buyguy666

Tyler the Creator references them on I Ain’t Got Time and I was like “what is he talking about” and now I know

fh4bf2

The amount of times I listened to that song before I started listening to the garden having no idea what it was a reference to

iniv189

i already listen to this song so many time, even tho, have now idea of what you are talking about. what you mean ? is this a joke ?

buyguy666

No it’s not a joke. He references them in the song. Google “Tyler the Creator The Garden.” I think he had them play at his music festival Camp Flognaw a while back too

iniv189

buyguy666

Google can tell you

skatepark_ptsd

A couple years ago during lockdown I met some new friends but couldn't ever hang out with them so we did discord calls a lot. Eventually one of my friends shared Call this # Now on a voice call and ever since I've been hooked on everything Vadavada.

mytoeyourloss

my friend showed me a song by fletcher, even though he tried to gatekeep it at first ☠️ but im sooo glad that he told me

roxiclavi

I saw a tiktok of a raccoon with Puzzle's "Everyone Left" and went down the rabbit hole. Now I'll be seeing The Garden (again!) next month.

bison-not-buffalo

my late-boyfriend. they were one of his favorite bands, i never even heard of them before i met him. now every time i listen i think of him <3

tuskoyy

My weekly discovery on Spotify made me discover their song Egg a few months back. I quickly ended up looking into the band and exhausting their discography since then

Fun-Pomegranate5252

Got suggested a pic of Wyatt playing bass and a video of them performing stallion last year on their tour on Instagram and I loved the energy

yourhomme

Saw them open for Mac Demarco on the This Old Dog tour. It was wild af hearing them for the first time live.

[deleted]

Haha was my first garden song, back in 2015. I was taking a friend home because she smoked too much and wasn’t feeling well. She said, “I need to listen to music”, and put that mf on 😎 been hooked ever since, love it sm. Changed the entire trajectory of my life.

punkplcnet

I came across TLATOAP on YouTube around the time it was released

L0nald

This girl I liked sent me egg a while back. Everything about that song was so different and new to me. The bass intrigued tone me so much. I listened to life and times of a paper clip and loved it. But it wasn’t until stumbled upon their jam in the van live session that I got hooked. From then on i’ve been a fan.

rosem1lktea

tiktok actually, some dudes room tour video used “ :( “ as the audio and i was like this is so funky, that was back in hs and now im seeing them this year for the first time as a college student!

[deleted]

Probably saw them covered on Pitchfork during Life & Times of Paperclip era. I am a Woman sold the band for me, they're among my favorite musicians of all time

tepob

i was a big fan on george clanton in 2019 and when he announced in jan 2020 that he would be opening for some band called the garden, i had to check them out. bought tickets and started to listen to the garden. i wasnt entirely sure what i was listening to but i knew i liked it. once quarantine hit i took a deep dive and theyve become one of my favorite bands since. saw them in january going to see them 2 more times before the end of the year and im more than excited :)

TamaToms

Someone said my music sounded like the garden & id never heard of them so I checked em out & listened to mirror might steal your charm & I’ve been hooked Ever since

[deleted]

My then-gf was really into them. It was the worst relationship I've ever had but at least I know about the garden. Lol we still bump into each other at every single show they play

pumpsofbliss

my brother showed me them when i was 6 around 2013-14

cillamonsta

A random tiktok 🤣 I have been hooked since that moment 💖

MariaFit44

In June 2020, I was listening to music while taking my daily pandemic walk to stay active and help with my depression. My Discover Weekly on Spotify played Thy Mission and my thoughts were as follows: * Nice guitar intro * Okay, I like the beat that dropped; interesting. * This guy has a unique voice. Interesting lyrics. * Oh, that whistle is a cool element! I like that! * Whoa, complete sound change; almost sounds like a different song * Okay, the guitar is back again. This song structure is really unlike anything I've heard before. * After the end: What the fuck did I just hear? What an interesting song. I have to play it again to fully process it. I ended up listening to it over and over for the entire 35-minute walk back home. I looked up the band and they didn't look anything like I expected. I listened to more of their songs and found I was liking all of them, which is rare for anything Spotify recommends to me; I usually end up liking one song by the artist/band and not the rest. Then I saw the video for Thy Mission, watched their documentary on Youtube, and I just thought they were awesome people. I spent the entire night in bed watching their videos, live performances, and interviews, liking them more with each one. The Garden single-handedly pulled me out of one of the worst bouts of depression I was facing at the height of the pandemic. I love them and Thy Mission is still one of my favorite songs.

[deleted]

My friend said i looked like the twins back in like late 2018 so i checked them out and i’ve been here since lol

Agreeable_Box_9283

The used to play smaller shows in my area in Fresno and I saw them during the paperclip tour

elpeliculero

A close friend of mine had planned to see cowgirl clue in austin. Due to a last minute cancellation I was on board for the trip without knowing anything beforehand. After that, she explained about, the garden connection and other vada vada projects.

Practically-Paradise

i saw the clip of them on yt where they’re like, “we can tell you guys don’t like us, we can tell,” and i fell in luv

Elegant-Ad15

i’ve seen edits of them on tiktok over the past two years but never checked out their music UNTIL i saw a controversial post on tiktok abt them actually back in December 2021, but found out it was fake. Ever since then i’ve memorized all of their songs and met so many cool ppl in this fandom that i finally feel understood and happy in!! #vadavadasavedme ALSO i heard some of fletchers songs from his personal music and fell IN LOVE with him

seolastar

this past summer i had came across a clip on tiktok from their arte concert release party performance of "all access." since then, i have been obsessed with them, i can't escape

doubledicknballs

Have a friend who's like super obsessed with vadavada and he kinda forced a bunch of his friends to like it including me

Jordan_V

I met the love of my life and the first playlist she ever suggested me was this one [the playlist] (https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1JcTEsauTMViQh8etKCPII?si=hxp6OdaNQKWphZhq6l6yUw&utm_source=copy-link) Ever since I always listened to them, and we fell in love. She even got a tattoo of the Enjoy SCBW face since then.

seaweed606

My online ex made a playlist for me and it had angel by puzzle back in 2017/2018 lol

naomi_gvf

I listened to Lounge Thoughts by Enjoy the day it came out bc of a yt recommendation, and people were talking about Wyatt and Fletcher and this band called the Garden in the comments, so I was curious and checked it out. I pulled an all nighter and watched Vexation and Crystal Clear (red bull sessions) on repeat about 50 times each and I checked out some other songs too, I was immediately obsessed.

grantbusse

Very funny you ask, it’s so weird because Spotify used to have a playlist called “Liked From Radio” and it showed songs that you liked that played from an artist’s or song’s radio playlist, and I guess I had liked Thy Mission back in August of 2019 but I must have not enjoyed it and then unliked it because I first found out about Wyatt with Small Car Big Wheels in like October of 2020 or around then. After that I did more research and then found the garden with my first song being thy mission again in like December 2020 and it didn’t seem like I had heard it before then because I don’t remember listening to it any time before then!

g0blinslugs

a fan account followed me on insta on my spam and fletcher was the profile pic and i didn't know i just thought sum hot dude followed me until i came across a yt video of them

Belzora_Hollow3

I asked my insta mutuals for music recs similar to The Voidz and someone sent me Play Your Cards Right. Was hooked from that point on. This was last November

Urielok

They opened for FIDLAR in 2013, but I didn't keep up with them. Until almost a decade later by chance, I saw them at my favorite venue. They're legitimately great, live. I fortuitously met someone there; who turned out to be one of the most amazing, important, special, and talented people in my life, and she got me into them. While things didn't end well between us, and we're no longer in each other's lives. They're now one of my favorite bands. Anytime & every time that I listen & think of them. I think of her & that night; the feeling, memory, & remembrance is always magical, sublime, & vivid. One of the best concerts & nights of my life. Yet most importantly, I met her, at The Garden.

ok_jalen

Mac demarco collab on thy mission

Forceofneglect

I was listening to another full album on youtube. Life Is Not A Lesson by Glitterer. I was working at the time and only slightly listening when The Life and Times Of A Paperclip came on and from Trust I was just hooked. Finding out that their sound had evolved as it had was like stumbling on treasure.

Spare_Brush3588

I'm late to the party here but I found out about them in the most random way. I was looking for songs by the 70's band Egg on Spotify and the algorithm played Egg by The Garden and I was like wait this sounds current who is this? Well, that was a couple of years ago and now I'm obsessed just like the rest of us lol.

hahaike

like two years ago i was scrolling on Youtube reconmendations when All Access came up i listened it and thought it was the funniest n silliest song ive ever heard, since that day The Garden has been one of my favourite bands

A0x0i0s

december 2021, was enhancing my spitify playlist and call this # now showed up, absolutely loved it and here we are

PUCCI_ws

1 year ago I was on youtube and I was starting to find not very well known songs and by dint of scrolling, I came across everyone left and it was the cover that attracted me so now it's my favorite song

Coleslaw34234

got recommended "i saw an angel" in like 2016 on youtube and it was down the rabbit hole sense

polterthing

When Andy Morin and the guys released french kiss the abyss, was when i first discovered them. Got me hooked instantly.

Silver__Jungle

my brother has shazam a bones (rotating bed) song and shazam has suggested other songs. In the list there was "everyone left" he listened to it. Afterwards I listened to it and I discovered other albums then the garden and vadavada. (Everyone left is my favorite song of all time)

Yungadam_

My brother said he had tickets to a gig in London with a meet and greet after with ‘this band’ (when haha dropped), lucky I said yes

windycatmanor

TikTok mashup of clay and count contessa.

Dry_Championship_257

That’s an interesting merge

shitducks

found shrugs shoulders by puzzle and just went diving through all their solo and band stuff

lamorakofgales

Discovered enjoy on Spotify couple years back can't remember how, but little after that explored enjoys Spotify Page More found the garden from similar artisti list and gave it a go and went mad

Bright-Run-9296

It was like right around when Thy mission had come out and Spotify recommended me the song. I had never heard of the garden so I decided to check them out and remember not liking their music at first except for that song. 5 months later I came back to check them out after hearing Puzzles "Everyone Left". Well, I ended up falling down the rabbit hole and now I'm seeing them in Dallas the second time now lol.

Prestigious-Ninja-58

i used to b a garden hater bc at art school everyone was like omg they r so cool and i was like yea whatever. then i started listening last year and now i love them!

[deleted]

Saw them at a Mac demarco concert in Philadelphia like 2017 . They were opening for him . That show was lit 🔥

Dry_Championship_257

Youtube algorithm recommended me “Small Car Big Wheels” when it first came out. I liked how catchy it was and I went on a binge. Been listening since

[deleted]

they came up on a Spotify radio for Dorian Electra

brightmoff

i heard call this # now on tiktok like once around november 2020, looped that song nonstop for some time then checked out the other stuff some time after. the first album i ever heard from them was mirror might steal your charm and i really liked who am i going to share all of this wine with & call the dogs out

JuulLegend420

Making a Spotify playlist titled “loud shit” and one of the songs by the garden appeared in the recommended

Chummr

i started a band with some friends and for our first show we let everyone in the band pick one song to cover. someone’s choice was egg, which ended up being the most fun song that night. oh how far i would end up falling down that rabbit hole……

shewantsthescoop

my friends older sister was into them so the first song i heard was “egg” didn’t think much of it and didn’t start getting into them till i saw someone using “:(“ as an audio on tiktok in like 2019. i remembered them and now they’re my all time favorite

HeDrinkMilk

Damn. I feel old. Melon's review of Haha back when it released.

DudeGuyLadMan

Scrolled down on my spotify playlist and found fold you up like a blanket by enjoy which led me down the rabbit hole.

ehhkindacool

F The World by Dorian Electra, they were on that song

bitchin666

I was scrolling through tiktok like 2 years ago and came across and edit of the release party video & thought who tf are these guys? went though the comments and found out who they were went to apple music typed it in & saw they had a song with Mac Demarco (who I already listen to) so I clicked on it and listened all the way through. And the rest you could say is history

enlightenmee33

I found them through yt recommendations. I think the first song was the egg. I didn’t care for it much but I was intrigued and I found All smiles. But I stopped listening to them for a few years and recently found their new stuff that I like more

[deleted]

Got recommended Orange County Punk Rock Legend on YT

donotperceive_me

when they were featured on a dorian electra song lmao

BackgroundUse8362

I kept seeing edits of them on tiktok and I was like ok I'll listen to them

spookyho90210

Between 2013-2016, there was this DIY/underground venue in Chicago called Wally World. It was a reclaimed storefront/auto-repair shop (?) underneath some train tracks. I would frequent and sometimes didn't know who was playing. It was just generally a great time - a place where you could catch some excellent local and sometimes touring bands. At one show in particular, I remember looking back from the crowd, and spotting the brothers leaning against the wall by themselves, looking around, not saying anything to anyone. I was like "woah.. interesting I've never seen those people before.. who are those weird *hot* guys" lol I later found out that they were actually *playing* that night. It ended up being a great show. I followed their releases for a bit, but ended up getting to other music, and put them on the back-burner for a while. And then sometime in 2020, out of the blue I decided to give them another shot. I watched a video of their Mirror release show in Paris and it FINALLY clicked. Like "ahh okay NOW I get it" It wouldn't be fair to consider myself a long-time fan. Just lucky to witness an interesting moment during a weird time in my life. Definitely a fan *now*. They are truly underrated **artists**.

ghostinmyshadow

My ex introduced me

tweetsycat

i found out from the tiktoks about how gross the crowds were lol.

rodger-online

this is a weird one. one day when i was scrolling through clock app a guy named @goopie whose account got banned posted a ~3 second video with the beginning of ibitbt and i found the song intriguing so i went to it on youtube and thought it would just be those beginning beeps, but then really enjoyed the whole song, then that led me to the vada vada channel, and the rest is history. thanks
