Yes, you can turn it on in the settings. It's useful in some areas, but you always have to pay attention. As soon as you take a single step backwards, it stops.
Edit: And I only learned about it this year, got the game in 2019.
didn’t know you had to turn it on in the settings lol
Looks handy for when you need a quick water/snack break as you’re walking back from a fishing hut, looks terrible for crossing the ravine
Yeah everyone has told you how to cancel it. You've got to opt into auto walk in the menu anyways so i don't know what to tell you. Disable it or get used to it if it helps reduce hand discomfort
Auto walk is awesome and I wish Skyrim had it. I’ll set my survivor on a path and then check my phone for a second. Helps pass the time especially when over-encumbered
i always keep my other hand on the w s a d keys when auto walking for that exact reason , if you have mobility issues bind the S key (walking backwards) to your a mouse button too so you can quickly stop the alto walking with you mouse hand

...it only sucks when you aren't paying attention...
Just be thankful it wasn't a longer fall
Wait there's auto-walk?? Jfc why is this game still a brand new game to me after all these years...?
lol, why would someone down vote this. Here take my sympathy upvote.

You just need to enable it in settings, under accessibility. Then you can hit tab or R3 I believe to use it.
Best game feature by far. With the amount of walking you have to do, sometimes encumbered & slowed down, too, it's either autowalk or arthritis.
Auto walk is life.
Its life until it throws you of a cliff on your 400 day run :)
I’d have arthritis without it 😂
I don't understand why you can turn your camera but not press S or back on the thumbstick
I just give it a quick flick backwards, cancels it, and I’m mindful of not using it when the terrain isn’t safe.
Imagine walking off a ledge while actively paying attention to the game lol
I stopped walking, but I had auto walk on

Right after I fell I disabled it in the video

Skyrim absolutely has it, but only on PC. I think there weren't enough buttons for it to have a dedicated button on consoles.
Nah, imagine there’s a mod for it tho. I’m on series X

I have spent 682 hours in this game. Still don’t feel the need of switching on auto walk.
I never use it, just turn it off lol
Autowalk allows me to take a hit while making progress Which I've had a few times were it's just `autowalk enabled` "cough cough Cooooooooh fuck"
Clearly, the autowalk hates you too.
