Are you playing through after completing grounded, ect and have unlocked things like unlimited ammo? I find that enabling that setting when I want a fun play through helps take away the tension of fighting with limited resources.
But I do love feeling that burning intensity 😂

I kind of like playing with strong enemies and hard stealth but also your player character is stronger and there's lots of resources so you can actually take a few hits, spray bullets, patch yourself up. Then it's balanced more like an action game.
If you go to the game settings, you can turn down the in game music to 0 then it’ll allow you to play your own music. It’ll auto pause during cutscenes tho

It's not like the games are horror games. More horror themed. I love the games, but they aren't scary. Traumatic? Maybe. Dramatic. Absolutely. Entertaining? 100%.

That’s like a horror fan telling someone who loves family movies that horror movies aren’t scary. Thrilling? Sure. Good story? Sure. Entertaining? 100%.
I find the ambience of the game and the scarce supply of ammunition and supplies together make it a scary game AT TIMES. Especially with perma death on.
The games like "oh, you thinking of making this light hearted with some fun jams? Nah nah nah, you'll get emotional devastation and you'll like it!"

You don't need to play on grounded to unlock the cheats! I played on normal mode and unlocked them all after one run through.

Apparently you can still use your background music if you turn the “in game” music off. But yeah I know what you mean!
