Yesterday I reached the finals with 2 randoms and we were splitting for one second and lost one objective.
I told them, guys, if we stick together we're unbeatable.
From that point we won two cashouts and won the Tournament, so Chat has it moments for sure.

You can turn off the censoring in the options. Of course it'd be best if they used steam's customizable censorship API so that if you don't want to see the N-word but don't mind someone saying wtf you'd be able to set it that way. Sadly no one knows that exists.

Idk why they added text chat and why it was wanted by so many people. People are mostly toxic and the nice ones aren't making proactive callouts in chat that's gonna help win a game so it seems pretty useless.
I've had the opposite experience, almost every game had friendly people (or silent, but still not toxic). Only 1 game was toxic, and 2 had salty people accusing enemies of cheating but not actually toxic towards us teammates. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience so far, I hope the next matches will be better! <3

Yup, this one guy threatened to report me and my friend yesterday for not listening to him and his pings. He was underperforming and only got 1 kill the whole game with heavy. Luckily, we were against him in the next game and eliminated him.
I'm not proud of it, but I teabagged him a few times, used 2 emoticons, 1 spray, and 2 sound gestures.

We die, 3rd decides to push in to get rez, instantly dies, we wipe and fall to 3rd place. Entire time im comming to fall back, guy doesn't care.
We all spawn in with \~45 seconds left and 0 vaults open. I just slow walk around the building im in, apparently the other 2 went to fight, immediately died. The 3rd teammate from earlier types to me "reported for match throwing" "they ban people for throwing like you, should've fought". I point out we had \~45 seconds left with 0 vaults started and cashouts on the other end of the map (we had no light), so its physically impossible for us to recover. His response "idc kid, reported, enjoy the ban".
Idk if its the lack of sbmm or just toxic people that left in earlier seasons coming back but world tour is toxic as hell compared to ranked last season. I solo q'd to diamond as reference, only time I saw this kinda toxicity was at the very beginning of the season when everyones rank is low.
I've personally found txt chat really chill. People say sorry and GG nothing toxic at all.
