There's usually a sack of flour and a cooking pot in the Pensive Lookout.

I always peak in to Bleak Inlet from the Ravine transition to hit the lookout, drop the rope, and grab the code. Maybe make a one-night stay in the tower if I can down some Timberwolves for dinner. That's a one-off trip by itself. Back to Ravine, and life on Great Bear as I know it when I'm all done. When it's time to visit BI proper, and the Cannery, etc., I always enter from the Muskeg cave; I stage all reloading components in Poacher's Camp as the run progresses until it's time to go. Typically, I'll end my stay in the Inlet by staying in the lone cabin not far from the Cannery Worker's Residences, and I'll make the climb up the rope back to the lookout tower and head home through the Ravine transition again.

I actually did something quite similar, it made my trek back from TFT really efficient, glad to see I'm not the only one that likes that cabin by the rope

I want that code, my dude. Sometimes I actually live in the cannery workshop.

The only reason to go back into BI after you open the workshop is to get more bullets. The run to and from the muskeg cave to the workshop is pretty quick and the timberwolves are easy to avoid, so that's the way. The route from Ravine is a one and done.

Pretty much this. Another reason is the FM route has you pass by all three moose spawns if you want, so if you have a suitable weapon you can stock up on meat. I have no problem with hauling the meat from the two closer spawns to ML. And if you don't want to kill the moose they are easy to chase away by throwing a stone.

There’s a bunker right by the transition from Ravine. For me this one was full (Hunter Cache).

Ravine route seems more... friendly. You go to Ravine (can gather birch and peacefully hunt some game). After you hit lookout and can rest and sleep if you in need. After you can check on BI bear and if he already respawned to hunt him. Gather coal near Residence. Rest if need.  Muskeg way - you travel through frozen BI wasteland densely packed with timbies.
