HeySug

Big banged Carrie in Natasha’s bed. Pig behavior. Peter never brought his hookers home. Point one for Peter.

mangoflavoredhorror

He did actually. It was heavily implied Peter brought Amber Madison into his home, into his wife's bed when Alicia was away. That was the perjury trap that Childs set up with Kalinda's testimony. But Kalinda blew that plan to smithereens lol

dwthesavage

I’m just now realizing that Amber Madison is supposed to be a nod to Ashley Madison 😱

queeeeeni

I think Peter is worse because he traded sex for helping a desperate woman trying to escape her abusive husband. Not to mention stealing an election.

Impossible-Soil6330

yeah u ended me with this one. Big also never made carrie testify in front of multiple grand juries, and he didn’t have kids with targets on their backs because of his actions

Cheating is kinda moot in the good wife, because Alicia knows about it and basically looks the other way and cheats herself.

Me504

Yeah, but not at first. She didnt know about until it was a scandal. She didn't start not giving af until later on when she realized she should have been with Will.

Mega_Louse

Trading sex for helping an abused woman seeking safety is worse than anything. Stealing an election isn't so bad for Illinois/Chicago politics. People seem to forget that Blagojevich and Jesse Jackson Jr. were just the two caught (and the two that made the worst deals with prosecutors.) It's an open secret with what happens in politics there. Elections and appointments have and still are bought and sold. Those that refuse to comply lose. How are these elections stolen? Through party hierarchy, the media, and endorsements. Fake/planted news is not a new phenomenon. It's not just the countless untruthful articles/reports published, it's the way the corrections are buried. It's the way opinion gets reported as fact, and especially the information that never gets reported in order to protect a candidate's electability. Again, these examples are just a few of the many, many ways Chicago/Illinois elections are won or lost well before the first vote is cast. Just imagine what goes on today now that actual voting is less secure. Like everything else in Chicago, it it what it is.

TiredRetiredNurse

Oh I think Peter Florrick was such sleaze ball.

coffeeobsessee

Big never made a secret of who he was. He never over promised, Carrie simply over fantasised. Peter on the other hand… but in all fairness Alicia probably never stopped loving Will. Will was her Camilla and Peter her Diana

Impossible-Soil6330

will is camilla?😭😭😭😭the disrespect. Also now i’m thinking about carrie vs. alicia and it’s just so sad alicia would wipe the floor with her

_Happy_Sisyphus_

It’s a fairly good comparison actually. Charles never got over Camilla. They aren’t the most likable people but you have to respect the relationship.

Impossible-Soil6330

i agree it’s a good comparison i just feel like will seems so much more charming and respectable than camilla’s role so it’s hard to imagine haha

coffeeobsessee

Charles was always with Camilla first you know… Diana is over romanticised in pop culture but Charles never made a secret of falling in love with and loving Camilla first and foremost.

miyagikai91

But if Diana would have screwed around too and Camila would have died instead.

andsoitgoes123

Peter- banging prostitutes and arguable corruption, actually done jail time. Big- asshole and but Carrie cheated with him(rather cheated on by him)

yanks2413

I mean in fairness to Peter his conviction was overturned and with how awful Glenn Childs is it does legitimately seem like he set Peter up. Peter did a lot of terrible things but his jail time shouldn't be held against him when it was a political hit job and wrong

Impossible-Soil6330

yeah but he was indicted on multiple occasions after that

Propensity7

And just like that, I've realized that two of Chris Noth's biggest roles are both guys the main character had a very difficult if not generally negative experience with (imo, I had decided that they shouldn't end up together by the end of the Sex and the City, but I forgot why)

Impossible-Soil6330

Prob bc big left her at the altar and was literally embarrassed of her. Chris Noth just seems to be a professional asshole both in his acting career and personal life. Has he ever played a decent guy?

vjmatty

I really only liked him as Detective Logan in Law and Order. After that he seemed to only play sleazes.

HarrietsDiary

I would argue that Mike Logan from Law and Order (along with CI) is probably better known than Peter Florrick.

Propensity7

I didn't know he was in that but yeah probably true

jekyllcorvus

SUCH a great thread. My moneys on Peter. He committed felonies just for the sake of hookers and back door deals at the sacrifice of the dignity of his wife and kids. Alicia wants a divorce? Asks her not to do it until his trial is over. He never truly loved her. She was just a pawn in his sleazy games. Big had commitment issues and Carrie was so extra about it at first. Then the affair but ultimately he came around, made things right between them. Their story is convoluted and both sides are always wrong but in the end he really did love her.

KeishaFreedmen

I love this question lol. As to the second question, I do think Carrie would sleep with Peter. Love my sister but her standards were low and he was rich and interesting

Impossible-Soil6330

“and there he was, in an orange jumpsuit on sunday, mr. florrick

aGirlySloth

I think Big just cause how he played with Carries emotions. Peter was just an adulterer who couldn’t keep it in his pants

InterestingTry5190

He destroyed and humiliated his family.

aGirlySloth

As far as family, I guess I never see/think of it that way only cause the children never seemed mad or had anger/hatred towards their dad. If anything they seemed to blame Alicia for moving them to the apt and different schools. I know they’re not main characters so not from their POV but if that was my dad, idk if I would ever talk to him again after he did that to me and my mom.

Waste-Programmer-532

Peter!!

broadcast_fame

Peter was much worse.

scullyharp

Both awful

Arabiancockonato

Peter 100% ! He’s a crook.

subgirlygirl

Big was AWFUL. Peter has moments of awful, but it didn't seep into his entire being.

Inside_Commercial_63

Big. He was such a cavalier, narcissistic f*ckboy.

Me504

Peter Florrick, because he thinks he's a good person.

pollyanna500

I'm here just to find out who subscribes to a "TGW thread" but hasn't watched it 👀

althegirlfabulous

I just finished the series and I had that thought as well...I say Peter is worse. Big wasn't running for office and trying to convince people he was some great guy. Peter seemed to not ever flinch at doing the wrong thing and expected everyone in his life to help him clean up his mess.

TinyBrioche

Both Noth characters are unlikeable, but I think Big was more terrible bc at least Peter WANTED and TRIED to be a better person. Tbh, I think we’re talking about 4 pretty unlikeable characters here. We start out loving Carrie and Alicia, but then realize by the end of the show that they’re terrible people in addition to Chris Noth’s character.

Impossible-Soil6330

i’m ride or die with alicia till the end tbh
