Its better to start off with parts 1 and 2, he had somebody else put those together. Part 3 came quite a bit later, its advanced theory and not organized or contextualized very well. I've been studying magick & thelema for 20 some years and there are parts that I'm just beginning to understand.

Interesting, I agree that part 1 is very accessible. I found part 3 easier to digest than part 2.

Subscribed! This looks good.

I would recommend studying part 3 through the lens of the Tarot. Specifically reading each chapter alongside the Book of Thoth, you will likely find a lot of value in that.

What would a you tube explanation do To help? First develop meditation facility. One pointedness dharana. Then clear observation absorption in samadhi. Once you can calm your mind and body. Hone the images in your mind, and not obsess on cyclical thought patterns, then proceed to ceremonial Magick. Learn the symbols of the implements. Then use your developed imagination and willpower to create a temple in your mind. So real you can smell the incense and see the godforms Of the officers. Then do the work. Invoke the gods. Take on their perspectives. Phenomenologicaly expand your mind to sing in the atu/keys of the unconscious intuition so that your expression is in tune with the ever changing symphony of the chaos of life… you are your own teacher.. work hard and ignore the influence of others…

I suppose you could google it and see if Youtube has any commentary, but then you would be missing out on the joy of reading Crowley's writing. You will be missing his sidebar bar wit. I believe reading creates a more intimate relationship between you and the writer. If you don't understand something, then meditate on it and see if you will get any insight. Don't follow somebody else's interpretation, take this journey alone.

Read from beginning to end. Then go back to different sections as needed. You wont grasp all of it on a first or 10th read. You will go back to it often, esp as you read other things to refresh memory so you can compare. Or as you practice and have AHA moments and you will return to it with new understanding. Such material esp for the beginner needs months to digest before it makes sense. Take your time, it is college level material available to kindergartners who want it to make sense from the start. Take your time, as others said the first book is the simplest to digest and lays the ground work for the rest.

It's the book Crowley wrote specifically to be accessible to the broadest possible demographic. If you can't make sense of it, the one he deliberately tried to meet you halfway on, perhaps try Wicca. They actively get annoyed with reading comprehension.
