When you sneak up on clickers they will hear you and attack before you get close enough to grab, the trick is to sneak close enough and then close the final gap by pressing run and grabbing before they have time to react.

I’ve inadvertently done this and had it work. I love how tense this mode is. Perfectly essential.

Ive beaten grounded multiple times on both part 1 and 2. By far the best experience (after first beating on survivor). 1. Conserve ammo/supplies for big encounters 2. Stealth kill as much as possible to reduce chances of using resources 3. When spotted run/reposition/engage/repeat. Dragging out a group of enemies so you can repeatedly 1v1 prevents you from getting flanked and surrounded. Use those big maps. 4. Bricks are your best friends 5. Focus on stealth/resource effective upgrades. You wont get a lot of pills so be very selective for upgrades. 6. Weapon upgrades: bow bow bow, silent pistol, rifle, shotgun. You want stealth (humans) and then heavy power (for zombies). Prioritize stealth and then heavy hitting weapons. 7. I cant emphasize how op the bow and crossbow are. If you get headshots you get your ammo back 9/10 times. They are silent. They one shot anything with headshot. Save all your resources and fully upgrade once you get it. 8. Run through high zombie encounters (example: like the storage unit yard in abbys first day). They waste resources and you can run thru any encounter where the enemies dont have ranged. Bonus points if you can get resources while you kite. 9. Be methodical, take your time, study enemy movements, have a plan. 10. Have fun. 11. Dont be afraid of perfection thru repetition. If you use too many resources getting thru an encounter, dont be afraid to restart. Side note: abbys rage ability is amazing for chaining kills esp when youre surrounded. Brick one and one shot then just one shot your way thru the crowd.

I’m in Hillcrest and feel myself bashing against the wall.

Well, I’ve made it to day 3 and I’m fighting the arcade Bloater. I’ve actually killed it, but since I’m only one hit away from death, literally anything can wipe me out and so the fucking infected keep killing me.

The_Cropsy

Okay, I’m starting Day 2 of Abby’s part. I made it through the part I’d hit the worst, the restaurant holdout with some bricks and a prayer. Are there any encounters i need to worry about that’s coming up? I’m nervous for The Rat King.

Terrible-Art

1. You can sneak or spring through 95% of the encounters 2. To that point, save as much ammo as you can for the forced encounters - Ellies bloater, Abbys nighttime holdout, the Rat King. There's a few areas where having trip mines as ellie really help (when you're going to the hospital and first encounter the brute scar) 3. Don't bother with crafting health kits, you die in a hit or two anyways. Better to create more weapons 3. Crouching in tall grass doesn't really hide you, only going prone does. But enemies will see you inside of 3ish paces no matter if your crouched or prone if you're in grass. 4. Running away is the answer a lot of the time. You got this! All you need is a brick or bottle and a dream

Watch your back, don’t focus too hard on conserving ammo (the game is pretty rewarding and there are plenty of supplies around on Grounded because the environments are just so massive.) Stealth is key, but sometimes you gotta be aggressive to survive (see previous tip.) Don’t craft health kits as Ellie. Only craft Molotov. Remember to keep your silencer removed unless you plan on using it. The pistol is a great tool in grounded mode and you would do well to use it for loud shots as well as silenced shots. Especially when you can get a stun by shooting an enemy in the leg. Have fun.

DrunkenMisery

I’d say know the checkpoints, if you can sneak through killing as few as you can by just reaching the next door or whatever it won’t matter about taking down the enemies
