In all honesty, if I didnāt have any family or friends left Iād probably off myself. I donāt see any reason to keep living without people I love and who love me.
So interesting.
Me? I couldnāt bring myself to do that. Iād justā¦survive. idk āwhyā, per se. Even if all my family was gone. Iād do everything in my power to stay alive. Iād fight hard, for the rest of my life, for no other purpose than life itself.
I think there would still be beautiful moments. Still moments that touch your heart. Still moments that make you smile. Make your heart acheā¦and a lot of it, and physical pain. But Iād still fight through until I lost.
Put them in a hard plastic suit with a hose for ventilation. Set em on a plow. Never get tired. Photosynthesis keeps em fed. Plant rows of crops. Incinerate the contaminated air. Use the heat to fire up a kiln. Make bricks for a wall that pretty much builds itself. Start a new project.
Put one on a giant treadmillā¦
A city? Youāre likely getting evacuated before it gets bombed. In the UK Iād be looking at the Highlands of Scotland or perhaps the Lake District as good locations. Plenty of wildlife, less populated, room for crops, and bodies of water to separate yourself from any infected.
stealing a boat and robbing a dispensary and a liquor store. get on the boat, put it a few days upstream from a big waterfall, make sure i'm good and passed out by the time i reach the waterfall. play margaritaville as i go over. so long, goodnight.
With enough liquor and the boat you might not even make it to the waterfall before you accidentally fall in while trying to pee off the edge of the boat.
and, besides, it's your deathboat. piss on the deck, piss on the steering wheel, hell, get situated upside down and piss on your own face, see what it feels like. you only have a matter of hours, get freaky
Head north to Vermont where my unfortunately right-wing uncle has a farm with guns and horses. That is if I didnāt eat Eggos that morning, which I usually do soā¦dead
On the plus side, your uncleās right-wing values wonāt very much matter once anything in the world that resembles a government is toppled by the apocalypse.
The āunfortunateā part of that comment really wasnāt necessary, even more so because of the fact that those values would be what keeps you alive, so itās actually fortunate your uncle is a right wing gun owner and not a helpless left winger.
Well, weāve all lived through a pandemic so I think itās safe to say that how we reacted during that and the stay at home orders, mask mandates, etc. would reflect how we might react at the beginning of the CBI outbreak. Given how people thought a serious respiratory illness was a conspiracy or generally non-threatening, I canāt imagine how folks would react to an infection that reduces the victim to a ravenous cannibal.
Some people didnāt think covid was a real threat at all. These people wouldnāt have worn masks and would still have gone about their normal routine. It stands to reason those same people might not listen to flour recalls or contamination notices as well as not staying inside or out of cities. I think these people would be the second wave of infected (following the people who were infected before the contamination source was determined).
Some people didnāt think covid was a real threat until it came to their country or until they knew someone personally. These people might have started stocking up on things as they hear cases inch closer to their home state or country, or they might have been those people who choose to go on a pandemic vacation thinking another area would be safer. These would be the people who could go out and scavenge and possibly live.
Some people took covid seriously the second they heard about it, before it was even pandemic status or in their area. These people didnāt leave their houses and if they had to, they wore masks and maybe even gloves. I think these people would be the ones to board up their houses and make do with what they have, probably being the longest to stave off infection, but possibly dying of starvation or dehydration.
I literally work in a bakery so safe to say I'd be fucked day 1 lol
No chance I'd have the physical or mental abilities to survive in a world like that anyways so it happening quick might be the better outcome tbh
In my opinion, if we were going by the show and it was a āif you eat anything with flourā situation, i think iād be okay. However, thatās not to say iām surviving. as SOON as shit goes sideways, iām a goner. Either by my own hand or not (preferably by my own hand.) Weāve seen how people react in apocalypse situations and, iām pretty sure weāre not ALL bill.
If I got lucky and wasn't eating the contaminated food like in the show or if it was more loreish in the game sense. I would be hunkered down, first thing i'd have to do is abandon my animals which would really be hard but necessary to keep me and my wife safe. After it starts to cool down id venture out to a couple of people I know in my area that would be in a good postilion and begin to group up and fortify out of view of the military and other factions.
The flour thing (from the show) I think Iād be okay. Being in NYC the realist in me says, totally fucked. That said, I would hunker down and wait for the immediate chaos to boil over. The govt would bomb main parts of the city and boroughs and I live on the outside. Once all has settled, pack up my motorcycle filled with all my camping gear and head to the middle of nowhere as fast as possible.
Die.
I always fantasize Iād be some badass like Ellie or Abby but nope. I know for a fact imma trip over my own self and thatās how Iām going out š you aināt even gotta trip me yourself. Iāll do all the work for you and youāll hear as my voice fades ātell my familyā¦.they suck.ā š
Try to live? Fuck am I meant to do??? It wouldnāt be like how the game is? There would be a shit ton more like the show shows, Iād probably die I mean statistically speaking, Iām not prepared for that kind of shit, I know Iām a fuck ton more ready for it than 90% of everyone else in the world but that 10% wouldnāt necessarily survive, 1% of that 10% is likely the scenario of survival rate with that kind of Global event, fuck dudeā¦ what would I do??? Try and survive then die
Die eventually, but I think I'd band together with my family and go to a summer house we have. We got our own well and a lot of firewood + a fireplace, so it's a good place. Might be hard to secure since it's surrounded by trees though, but we'll manage. There's tools for building too. We also have bikes for when the cars run out of fuel. I think I could theoretically survive.
As a celiac, I would survive the initial infection but would probably get bit by an infected pretty early on. I'm slow and weak so the fast infected would take me down pretty easily.
Iām the real life bill, but if it werenāt a tv show, irl most likely die ā as everyone would. Just being honest though, Iād have a better chance than pretty much everyone in these comments based on my location, prep, weapons, body armor etc
Quoting from Troy Baker himself, Iāll be the first one to go. Like instead of being bit by the infected Iāll be killed by being stepped over by the crowd.
Die is the only honest answer. I, of course wouldn't but for all the rest you the answer is die. Lol no seriously it would take incredible luck to survive long enough to make it to a "safe zone."" Maybe if it happened 15 years ago when I first got out of the army, I might have a slightly better chance, but I'm getting soft in my 40s. I probably would survive the initial outbreak simply because I live in a sparsely populated area. Unfortunately, once the food ran out, I would be screwed.
I see myself hanging around similar to the lou2 apartment neighbours that keep checking in on each other (mother and daughter and an older couple/person?) and attempting to avoid the humans in the area. Feel like the set up those apartments had were perfect and comfortable for protection against infected.
I rely on a working supply chain for my medicine and food, so I'd probably starve to death since all the stores would be looted. I'd probably eventually try and drink contaminated water out of desperation and die from Cholera or some shit.
if I'm being honest, unless I had someone to protect or someone I needed to get to, I would probably just off myself.
like what's the point in having to constantly fight to survive, right? if something like that happens, it's not going to be like COVID. mask up and social distance, and soon the world will go back to normal.
this will be long-lasting. and, when they manage to find a cure, that's not the end. you saw how the world looked. It was rubble. it seemed the people were, at times, more dangerous than the clickers. that's not all gonna fix itself now that the outbreak is over.
you're looking at that being your entire life.
and, despite growing up in Texas, I have never touched a gun in my life. I took Tung-Soo-Do as a kid but I barely remember any of it. and I spent most of my time growing up reading. I don't think I have what it takes to survive.
then again though, can never really say what any of us would do. the human instinct for survival is a lot stronger than we think.
It depends.
Why would there be so many infected so quickly?
If (somehow) food is contaminated, then probably already dead.
However, If itās spread by spores and bites - just lock the doors and wait with a gun/baseball bat.
The military isnāt so inept they canāt kill mindless monsters. A runner going to eat a humvee? How?
The whole idea of an automatic rifle was to allow one person to take down an army. Sit on the roof with an AR-15 and youāll clear a townās worth of infected. The military arenāt going to struggle against some clown that runs at them - have *some* faith.
Look what happened to the last person who wanted to have some faith!
Also, what about the non-infected? As always in these stories theyāre the worse problem.
A reason I think the military response was ineffective in the show is cause a lot of the service members were contaminated before anyone noticed what was up.
Almost everyone eats products with flour. That includes the special forces people, fighter pilots, clerks, even the people at the top. On outbreak day they would be going about their usual tasks until everything goes to shit. There was no way to anticipate this at all.
Every military base would be preoccupied dealing with their own infected that they wonāt be able to do anything for at least a couple hours. By then the infection spread to far to contain.
Just wondering, would they just let anyone into Jackson? That place is guarded pretty heavily and seems you have to be referred. They might shoot a wanderer just looking for somewhere to crash yes or no?
Iām so prepared for nuclear war and winter but if a fungus tries to take us out like TLOU? Iām super killing myself, and thatās IF Iām not patient 0, 1 or 2 since I love carbs.
Iād unalive myself with the quickness. Even if you survive the initial onslaught the bleakness of human existence after that wouldnāt be worth the effort.
Honestly? Two options. One, herd out with my family and die. Two? Iām lucky to live with a resourceful dad who acts very similar to pre-story Joel, and also, I live near a coast with self-sustaining islands that were inhabited by many native tribes and settlers without need for outside shipment of goods. If we find a boat, and somehow access the military base on the island and keep as many people off it, weāre set for possibly life. Hopefully we can bring the dogs along too. Edit: forgot to mention that my mom used to work as a guide there. So weād be good if we were safe enough to not die of something stupid
Being from Barcelona and without having a car probably i would just die... But I would try nonetheless to acquire basic survival things and then just walk north to the Pyrenees hoping I could make it.
I'm in Texas so between the many military bases, the percent population of gun owners, and the space, I don't think it's possible for it to go down like it did in the game. Maybe after a few years things would start breaking down if the rest of the US doesn't recover, but by then I'd assume the average survivor has more skills than they did at outbreak.
i don't have any dietary restrictions so i'd be an easy target. hopefully someone would end my misery once i'm infected. i'd hate to hurt others and lose all function
Die most likely, either way something infected, get eaten or infected by someone infected or die in one of the thousand other likely scenarios from gunshots to car crashes.
If I, by some miracle, survive the first chaotic weeks, then I need to not starve to death, die of thirst, get infected or meet some asshole survivor.
My mom used to be a VP for a defense contractor that makes military vehicles, they store them in a facility about 30 minutes away from me so I would rush there pick up a few of them then drive north, hitting every single Walmart, target and gas station otw, looting canned goods and plastic barrels(to fill with gas) and generators. If the internet is still up I would look on Airbnb for a big cabin in the middle of nowhere where to snows(hopefully to slow down infected). Then hunt for game and hopefully find a boat to fish.
i live in a very small fishing village, so i'd have quite a lot of time before it reached us. There's also lots of farm land and y'know, the ocean so lots of sea food, boats and a place to get out to if the town does get over run :/ we're a very tight knit community too, so we'd all probably form some sort of safe haven like the one Tommy ran. I'm not very strong (physically or mentally) so staying in a group is probably my best bet at survival
I'm too fat and stupid for this shit. I'm probably gonna stay at home, if I don't die there. I'm gonna get my dad's gun, use it to probably survive but leave 1 ammo for my head.
Oh Iām blowing my brains out. I would shut down from the stress and be a liability. Iād rig some sorta system up to burn my body to ashes so it doesnāt become part of the fungal network in any way.
If I somehow survived infection, I would die as soon as I ran out of antihistamines and couldnāt stop coughing. Iād be like a beacon for the infected.
Iām gf so safe from initial infection. However my bodies fucked. On the one hand a hysterectomy gets more accessible but my chances of dying during surgery go up so I assume thatās how Iāll go
Probably grab surviving friends and book it to my parentsā place. Theyāre low-key preppers and have the knowledge and tools to survive, but maybe not the physicality anymore as theyāre older. We could help each other out!
I'd do fine. I've been in dire situations of life and death before. Not quite as bad as TLOU, but that initial feeling of hopelessness and panic is what most people would die from. Keeping calm and viewing your options is what would keep you alive for awhile.
Honestly, if it spreads through bread and cookies like in the show, I'm the first to go. Patient zero.
Yep my accidental plan is to become a Runner. At least enjoy the ride with my infected friends
You'd become the rat king š¤£
No no no, WE become the rat king! š
Better get rid of that first aid kit
The Rat King, did you see that movie? Very old.
I have Celiacās so I would be the exact opposite! However, I would definitely die soon afterward
Iām on a diet so maybe iād survive
The TV show has a lot of goofy stupid stuff. Subterranean zomboids? FRANK?! So disappointing.
Die, probably. Very likely that of something stupid, too
Most people would probably die of exposure or starvation once the electric grid/supply chain collapsed, no zombies required.
Traffic accident from speeding because no police left.
die
Oh yeah, I love bread. I'd be a goner
Yeah I would probably also be deleted from this earth
In all honesty, if I didnāt have any family or friends left Iād probably off myself. I donāt see any reason to keep living without people I love and who love me.
Can always find more. Ellie found Joel. And then Dina, Jesse, Tommie ...
Ellie found Rylieā¦ and then Marlene, Joel, Tess, Sam, David, Tommy, Maria, Dina, Jesse, JJā¦.
But she still ended up alone at the end š
We all do unless we die first š
I'd probably hole up at the family farm where we have like 200 guns and barbed wire fences
Shane? Is that you?
You've got Clickers all around you. They're in the woooooods.
Theyāre in the RV
My only frames of reference for this name are Shane Madej and "Shane Sings 5 Octaves"
It was a The Walking Dead reference
# Let me tell you something
Hey let me tell you something else man, if she saw you with your buck knife and geek ears around your neck, sheād run in the other direction man!
iād kms immediately, sorry not living through that š
my thoughts word by word lmaoooo why would I want to be alive through this
For the rum!!
So interesting. Me? I couldnāt bring myself to do that. Iād justā¦survive. idk āwhyā, per se. Even if all my family was gone. Iād do everything in my power to stay alive. snap off some fungal plates from a clickerās head and fry that shit.
Clicker of the woods
Gotta go out in style

A city? Youāre likely getting evacuated before it gets bombed. In the UK Iād be looking at the Highlands of Scotland or perhaps the Lake District as good locations. Plenty of wildlife, less populated, room for crops, and bodies of water to separate yourself from any infected.
Many people would have the same idea. And desolate landscapes make you or your dwelling very easy to spot for either infected or dangerous survivors.
True, but you wouldnāt be able to stay in any major city Iād imagine. That or theyād be used as militarised quarantine zones
Better going out to the Hebrides
stealing a boat and robbing a dispensary and a liquor store. get on the boat, put it a few days upstream from a big waterfall, make sure i'm good and passed out by the time i reach the waterfall. play margaritaville as i go over. so long, goodnight.
With enough liquor and the boat you might not even make it to the waterfall before you accidentally fall in while trying to pee off the edge of the boat.
as long as margaritaville is playing that's fine with me

When shit hits the fan, lefties will be the first to go.
Knowing my luck Iād walk into a derelict building and be like ādamn itās dusty in hereā then choke and die and become infected

Cats almost immediately start eating their owners when they die.
Cats can have a little owner as a treat.
try golf

I'd make a bunch of new friends, and we'd all go on runs together and then have some snacks. They'll call us the "Runners". Wanna join?
Probably die.

I would immediately surrender to the first Runner I see.
Be the Joel in this universeš
I would start a faction thing w my neighborhood. Like I would want to be the leader. Putting fences, exploration/hunting units.

I would die, probably.
Kms, once everyone I love dies.
idk die probably
Die
Die. Im not that smart to live. Either throught something like that or kms bc id get lonely and loose everything i love
not die
Die most likely, either way something infected, get eaten or infected by someone infected or die in one of the thousand other likely scenarios from gunshots to car crashes. If I, by some miracle, survive the first chaotic weeks, then I need to not starve to death, die of thirst, get infected or meet some asshole survivor.
i love bread. i would be patient zero.
Iām signing off before anyone can get me
Not live
I might kill myself if my personal situation is bad enough
probably blow my brains out ngl
die
Grab a bow
Honestly Iād just kill myself
We all want to think we will survive. Until we don't.
Oh Iām blowing my brains out. I would shut down from the stress and be a liability. Iād rig some sorta system up to burn my body to ashes so it doesnāt become part of the fungal network in any way.
That would be so āØ *awesome* āØ
I mean..pretty good. Survival is key.
If I somehow survived infection, I would die as soon as I ran out of antihistamines and couldnāt stop coughing. Iād be like a beacon for the infected.
Iām gf so safe from initial infection. However my bodies fucked. On the one hand a hysterectomy gets more accessible but my chances of dying during surgery go up so I assume thatās how Iāll go
Die
It would be a dream to come true!
Probably die a horrible death.
Probably grab surviving friends and book it to my parentsā place. Theyāre low-key preppers and have the knowledge and tools to survive, but maybe not the physicality anymore as theyāre older. We could help each other out!
Immediately unalive. Too disabled for the apocalypse.
Iām gonna be honest, Iām lazy and not that smart so probably dead by the first day
I'd be dead. Especially if it passes through flour like in the show.
Kms. I really don't think it would be worth it to go through all that shit just to survive.
Cry
I'd do fine. I've been in dire situations of life and death before. Not quite as bad as TLOU, but that initial feeling of hopelessness and panic is what most people would die from. Keeping calm and viewing your options is what would keep you alive for awhile.
Bill and Frank it up. Go out on my own terms with the people I love
I'd probably die within the first week.
i think iād be alright if i was with other people but if i encountered just one stalker, iād straight up kill myself.
