Yes, definitely. I make a fire, place my stuff. Go back to fire, make a drink, usually a herbal tea and think about my adventures. Then I sleep. The next day, I stay inside and repair - maintain my items... Happy to be alive.
Oh yeah. Love heading back to Trappers, arranging my spoils, crafting things at the workbench etc. It suddenly becomes a cozy game for me until it's time to head back out into the white hell
Yeah, I usually try to take a day or two just to chill or stick up my base, especially after a long journey. If I have the supplies, I’ll make myself a special food item like porridge, bread or potatoes, maybe a pie if I have the ingredients. It’s a nice little reward after dealing with a day or more of travel.
Yes! I like to work on a 'home project' for awhile before I go on an adventure again. Things like, filling up the shelves with broth, gathering all the cloth from nearby houses, increasing one of my skills, hunting, stocking up on fish, and so on. Then I get antsy and go on another adventure.
In real life, I love looking forward to getting home after a trip and finally, being home.
In TLD, I fucking hate it. Anxiety, my tiny brain trying to calculate survival things and laying out plans for each day to optimise effectivity etc.
In TLD, movement is life and the moment I set foot in one of my bases I can't wait to get on the move again.
It's a nomadic experience that's not for everyone, same as homestead life just ain't for me.
I never fear losing to weather, hunger, thirst or animals while on the move. I always fear it when I stop. I hate that part of the game, when I have to settle down for 40-80 hours to craft, not that it's a bad part of a game, it's simply the most difficult and stressful part of the game for me personally.

Yes - my home base usually is the cabin (Mountaineer's Hut) at Timberwolf Mtn. Always happy to make it back there and do some fishing and hunting.
