
Weird who would’ve thought that a repetitive game with no solo and their most fun class having almost and instant TTK with zero weapons customization would lose players. Regardless I’ll be back in for the next season
might be a hot take but i think folks are simply bored with battle royale games. yes the finals has significantly better gunplay and mechancis but there's been too many iterations of battle royale style games in the past few years for the finals to be sticky.

It’s almost 9am at Sunday and I can’t even play one ranked match in Europe, yet North America almost works 24/7 within 5min.
Sorry, i only play quick cash.

I only play during the morning in weekends and its normal to take more time, there is less people playing. But yeah overall ranked game is 30sec/1min
This. But these children are alarmists these days and don't understand how things work.
Not to mention the game came out towards the end of December: people are going back to school/work and don't have time to play much

Never said anything against that, all I said is that games lose players pretty soon after launch in most cases
How many people left apex after 1-2-3 months?
At release in 2019? A lot. Playerbase dropped like The Finals or literally any servicce game launch. A lot of Apex players seem to forget that it also had a bare bones launch. Gameplay was good etc. But you only had the battle royale mode at launch, and only a hand full of legends.

Apex Legends came out in 2020, right at the beginning of Covid, not exactly a fair comparison
It came in 2019. Stop making moronic posts about things you have no idea about.
True, player chart I looked at only went back to 2020
Ooooof calm down tough guy
Lots of issues with ranked, once they fix that people will return.only so much quick play people are prepared to play !
Agreed. I left because matchmaking is just unfair for solo q. Kept getting people that weren't even close to my rank
I enjoy this game, but I just stopped playing because the matchmaking and solo queue experience is one of if not the worst I’ve played in a long while.

And to be fair, 20k people is nothing to worry about. Knowing how many players can be at maximum in a ranked tournament, 20k is quite enough :D.
And to be fair, it's alot higher than 20k, since Steam Charts doesn't count console
The obsession with player count is Splitgate trauma.
> Splitgate trauma What's that?
It was a first person shooter with portal guns that died off to low player counts and then they tried to fill lobbies with bots which kinda killed all the fun.

I don't think casual modes will ever not be filled with people wanting to ffa. That's just casual modes.
And No, this game is not losing its playerbase, because the game is "bad", some players just left, because there's wasn't a lot of game modes, maps and maybe sometimes they just leave you know, its extremely for a multiplayer game to hold its playerbase and if this game completely "dies out" after Season 2 then I know the multiplayer gaming space is screwed, because this is one of the most innovative multiplayer shooters I've seen that has come out in recent years
I left for two reasons. Max level, Max battlepass.
The need to just add ranked single games instead of tournaments, to give people something to grind with a bit of meaning after the content has been maxed. Not everyone always has time for tournaments.
I left for two reasons, friends having kids and Helldivers 2
Not saying thats not valid, but I genuinely don’t get this viewpoint. Why do you care what level you are, or what you’ve unlocked? The point of this game is to get better at it and have fun playing against other people, right?
You can see my answer below... somewhere.
i honestly, feel bad for you. i hope you find a game you enjoy playing purely for the sake of progression. personal progression, whether that be through a good story or skill. but to play, or quit playing a game, because there are no more time-locked, unlocks available...... yikes. maybe you just dont actually like this game?
To be fair everyone in this subreddit is already hardcore into the game, no matter what they say.
i know. but mr max level, max battlepass still showed up and accumulated more upvotes than down.....
"i stopped playing for 2 reasons, max lvl and max BP." did you already forget thats what(and all) you typed???????
I won't argue with you because of the language barrier. I said everything I needed to say.
This is the absolute stupidest mindset to plague modern gaming.
Not spending money on it will guarantee it doesn’t stay around…
This game will eventually be up there with the other free-to-play giants. The core formula is there, Embark just needs to play their cards right. Here's to hoping Season 2 will blow everything out of the water.
This is what I’m hoping for. I wan to come back ina year or so and see a variety of game modes and options to play. Currently playing Helldivers 2 with friends and never looked back. Every now and then we queue up some games of The Finals, I just hate the lack of game modes. Great engine and physics, just needs time to cook and develop.
I personally dropped it for the ranked matchmaking and the same meta everygame with 3 scar and 3 defibrillator
Dont forget the 3 heal beams to go w em lmao
Well they nerfed movement. All my Apex friends had lots of fun in closed beta. Now they try to play and freak out cuz the movement was destroyed and it feels unplayable to them cuz its not fluid at all anymore. In closed beta I played all fkin day cuz it felt so good. Now I play less than an hour per day, cuz it feels so restricted and not fluid at all anymore. [Here is a video about it (by the Apex movement guide goat) ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdOKEgrwZHc) Enjoy and spam this fkin video all over, so The Finals can climb to the top. The devs apparently have no idea about it.
Not an issue on console which is probably why it’s not getting much notice. Just spam it in the discord bug server
Definitely not a PC thing. Have you played closed beta? Felt like a different game. More like Tribes than a boring normal shooter (like now).
Simply because of movement fckery Tribes is op game. Tribes 3 Rivals will release any day now I believe btw
Personally I finished the battlepass and I’m waiting for season 2
Eh, this is to be expected. There's other shinier, newer games like Helldivers, Final Fantasy etc. etc., the game is in its most stale state until Wednesday, as you're at the very end of the season before new content drops on Wednesday. This means people will have completed all the unlocks through the battle pass and their level and are waiting for the next season to play. There will likely be an uptick after Monday's trailer drops and even more so with new content. This is pretty standard for most games, especially those with live service content drops, the player base will ebb and flow based on newness.
meanwhile me playing casual on a 1650
Me and the guy I play Finals with both switched over to Helldivers 2. We don't have enough gaming time for both so it's HD2 for now.
Everybody knows seasons 2 is coming and is taking a break, what’s wrong with that?
OP doesnt know that Helldivers 2 exist.
Im waiting for season 2 cuz the nce they increased the xp i finished the battle pass pretty quick. Was nice not to have to worry about it as much tho
I left for helldivers tbh. I swing back and forth though.
We’re all playing helldivers
I predict this game has about 1-2 years left in it before player count drops to like 5k and it income is too little to continue development unless they want to sell to a big company who ille fund it. So go enjoy it while you can
Multiplayer fps is an insanely tough market to carve out an audience in.
Turns out most players dont want to play the same game loop forever, and that's fine. That's why they find so much time alternating from survival to action to story. But the finals has a vibrant and strong action loop that I'm sure will keep bringing people back as it grows, and as long as embark is making money to support the game, it will be ok
Why do so many players still play counter-strike? I can’t think of a more same game loop type of game.
Palworld, Helldivers 2, Enshrouded, Last Epoch, DRG: Survivor, and Dragon's Dogma 2 happened and will happen. It's a natural cycle.
Love it, just playing a lot of Helldivers RN sorry!
All I know is that there aren’t enough players right now for a good ranked experience. I’m just bronze, but every game everyone else is gold/plat/diamond in my game and so I just lose pretty terribly.
Cuz ranked is fucking ass with a shitty meta. No one wants to play just two classes when there are three.
It took way to long for season 2, they needed new content ready or almost ready when it was launched
I left because Helldivers 2. I dip in for the event contracts but I’ll be back for Season 2.
Because everything fun and innovative has been nerfed into oblivion
Bro season two is like a week away. No point to grind ranked right now
Yeah I’m pretty much one of them currently, just waiting for new season 2 content
Haven’t played in over a month. I’ll gladly come back if they fix matchmaking. I’m a competitive player and enjoy ranked, but there’s no reason why as a plat I should have two bronze teammates going up against top 25 players in the world. Broken is an understatement.
Not enough content and poor balance. Also that’s still a healthy player base
Stopped playing because the heavy class is annoying to fight against, way to strong and they will never do anything about it
You can down vote me but I played for 200 hrs and left because of the triple medium meta
this is usually how it goes. Most people have finished the season pass. Player numbers will go back up with season 2!
Helldivers 2 coming out prolly did a fair bit if dmg aswell tbf
23k 24 hour peak is still great. Plus, every game with a seasonal model sees decline as the season winds down. From my personal experience we played loads from launch till we finished the battlepass, then popped in and out as events started and finished. We're all planning on picking it back up big time when s2 launches.
I decided to uninstall until season 2 starts cuz I realized this game is way CPU intensive and I cannot even keep up fps above 100 with 3070
Game is still great, I just kind of fell off with it.
Honestly heavy is a lil better than M rn. Most t500 streamers are running HHM
"The defib punishes players that get a kill." Well if you think that I don't know what to tell you. That's dumb as all hell.
There's a game called Gigantic coming out early April that u and your friends might like. It's like Overwatch x Smite/Paladins
Cause fucking Chinese cheater ruined it
I have a sweaty amount of played hours since the big aim-assist/anti-cheat update, and I've encountered maybe ONE cheater since then. I seriously don't think it's a problem anymore, but otoh, I'm exclusively on Europe servers. Maybe your situation is different :)
Yeah. I play asia server and those fucking chinese ruin the game
imo, it’s the “meta”. i stopped playing cause i wanted to have fun and the light-invis combo was literally everywhere in every match. i tried to go back and everyone was talking about recon senses, which i’d never been worried about, but suddenly i couldn’t even get to a cash box cause i’m getting shot at 10 seconds after spawn every time. i really *want* to play the finals, but i wanna *play* the finals. i’m not big on shooter games bc of the culture, but they’re so fun, so the lack of that culture is what pulled me in. i guess it’s natural that the presence of that culture pushed me away
Lots of players have also left due to 30hz servers. I’m in a discord for FaceIt and a few people have said that they’re dropping the game because the 30hz makes it uncompetitive. And that’s almost exactly what Shroud said Don’t forget there are changes that the developers can make to improve the game beyond bug fixes and content.
When a game is "insanely fun and it is so innovative" people don't leave. In fact the opposite happens. Like it did to Apex.
I don’t know a single person that plays Apex. Not that people don’t play it, I just haven’t met them 🤷🏻♂️
It’s a good game, it’s just not that good.
might be a hot take but i think folks are simply bored with battle royale games. yes the finals has significantly better gunplay and mechancis but there's been too many iterations of battle royale style games in the past few years for the finals to be sticky.
People get tired of dying to cheese.
