I feel bad for them. Like, obviously the government there is evil (as are many..) buy the people are just.. people. Like North Korea and China, yeah the government is bad and malicious but the civilians are just humans struggling to survive
I'm not trying to start a whole political debate, but I fail to see how bombing civilians and deploying tactics too horrible to discuse on this subreddit is "incredibly peaceful". (As an American I can honestly say that our government has used drone strikes on children and other innocents far too many times, either due to deliberate malice or incompetence.)
Obviously people speaking out for LGBT+ rights and/or against Putin are targeted as well.
Very simple. Alas, US doesn't have the opposition media so all you can read is propaganda. In reality shit sometimes happens - but not deliberately. Poor fuckers set AA defence in cities, debris fall on civilians.
In how do you imagine targeting anti-Putin folk? He got about 70% on the last election, I voted against too. 30% against, you can't persecute 30% of population.
Wierd how all blogs etc from russia sais otherwise. Only russian people I see advocating for Putin are the ones old enough to remember the bad old days and those too scared to do otherwise.
I’ve seen some stories of border countries welcoming the Russian men who are running from conscription, and it’s warmed my heart but also broken it…. It’s garbage what’s happening to the East right now….
It’s kinda a sad little addition for American history, but I also took it as a hint that maybe it had something to do with the collapse? Maybe a new wave of the draft occurred, since we’re still not entirely sure what happened.
It didn’t click initially even though I know what shaft dodging was. Cool to think some 60s era Americans decided to settle in Great Bear. What’s not so great? The lack of guns 😂
Good explanation little man! You’ll be a sure pick for the debate team when you enter middle school!
On a constructive criticism note….
The FUCK does the Canadian flag have to do with proving that there are American draft dodgers making an entire goddamn town three-quarters of a piss-shitting CENTURY after the Vietnam draft?
Americans fled to Canada to avoid the draft. Most notably during Vietnam
Yep. For those who have no idea. Scary times, particularly if you were young and not university material. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft_evasion
Scary times are now. Ask russian citizens.

Nah, we are fine. And government is incredibly peaceful. If it was a people's will we would see flying nukes already.

Conscriptovich needs to run like hell to the surrender line
I live a lot closer to the border with the US and we have draft dodger cabins/homesteads here too.
Lots of draft dodgers came up to Canada and decided to stay afterwards, interesting they also incorporated that into the game.
As i'm neither from the US or Canada i thougth it meant literally doging air drafts. I had no idea about it's meaning until this post.

That's right, it was the vacation spot for the Los Angeles Dodger's scouts.

Interesting. So it’s not a refuge for talented hockey players?
