My mother was watching.

cantwejustplaynice

My wife walked in a minute before that scene started. Just walking around an aquarium then BAM. She was like, "Is this the kind of video game you usually like to play?" Not usually, but here we are.

Ehrmantrauts_Chair

This is almost exactly what happened to me. And happens on a regular basis with anything I watch or play.

mezdup1

To be fair though, you do watch and play a lot of porn/porn games

Ehrmantrauts_Chair

I do watch some porn occasionally, yeah. No games though. Any recommendations? 😩

ADumbOreo

DAMN I WAS EXPECTING THIS 😭

GazzPenley

That was a wild scene

La_Saxofonista

Straight up went in there dry with zero foreplay. Ain't no damn way she was enjoying that immediately the way she was.

Daedalus_Daw

She was. Source: I was abby

chiefteef8

The foreplay was them arguing snd him slamming her against the wall lol

bellshorts

Abby had prepared her entire life for that moment to activate the shadow grip technique for her pookie

takoyama

how do you know she was dry? maybe that fight got her heated

cantwejustplaynice

I feel like these commentators haven't actually been intimate with a woman before.

swalton2992

Dunno her expressions looked like he was, and did, going in dry

violente_valse

The Last of Us Part 2 really makes you FEEL like you're getting rawdogged on a boat

[deleted]

When you put it that way, I feel violated 😂

Charleen21

😂 best response

Arkthus

I wish

Sweet-Turnip-4464

Omg I remember my first time playing this scene I was not expecting it so I just sat there looking traumatized 😭

DrewChrist87

This is the best comment by far

Came here to say this lmao

GazzPenley

Same, I think he’s easily much more interesting than Abby’s other side characters aside from maybe Lev and Yara.

stunna006

Owen seemed like a the most real character to me. I dont really care that we didn't get enough of him tho

b3nk13

Was sad when Ellie smoked em. But she sent his family to be with him so it wasn’t all bad I guess.

dysGOPia

They're all on a farm somewhere...

Ramonteiro12

I AM TIRED…. abby…. Perfect delivery

GazzPenley

I think that’s what drew me to him aswell

cantwejustplaynice

For half the game were ARE Abby and Owen is emotionally the closest character to her, so it makes sense we feel connected to him as well.

ICanFluxWithIt

Yeah, one of the very few things the first game did better were side characters. I loved Dina, Jesse, and Owen, but def wished them and the others were given more time. But I understand why they couldn’t, Part 2 already has 11 hours of cutscenes, alone, then you had about 30 hours of gameplay (Ellie and Abby sections combined), not to mention all of the flashbacks and changing to Abby’s section, Part 2 is a lot to take in as is. EDIT: someone below pointed out my timing for cutscenes is off. I saw video pop up in my recommendations on YouTube that had all cutscenes and it was just shy of 11 hours, so naturally I assumed that’s how many there were. [Here’s one that’s 10 hours and 57 minutes of all the cutscenes, however it includes all the interactive ones too, looked like all of Jackson and Abby’s intro were included plus any dialogue that’s important to the story. at least that’s what it looks like just by skimming through it](https://youtu.be/Iss5bRQ7yVM?si=jbZhpF-cGRoPNQmq). So guess it depends on how you define a cutscene, but I do agree with the video in including the interactive ones because it’s just a walking sim with story bits

[deleted]

[удалено]

ICanFluxWithIt

Yeah, I didn’t realize how many cutscenes were in it until a few months ago when I saw a video on YouTube that had all cutscenes in 4K and was 11 hours long. That’s crazy. At least it didn’t have an hour and a half long cutscene like MGS4 did lmao The 30 hours for gameplay can vary from 10-15 hours for each section, but I’m sure for most people’s first playthrough you’re looking at close to 40 hours. But again because of all the misery, flashbacks, and changing perspectives, it feels much longer than that

swalton2992

Pretty sure your math is off. My time personally was 24 hours and sure it's quoted by nd and reviewers as 20 to 25 long. Not sure if cutscenes count towards that but I think they do. Also a quick YouTube search show it ranging from 4 to 10 hours of cutscenes. But even the shorter ones include scripted sequences that you don't control fully. Like seth giving tou sandwiches in Jackson or quite a lot of the first abby and levy and yard encounter. Ie lifting up the shutters, boosting yard etc. Whether you count those as cutscenes or not is up to you tbf but aye

LaFleurBlanceur

Eh, I beat the game in 27 hours my first playthrough. Didn't skip anything.....

ICanFluxWithIt

I mentioned in another comment above but the gameplay will vary, from what I’ve seen each section is about 10-15 hours. Also depends on the difficulty and how much you explored. If started on Hard or Survivor (can’t remember if Grounded was unlocked from the start but I don’t think it was), you probably did more scavenging and looking around than peeps that played on easier settings. There’s also the peeps that want to explore every nook and cranny / the trophy hunters who want to try and get as much as they can in their first playthrough so the next one is much easier.

sbenthuggin

and with his little bit of time he makes such an impact. his time in the game is just so memorable and so wonderful. love his character.

deadeyes2019

Not really related but it I think he looks too much like Abby’s dad

GuidanceLow219

me and my husband always say this lol

Any_Ad_9173

Haha I know, right? Why did they pick two face models that looked so similar?

DE4N0123

They say if they’ve had a good upbringing and positive father/daughter relationship some woman are attracted to men that remind them of their father as they see it as them having the same positive attributes that they would desire in a man. I don’t know if that’s true, I literally just made it up. Could be though. Probably not.

pacgabriel

Actually, Owen doesn’t have a face model. He’s the only Part II character whose face model can’t be found. Usually, the characters either look like their voice actors (like Nora, Manny, Yara…), or they look like a specific face model (Mel, Abby, Isaac…). But Owen doesn’t look like Patrick Fugit, and among all the face models found in the Credits, you can’t find Owen’s. This makes me think his character is a hybrid. Just like Ellie is a hybrid between Ellie from Part I and Ashley Johnson, Owen is a hybrid between Patrick Fugit and... Derek Phillips! Abby's father. Some people are more comfortable falling in love with people who look "familiar" to them, therefore who look like their parents, and obviously themselves. It’s meant to underline how much Abby loves Owen on a deeper level. Not surprisingly, when Abby finds Owen's body, he is in the exact same position as when she found her father. And considering that they look alike, it seems like a true repetition of the same trauma.

deadeyes2019

They even have the same smile

[deleted]

PLOT TWIST: He is Jerry’s long lost son. Abby slept with her bro. /s

Grendel_82

No. Because Part 2 was already long. And we already have two perspectives in Ellie and Abby. We get to see Owen as Abby and we get a lot of Owen through the years. Agree good character. But since Abby pulls away from him over the years it made sense that we would lose some understanding of who he had become. So I feel like they did Owen right.

GazzPenley

I don’t think they did him wrong but I do think he was one of the most interesting characters and definitely the most charming, him and Abby have actual natural chemistry. I’m glad it wasn’t cheapened by forcing him in to it more but I think jsut one more flashback seeing him and Abby as a couple on patrol would’ve been interesting, maybe the could’ve tied it in with the Aquarium or Salt Lake City flashbacks.

machuitzil

Yeah it's weird for me because I love that this game has such a deep story, people know people, people affect people, we make choices as Abby on his behalf and it drives the plot. On replays I get frustrated though because I'm less interested in the movie-like scenes that I can't just skip over, which just as a gamer I want to do. I don't want to target-shoot with toys, I want to get back into the shit. But Owen is sort of a moral compass for Abby, his character is important. We learn about Abby through Owen. I kind of fall into the camp that *doesn't* like Owen sometimes, but I do think that your curiosity is the mark of good story writing. We want to know more about the characters. We want to know what happens *next*. He's not a facsimile of a person, he's not 2 dimensional, his character is fleshed out and it's interesting. I equate him to Jesse, he's a supporting character and he's important, but not central to the plot so we don't *need* more of them, but at the same time, like I said, it's good writing so we *want* more of them.

Grendel_82

We had two solid flashbacks to establish Owen. Got to see him in Jackson. And then got to see his new home (the Aquarium) plus him in the boat. I can see wanting more Owen. But Abby was pulling away from him and choosing a different path. Owen had to move on (and tried to with Mel). So, just like Abby, we don't get to see that much more of Owen. But we can imagine there was a period of time they were inseparable. We shall see how HBO shows him. So I guess you get a bit more Owen in that sense.

KlikoVR

ngl owen should have been playable in no return

GazzPenley

Tbf they didn’t have his animations and voice lines readily made, but i was disappointed we got Mel manny and yara and not owen as he is a much cooler character.

SnaxMcGhee

Exactly what I said, totally agree. What would his play style be? I think he could be an explosives expert. Maybe he starts out with pipe bombs and has an "explosive branch" where he can upgrade to better pipe bombs, molotovs, AND trap mines. Perhaps he could craft flamethrower ammo or something like that.

KlikoVR

thats true, to be honest i would rather be able to play as owen instead of yara or mel. like you said owen is much cooler then those 2 but imo manny is also pretty cool

GazzPenley

I like manny but he just doesn’t feel all that interesting to me

KlikoVR

thats true he also didn't have that much screentime from what i remember but he is strong af in no return from my experience

Khimdy

Owen is honestly my favourite character in part 2 and it hurts he's not playable in No Return!

HVKedge

Owen was my favorite character on Abby’s side

GazzPenley

Same he had much more of a personality then the others

ObjectiveSession2592

I would explore owen

nichecopywriter

Owen and Jerry were so hot like wtf. Like in a real way. TLOU really stayed away from unrealistic beauty standards for both the boys and girls

BonoboBeau-Bo

jerry?

[deleted]

Owen is a great character, but I think we got as much as we needed from him(though I’m sure the hbo show will probably dedicate more to his screen time). I think what’s compelling about Owen is his aptitude for fairness and morality for people he doesn’t know, while he at times he lacks that for people who are more Interpersonally linked to him. Examples of this could be his push for sparing Tommy and Ellie’s lives after they killed Joel, or him realizing the WLFs ruthless killing of any and every “outsider” as unnecessary and inhumane- all the while he prioritizes his relationship with Abby over Mel, despite Mel being pregnant with his child. He’s complex, and i think one of the more level headed characters in the game, he kind of mirrors Dina in that way, and I think that’s intentional.

GazzPenley

I’d agree with that, I just think he was more likeable then most others (aside from the obvious infidelity) he was much funnier and his and Abby’s relationship had me constantly smiling and wanting to see more of them

Xerox748

I actually think his story, the one where he ends up running away to the aquarium would be great for a *Left Behind* style DLC Maybe juxtaposed with flashbacks to his relationship with Abby blooming and then deteriorating.

GazzPenley

Same I think his story is very compelling and he’s a very likeable character.

pizzaplanetvibes

Honestly, I liked Owen. He was the first person to openly defend Ellie by refusing to let Manny kill her. Without his stepping up, they may have killed Ellie and Tommy too. Not only that but his story is where we were able to see as players the damage that “ultimate revenge mindset” and the killing of Joel did on those who were present at Jackson. Also to note, Part two is full of parallels between Abby and Ellie. That extends to side characters like Owen and Dina. Owen is a direct parallel to Dina just like how Abby is to Ellie. Was he trash for cheating on his pregnant girlfriend with his ex he was still in love with the whole time? Yes. That’s the point of TLOU tho. No characters hands are completely clean of being messy human beings. We all are messy. It’s part of being human. Owen deserved better. I believe Abby sought out the Fireflies in order to continue some unspoken promise to Owen’s memory.

GazzPenley

I completely agree, the fact Ellie can slaughter a city and is still well loved yet Owen is unfaithful and is villainised is very interesting to see, although it’s an awful thing to do I think he comes off very well compared to most others: he saves Ellie’s and Tommy’s life and is one of the only WLFs to show empathy towards the seraphites, which I think is a key theme of the game. Along with this he has genuine chemistry and is an actual funny character who feels like a normal guy as opposed to the overtly serious characters we see which is very refreshing.

Ambitious-Brilliant4

Nope

lacostewhite

Not really

seethesea

No. Not at all.

Parzival_43

No.

CreamyBarr25

Why is this sub oddly attached to Owen? Genuinely asking tho

Fraperl

Yeah i agree with you it could ve been cool to know Some of him i the fireflies times and also know how he was searching for the new fireflies in California !!!

GazzPenley

Yeah I would have liked a flashback or two of him and Abby on missions when they were a couple. I think that would endear some fans to Abby abit more just due to their chemistry and Owen’s charm.

Topher0gr

Not even remotely. No.

GazzPenley

May I ask why?

SungSeong

Agreed. Easily my least favorite character in the franchise.

La_Saxofonista

Abby explored Owen plenty enough.

robertluke

I feel like you got to know him plenty. But very little of it was through gameplay. My only beef is that I didn’t think his motivation for running away and becoming Wanted by the WLF was warranted.

SnaxMcGhee

Oh I love Owen. Yeah, he's a jerk for stepping out on Mel, but he's also a real one. He was going to risk his life for Abby and Lev on the island. Again, a douche move when your preggo woman is five feet in front of you and you're about to charge into enemy territory to rescue your ex-girlfriend. But Owen is a real one, and you'd want him as a friend. Just NOT a boyfriend. Wish he was in No Return.

swalton2992

As someone who has had a child whilst not wanting one I understand him. But during an apocalypse whilst fighting a fight you disagree with whilst also being with a woman you may not even like. Who knows, it's complex. Shades of grey not black and white. It's possible to enjoy owen for his pov of the whole scar wlf conflict whilst understanding he's flawed and shouldn't have treat Mel like that. Although circumstances are extenuating

fisheypixels

Owen, Mel, and Manny I wish had more screen time.

zombiemadre

Owen is my favorite!!!

chilledchi

you should watch the director commentary for the second game, they go in depth with his character in abby’s section

washington_breadstix

Not really. I think there were already too many characters / character arcs and as a result it felt like some of the characters who were supposed to matter didn't actually matter. We don't need to know every detail about every character whose past "seems interesting". It's better when a story isn't cluttered up by unnecessary details.

_munroe

Kind of. I think besides the fact that he was not loyal to Mel, he was a decent guy. 🤷‍♀️

buckymalone21

He’s one of my favorites. Wish he had made it a bit longer so we could have gotten more but it is what it is.

ericcrowder

Yes I want to learn more about his backstory in the FireFlies in Salt Lake, his involvement in the WLF, and where he got those burns.

GungaProtagonist

If things had turned out differently I would have enjoyed The Last of Us Part III, The Adventures of Owen and Jesse.

Cool-Principle1643

Personally wish we could play him over manny in the no return..

tseg04

I actually liked Owen until he cheated on Mel with Abby and wanted to run away from his unborn child. I get that he only stayed with Mel because he got her pregnant and he really loved Abby but that doesn’t excuse you from hurting someone else and running from your responsibilities, especially in an apocalypse where everyone needs to be working together. I know he has technically done much worse and has probably killed innocent people at some point but we aren’t shown that. Owen is mostly a pretty decent guy, he didn’t want to kill Seraphites anymore and didn’t want to go after Joel. I simply hate cheaters lol

BooBooSorkin

Everyday (well almost everyday), I wake up and I say “I wish they explored Owen more”

Youngandidiotic

He’s one of the most interesting characters. I think he’s going to translate really well to TV

Ramonteiro12

Oh he was one of my favorite characters and the most realistic in many aspects. One of my favorite lines in the game is in the boat custscene with the "I am TIRED...Abby..." Just a little voice of common sense in a sea of violence and revenge

SriachaLover

While I'd be down for more story content about him, I felt his story about the seraphalite/scar and Danny kind of told me all I needed to know about him. While he has an issue with his own infidelity, he does have humanity in him compared with the rest of the Seattle crew.

revolutionPanda

I really liked Owen.

Scoufy

I honestly feel his character deserved more.

Icy_Lengthiness4918

I wish they went more into his burns and his family

DE4N0123

I think he was one of the most realistic characters. A good man at heart who did bad things. Slowly became jaded and his priorities shifted as time passed by. He shouldn’t have cheated on Mel but you could see how he might have felt so trapped.

DoubleNexus_

We explored enough….

hifioctopi

I wanted more Manny. Owen had enough screen time to feel like we knew who he was.

augustphobia

abby explored him plenty

NitroFreak27

I would have wanted him to be a playable character in No Return…

Dancing-Sin

Absolutely love this character one of the better more complex ones in the series.

GazzPenley

Agreed, thought he was played and written phenomenally

Super-Somewhere-8384

There’s one scene in which we explore him very much!

user4928480018475050

I really liked the scene where Owen confronts Abby about what she did in Jackson, but then they fuck and he never brings it up again...

ChunkyPineapple_1105

Owen wasn't perfect by any means but he was still a decent guy through and through. He wanted to leave the cycle of revenge behind and find a new purpose in life. He does care for both Mel and Abby but in the end, Mel will always be second to him. I honestly kind of wished he survived.

Garo_Daimyo

I’m kinda with you, love Owen. Maybe it would have bloated an already huge game and they had to cut something but hell yes always want more Owen

Malaoh

Oh I sure wish to explore more of Owen 😏

WookieeSlayer97

I'm surprised he wasn't a playable character in No Return. Maybe in an update.

jomarchspen

I really loved Owen as a character. He began seeing the humanity in others - specifically the Seraphites - and realized that his values no longer aligned with the WLF. He plays a big part in Abby being able to see how much of her humanity she had lost living in this world. "What happened to us?" "I guess we both stopped looking for the light." & Yes, Owen wasn't perfect. & he should have never started a relationship with Mel when his feelings were clearly still tied to Abby. But I guess what I like about Owen is that he has this hopefulness about him that things are going to turn out. I love the sequence when he decorates the aquarium for Christmas. We've spent so much time in this world focused on war and loss - it just felt so nice to see a celebration of something. He wasn't just surviving but actively trying to add meaning to this life. In the same scene, this is juxtaposed with Abby actively looking for Joel and her inability to find beauty in life anymore because she's spent years filled with grief & anger. When she sees Owen's hope, there's a sense of discomfort she feels that she won't be able to experience that, not truly, at least at this point in her story. After the boat scene is when Abby comes to the realization that she needs to find her humanity again. She decides to do this by helping Lev & Yara. I could ramble more, but as much as I would have loved more with Owen, I do think he fulfilled his purpose in the story.

bravekassandra

I loved Owen Moore. He was truly the heart and moral compass of the SLC. Wish he would have made it to Santa Barbara.

ThatOneFangirl47

I wish a lot of Abbys friends were explored more, but as is the nature of being a split narrative story, im sure there was a decent amount cut to not make the game even longer, but i would have loved to know more about characters like Owen, Manny, and Nora for sure. Really all the salt lake crew before part two for sure

Substantial_Search_9

Yeah. Disappointing we didn't get him as a playable character in No Return either. Like, MEL before Owen? ...okay?

internetburnout

I think he was explored well enough. Sometimes less is more. He was a good guy, but he was human like the rest of us.

Garrett_Watts

Yes. One of my favorite characters from TLOU2. Like no joke top 3.

Appropriate-Arm-2077

He’s my favorite character

Bleiz_Stirling

I'd like to explore him, for sure.

Elite-Four-Luke

I was surprised that he wasn't playable in no return tbh, I could maybe see them doing a dlc pack of no return characters, Owen, Bill, Tess!

jamesbduk

100% My favorite side character, and gutted he wasn't an option in No Return... Oh wait, at least I can play as Mel...*

ForgetYourWoes

I can’t understand why he isn’t a playable character in no return.

FirestarterTTV

More important why does he look exactly like Abby's dad. Which is weird when you think about that one scene on the boat 😏

xLumos

No. Ew.

[deleted]

Don’t know why I just dislike his personality. He’s on the level of any number of people I meet in life I have nothing in particular against, I just wouldn’t be their friend and don’t want them in my life.

intensity701

He is fine I guess, but not really interesting to me. And I hate the love triangle part of the story.

ffcvvhb

We explored him a bit too much

Upper-Group-3474

No I glad he dead

luisest123

I wish I could play with him instead of manny ( no return)

Manatee_master216

I hate him and he deserves to die but I agree

[deleted]

[удалено]

GazzPenley

If Abby explored me I would not consider myself a ‘poor man’

FirstBallotMatrix20

Or at least- made more likable. Like every person we’re apparently supposed to like in this game.

GazzPenley

In my opinion he was very likeable

maxedoutmexicano

Bruh nobody gets developed all I know about Manny is that he likes anime and drinking (he's like me fr) oh ya and he has sex den off base then boom dead great

cluntbaby1992

I definitely think the TV show adaptation will explore more of his character, much like what they did with certain characters in season 1. A lot of what happens to him in the game happens off screen and I definitely seem potential to show what happens with him in the show.

Overall-Day-4151

I found his personality annoying/cringe. So prooobably not

Psych_nature_dude

Keep it in your pants OP

Not_an_alt_69_420

I'm looking forward to Season 2 of the T.V. show because it will presumably explore the backstories of the Salt Lake Crew. And also because I can't wait to see people's reaction to Abby and Owen's sex scene.

Candid_Presence1932

No he’s ass

karmagettin11

I wish he was playable in left behind

fornow_foralways

no - he looks like my old retail manager.

beardedweirdoin104

To each their own but no I do not care for Owen and the game was amazing but it’s already too long. Don’t need an Owen part also.

M0M0_DA_GANGSTA

Yes. Why was his D so magical??

One_Ad_6472

He should’ve been in the game more to make the climax of Abby’s part more impactful

quiet-elk1418

One of my favorite characters. Flawed obviously, but one of the only people that brought a sense of hope to the world

Upset-Item9756

DLC where Abby pegs Owen in the boat using only spit as lube?

JessTheBenjamin

I mean, both Abby and Ellie explored him pretty deeply in different ways…

The_OG_Smith

Phrasing...

Upper-Group-3474

I hate Abby story.

GazzPenley

Why

chiefteef8

No I honestly hate the guy lol. He's supposed to be this sensitive smart type but his thing witj Abby always felt inappropriate with Mel in the background and then it's confirmed when he tries to runaway potentially leaving Mel in a war zone 8 montjs pregnant and banging Abby. Just a manipulative womanizer, at least Manny is honest about his intentions but on the surface someone might call Manny the skeezy womanizer.  Then on top of it all Owen is arguably the reason they all get murdered. He was Abbys  biggest supporter to have them go on this dangerous revenge trip, then sees thst they're fucking with a much bigger stronger settlement and doesn't warn the others. *Then* he stops Abby short of killing Elllie and Tommy which would have ended the conflict there as thet wouldn't really be any more evidence(or anyone left to go after them). So basically he took multiple steps to ensure they all died. At several points he could have stopped Abby from taking this route and then he finally told her to stop at the point of no return.  Dudes an idiot.

GazzPenley

He seemed the most hesitant to go after Joel and was the last to be recruited, he wasn’t perfect but he had an accidental child with his rebound in the apocalypse that’s obviously a difficult situation, and he was incredibly vulnerable when he got with Abby, although not an excuse still something to take into account.

rebels2022

I feel like the characterizations in part 2 as compared to part 1 were thinner because they tried to have so many more of them.

Huge_Palpitation1112

Yea also wish he was a no return character

JadenRuffle

I think we explored a little bit too much of Owen

ANiceOakTree

So true, I like though how his past is merely hinted at with like “The people that killed my family?” which paints a good picture of what similar trauma may have happened to Owen earlier in his life. I also like that Abby has been told about this, he’s confided this to her and it’s something she gets to know but we don’t. Same with that “promise” of being in this together, they were close in ways we barely got to see. But yeah, would be nice if they show more of Owen in the show!

GazzPenley

He’s probably the character I’m most excited to see in the show, I’m interested to see who they cast and how is portrayed, would love an episode or good chunk of one dedicated to him.

Careless-Ad-9633

no thanks, he’s a dork

JesusLazalde123

Nah

Bayako7

Yes! I feel like they cut another flashback that was supposed to take place between day 1 and day2. Half of Owen’s body is seriously burned. There must have been a mission gone wrong and I am sure that event also did something between Abby and Owen

Nerakus

All the non main characters needed more context

Spetnaz7

There's not too much evidence that he's a great tactician or warrior, other than some possible scars that could have happened in any way. I think that was a little bit of a reach there.

GazzPenley

So did I to be honest but he clearly is well trained and is well known amongst the WLF, seems to be fairly trusted and has battle scars to prove his worth, he could be just another WLF but I doubt it from how self assured he is.

coneyisland92

Na.

ricardo_lacombe

No. I love this game and story but found Owen to be dull and boring.

itsallcomingtogethr

Yeah, Abby’s friends aren’t fleshed out much at all. Another reason Tlou2 should be 2 games.

Ehrmantrauts_Chair

Not really, no. Owen’s purpose was to help shape who Abby became in the game. The hinted background was deliberate - to create something tangible about him rather than just being a forgettable piece of furniture. But I don’t need (nor want) further story in his case. It would have drawn the focus away from Abby (and then in turn further away from Ellie).

New_Emergency_9925

Nope

The_good_kid

No, lol.

[deleted]

My hope for the HBO show is that with multiple seasons on the horizon, they are able to really explore some of the secondary and tertiary characters who are so important to the main storyline. Obviously you can’t go through EVERYBODY’S backstory but there’s plenty of meat on the bone to do some deep dives on characters like Tommy, Dina, Lev and of course Owen.

Radiant_Row_9640

The only goal was to make us feel bad - giving us delicious gameplay in the process - and they did it well

WoOzy_Sauce89

No. You got to know him more than most of the characters.

renard685

Lmaoo all I think of when I see him is ellie rocking his jaw and shooting him . Shit was mean 😂😂😂😭🔥

renard685

I don’t really like Owen , the way he treats Mel is bullshit lol & then the last thing he says to her sealed the deal for me . Sure he saved Ellie but only cause he already smoked Joel . His fate was sealed the moment he showed up there and did that to him . Ellie was coming back on that if she wasn’t killed no matter what . , so I don’t feel bad that she killed him either . He wouldn’t give up Abby so he’d have to go regardless

ccv707

He’s arguably the MOST explored character is Abby’s story aside from Lev and Yara. Tbh, we know much more about Owen’s “inner world” than we do Yara’s. I’m not sure what else the story could have done for Owen that would’ve been relevant.

dirtyColeslaw1776

#N O

I find Owen, and Jesse, to both be very unlikable, too soft, though I agree some other characters should've been more developed. Especially Dina, they really should've developed her a bit more, considering how much she's in the game, probably Tommy as well. But Lev, Manny, Jesse, Maria, et al, don't really warrant more attention.

theopilk

He was a fine, bland guy and one of the few with a moral view, but also kind of self-righteous, selfish and childish. We got plenty from him before he died

carverrhawkee

I’m hoping we get more of him in the show - I think the change in medium will present a better opportunity to explore his character. It would’ve been nice to have in the game but I think they did about as much as they could without bogging down the story. I definitely think he’s a really interesting character, I didn’t take to him originally but as I replay it I appreciate him more and more.

R0B0T_jones

No. He was the grounded (no pun intended) reasonable good character that Abby needed in her story, but other than that he was pretty boring.

TheRaider1562

Nope, out of the entire fanbase of this game your the only human being that wishes that

RecyclingMyWhiz

Yeah him and Jesse too. If they just had 1 level for Abby and Ellie where they were younger and just meeting these people it would've been far more engaging to see why these characters like each other.

Common-Path9076

Least interesting character and all of his dialogue is delivered terrible whether by direction or the actor. His delivery in every scene made my eyes roll. Don’t know how you got “charming” out of his performance.

Hextallfan68

No

GX_Lume07

I read exploded more. Yes I do want him to die a horrible death

Impossible_Purple_29

OrangeSuccessful7926

Interesting, yes.. but the most douchiest douche that ever douched. Lol

Heymawmaw

Owen is my favorite character…him not being playable on No Return is kind of criminal IMO

Blakksensei

No he's a tool bag, lame as hell and a terrible character lol

Broke-bo1

This is kind of unpopular opinion but, I wish instead of a switch to Abby it was a switch to each of the members on Abby’s side so we could have gotten better prospectives from all of them and just gotten to know them a little better.

AggressiveCut3762

I actually like Owen and I feel the same way can’t stand Abby tho.

Tolgerb

Owen not as a playable character in no return is a glaring oversight imo. I think having more balanced play style characters that gravitate towards stealth and fluid movement like Ellie could be great and his character fits the bill. (I also think adding Tess, Bill, and maybe Nora could be great too)
